    I have installed Ubuntu 11.10 as my only OS after I formatted Windows XP but after the installation finished it took four hours to boot and start working it just was stuck in that purple screen with nothing on it!!! But if I unplug the power and start my PC again it start after bring me the grub option... What should I do to make em start just as easy as any OS do! my RAM is 1 GB, 80GB HDD, ASROCK.

  • Nvidia Proprietary Drivers

    I have an X79 motherboard and a GTX 670. I have tried to install every combination of Ubuntu 11.10, 12.04, 12.10, Linux Mint 13 and the Nvidia Driver 304.43, 295.xx, etc. I have read everything and pretty much tried everything...drivers from the site, PPAs, some random scripts, editing the xorg.conf file. It has been four days of futile effort. Should I just wait...or something? Has anyone gotten hardware like this to work?

But when I started to work on the presentation, I found myself adding extraneous markup just to achieve what a table tag naturally does.     Hello everyone another new Linux user here.Most things are going well except for the 360 controller.There are so many posts about this it gets a little confusing on which to follow.Anyways someone told me that ubuntu 12.04 comes with a 360 wireless receiver and its just plug and play.When i plug my receiver in and run jstest-gtk 4 generic xbox pad come up in the joystick preferences window.now the controller itself isnt even on,and when it is on it doesnt sync.All four lights just flash.What am I doing incorrectly? Before it is asked yes this controller & receiver both work in Windows 7
