  • Unable to Hide Update Button in GridView Editing

    Hi, I am using commandfield edit button to edit the row of the gridview. But unable to perform the basics. This gridview is in update panel. When I press Edit button it shows UPDATE and CANCEL button but when I press UPDATE button it updates the DB but UPDATE button doesn't go back to EDIT one. While Cancel is working as it should. Like on pressing CANCEL it goes back to EDIT button, What I am doing worng. Thanks.

  • Update table using SSIS

    I am trying to update a field in a table with data from another table, based on a common key. If it were in straight SQL, it would be something like: Update EHSIT set e.IDMSObjID = s.IDMSObjID from EHSIT e, EHSIDMS s where e.SITENUM = s.SITE_CODE However, the two tables are not in the same database, so I'm trying to use SSIS to do the update. Oh, and the sitenum/site_code are varchar in one and nvarchar in the other, so I'll have to do a data conversion so they'll match. How do I do it? I have a data flow object, with the source as EHSIDMS and the destination as EHSIT. I have a data conversion to convert the unicode to non-unicode. But how do I update based on the match? I've tried with the destination, using a SQL Command as the Data Access mode, but it doesn't appear to have the source table. If I just map the field to be updated, how does it limit it based on fields matching? I'm about to export my source table to Excel or something, and then try inputting from there, although it seems that all that would get me would be to remove the data conversion step. Shouldn't there be an update data task or something? Is it one of those Data Flow transformation tasks, and I'm just not figuring out which it is?

    Hi all, with <property name="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto">update</property> i can create my database schema, it automatically add properties, constraint, key etc... But what about UPDATE the database schema? If i remove some property from my entities, hibernate doesn't remove it, or if i change some constraint, hibernate doesn't touch constraint already created... So, there is a way to make hibernate really update the database schema? Thanks.

    Hi, I'm trying to a create an update statement along the following lines: TABLE car: id | owner_id | type | status An owner can have multiple cars. UPDATE car c SET c.type = 1 WHERE c.owner_id IN ($ids) AND c.status = [1 IF IT EXISTS, ELSE 0] $ids is reasonably small (under 50 values). It seems simple but I can't seem to get my head around it because I can't use a SELECT subquery with an UPDATE to the same table. Anyone? Thanks

  • Why is Windows Update telling me to install Internet Explorer 10 even though it is already installed?

    I have a Windows 7 laptop. For some reason, Windows Update keeps telling me to install Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 even though it is already installed (downloaded from Microsoft website). Whenever I try and install it from Windows Update in order to get rid of it, I receive error 9C48. What is the problem and how do I solve it? (I've noticed several entries for similar problems online, but those are all for Internet Explorer 9). As I said in the comments, my system keeps trying to install the same update when it is shutting down, only failing with the same error. It is hogging my shut down button and wasting time during shutdown. Update: I just went and installed Internet Explorer 11 from the Windows website. However, Windows Update continues to offer me Internet Explorer 10. How can I tell it that the update is in fact installed so that it instead starts offering me updates?

    hope someone can help. I am not extremely computer literate and my brother installed Ubuntu on my Acer net book when my windows crashed irretrievably . I recently (day before yesterday) had a box come up saying an update (i think it was 10 or 11 .something) i followed the instructions to download and install it and now, all my side bar icons have disappeared. I happened upon an Internet connection by chance and have no idea whatsoever how to get them back. This is quite probably a really stupid question and a really easy fix but as i said earlier, i am pretty much a novice, very far from a computer expert! Thanx in advance :o)

    It is putting in the UUID for the boot partition and not the / (root) partition. It's grub2 (1.99-21ubuntu3.1) on Xubuntu 12.04. UPDATE: ? I ran Boot Info Script 0.60, here are results? The boot info script is too big for askubuntu, but is here. The system not booting is on /dev/sdh. The booted disk, Xubuntu 12.04, is /dev/sdb. /sdh2/etc/fstab is at line 1073. The incorrect UUIDs are at line 945 and 954. "blkid" putput is at line 318. It is putting the UUID for "boot" versus "root" in boot.cfg, line 937. I have noticed that the relationship between physical drives and names in /dev vary depending on which system is booted.

    I'm trying to update to 12.10 from a 12.04 machine. When I ran the code sudo do-release-upgrade -d in my terminal and verified my password it checked for a new upgrade. I was then returned with this: gpg: Good signature from "Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key <[email protected]>" gpg: WARNING: This key is not certified with a trusted signature! gpg: There is no indication that the signature belongs to the owner.` There of course is more but it looks like it may or may not be showing private information with it. What's causing this and how do I fix this.

  • Lost Update Anomaly in Sql Server Update Command

    Hi, I am very much confused. I have a transaction in ReadCommitted Isolation level. Among other things I am also updating a counter value in it, something similar to below: Update tblCount set counter = counter + 1 My application is a desktop application and this transaction happens to occur quite frequently and concurrently. We recently noticed an error that sometimes the counter value doesn't get updated or is missed. We also insert one record on each counter update so we are sure that records have been inserted but somehow counter fails to update. This happens once in 2000 simulaneous transactions. I seriously doubt it is a lost update anomaly I am facing but if you look at the command above, it's just update the counter from its own value: if I have started a transaction and the transaction has reached this statement, it should have locked the row. This should not cause lost update, but it's happening somehow. Is the thing that this update command works in two parts? Like first it reads the counter value (during which it doesn't get the exclusive lock) and then writes the new calculated value (when it does get an exclusive lock)? Please help, I have got really confused.

  • Updating to linux-image-3.2.0-26-generic occupies all disk space

    I just ran a normal update through the update manager that wanted to update me to linux-image-3.2.0-26-generic. The installation paused halfway with a message that the root was full. I checked the disk usage, and noticed that one of the newly installed files: /lib/modules/3.2.0-26-generic/modules.ccwmap took up 63GB(!). Compared to the previous version: /lib/modules/3.2.0-24-generic/modules.ccwmap that took up only 4KB it seems like something went awfully wrong! As mentioned the update was paused when i ran out of disk space. There is no option in the update dialog to cancel or perform rollback on the update. Is it asking for trouble to kill the update manager? Any ideas as to what went wrong, and what I can do to remedy it? It's only minimal how much space I can free on that partition (without deleting the above mentioned file). If it is any help, the update was paused after this: Examining /etc/kernel/postinst.d. run-parts: executing /etc/kernel/postinst.d/dkms 3.2.0-26-generic /boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-26-generic

  • Create a CDROM Bootdisk to update BIOS

    So, I have a Tyan Opteron board with a very old BIOS version. I realize Opteron's aren't exactly common like Athlons, Phenoms, Intel CPUs, etc. but my question revolves around updating the BIOS, however I don't have a floppy drive and there's no option to boot off of a USB key. Tyan has incomplete instructions on their website (link) on how to flash the BIOS via USB. So my second tactic has been to create a Windows 98 boot-able CDROM with the flash utilities on it. It's been years since I've made one but after going to sites like bootdisk.com and such I haven't had any success. Can anyone tell me step-by-step how to make a boot-able Windows 98 CDROM?   • Jan 2010 Microsoft update trashed my Win XP (64bit) PC

    I waited until this morning to install these 5 updates. My ancient Win XP (32 bit) PC has no problems but my Win XP 64 bit will not start. From the startup menu none of the 5 options given (e.g. safe mode, last known good configuration, etc) work. After selecting an option, the Windows Logo screen appears. About 9 seconds later a blue screen of death flashes [I can't read the error messages because it's there for about 100 ms] then it cycles through the reboot again. PS: This is a pretty cheap mobo (Ge Force) with an AMD 3 GH chip - but until today it did actually work. What should I do? Reinstall the O/S?

  • Could today's windows update have caused boot problems?

    I have a 64 bit box that is dual boot Windows 7 64bit and Ubuntu. I booted into windows today and saw the 'updates ready' sign on the shutdown button so I clicked to let it install. It took a while to install 2 updates. Then I rebooted but now it doesn't get past the motherboard splash screen. So I don't even get the disks found messages or let alone the prompt to choose windows or Linux. Cold this be caused by the updates? Seems weird for a windows patch to have consequences beyond the windows os, but it seems unlikely to be a coincidence Thanks, Gert-jan

    So, I see similar questions, but none of the answers work for me. I updated Python to 3.1.3 from 2.6.1. Everything works, except: When I type python into Terminal, I get: Python 2.6.1 (r261:67515, Jun 24 2010, 21:47:49) [GCC 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5646)] on darwin Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> So, how do I change the version of Python that runs in the Shell? I've tried the script that they provide. It adds their directory to my $PATH, but it still doesn't change the version that'd displayed from Terminal. Here's what I get when I echo $PATH: /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.1/bin:/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.1/bin:/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.1/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin It appears that the script provided has added their directory for every time I ran the script (I tried it a few times, naturally). I'll gives links to caps of what is in the other relevant folders it mentions: /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.1/bin /usr/local/bin /usr/bin Thakns in advance for any ideas!

  • Return pre-UPDATE column values in PostgreSQL without using triggers, functions or other "magic"

    I have a related question, but this is another part of MY puzzle. I would like to get the OLD VALUE of a Column from a Row that was UPDATEd... WITHOUT using Triggers (nor Stored Procedures, nor any other extra, non-SQL/-query entities). The query I have is like this: UPDATE my_table SET processing_by = our_id_info -- unique to this instance WHERE trans_nbr IN ( SELECT trans_nbr FROM my_table GROUP BY trans_nbr HAVING COUNT(trans_nbr) > 1 LIMIT our_limit_to_have_single_process_grab ) RETURNING row_id If I could do "FOR UPDATE ON my_table" at the end of the subquery, that'd be devine (and fix my other question/problem). But, that won't work: can't have this AND a "GROUP BY" (which is necessary for figuring out the COUNT of trans_nbr's). Then I could just take those trans_nbr's and do a query first to get the (soon-to-be-) former processing_by values. I've tried doing like: UPDATE my_table SET processing_by = our_id_info -- unique to this instance FROM my_table old_my_table JOIN ( SELECT trans_nbr FROM my_table GROUP BY trans_nbr HAVING COUNT(trans_nbr) > 1 LIMIT our_limit_to_have_single_process_grab ) sub_my_table ON old_my_table.trans_nbr = sub_my_table.trans_nbr WHERE my_table.trans_nbr = sub_my_table.trans_nbr AND my_table.processing_by = old_my_table.processing_by RETURNING my_table.row_id, my_table.processing_by, old_my_table.processing_by But that can't work; "old_my_table" is not viewable outside of the join; the RETURNING clause is blind to it. I've long since lost count of all the attempts I've made; I have been researching this for literally hours. If I could just find a bullet-proof way to lock the rows in my subquery - and ONLY those rows, and WHEN the subquery happens - all the concurrency issues I'm trying to avoid disappear... UPDATE: [WIPES EGG OFF FACE] Okay, so I had a typo in the non-generic code of the above that I wrote "doesn't work"; it does... thanks to Erwin Brandstetter, below, who stated it would, I re-did it (after a night's sleep, refreshed eyes, and a banana for bfast). Since it took me so long/hard to find this sort of solution, perhaps my embarrassment is worth it? At least this is on SO for posterity now... : What I now have (that works) is like this: UPDATE my_table SET processing_by = our_id_info -- unique to this instance FROM my_table AS old_my_table WHERE trans_nbr IN ( SELECT trans_nbr FROM my_table GROUP BY trans_nbr HAVING COUNT(*) > 1 LIMIT our_limit_to_have_single_process_grab ) AND my_table.row_id = old_my_table.row_id RETURNING my_table.row_id, my_table.processing_by, old_my_table.processing_by AS old_processing_by The COUNT(*) is per a suggestion from Flimzy in a comment on my other (linked above) question.   • Large number of UPDATE queries slowing down page

    I am reading and validating large fixed-width text files (range from 10-50K lines) that are submitted via our ASP.net website (coded in VB.Net). I do an initial scan of the file to check for basic issues (line length, etc). Then I import each row into a MS SQL table. Each DB rows basically consists of a record_ID (Primary, auto-incrementing) and about 50 varchar fields. After the insert is done, I run a validation function on the file that checks each field in each row based on a bunch of criteria (trimmed length, isnumeric, range checks, etc). If it finds an error in any field, it inserts a record into the Errors table, which has an error_ID, the record_ID and an error message. In addition, if the field fails in a particular way, I have to do a "reset" on that field. A reset might consist of blanking the entire field, or simply replacing the value with another value (e.g. replacing the string with a new one that has all illegals chars taken out). I have a 5,000 line test file. The upload, initial check, and import takes about 5-6 seconds. The detailed error check and insert into the Errors table takes about 5-8 seconds (this file has about 1200 errors in it). However, the "resets" part takes about 40-45 seconds for 750 fields that need to be reset. When I comment out the resets function (returning immediately without actually calling the UPDATE stored proc), the process is very fast. With the resets turned on, the pages take 50 seconds to return. My UPDATE stored proc is using some recommended code from http://sommarskog.se/dynamic_sql.html, whereby it uses CASE instead of dynamic SQL: UPDATE dbo.Records SET dbo.Records.file_ID = CASE @field_name WHEN 'file_ID' THEN @field_value ELSE file_ID END, . . (all 50 varchar field CASE statements here) . WHERE dbo.Records.record_ID = @record_ID Is there any way I can help my performance here. Can I somehow group all of these UPDATE calls into a single transaction? Should I be reworking the UPDATE query somehow? Or is it just sheer quantity of 750+ UPDATEs and things are just slow (it's a quad proc server with 8GB ram). Any suggestions appreciated.

  • Update iPhone UIProgressView during NSURLConnection download.

    I am using this code: NSURLConnection *oConnection=[[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:oRequest delegate:self]; to download a file, and I want to update a progress bar on a subview that I load. For that, I use this code: - (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data { [oReceivedData appendData:data]; float n = oReceivedData.length; float d = self.iTotalSize; NSNumber *oNum = [NSNumber numberWithFloat:n/d]; self.oDPVC.oProgress.progress = [oNum floatValue]; } The subview is oDPVC, and the progress bar on it is oProgress. Setting the progress property does not update the control. From what I have read on the Web, lots of people want to do this and yet there is not a complete, reliable sample. Also, there is much contradictory advice. Some people think that you don't need a separate thread. Some say you need a background thread for the progress update. Some say no, do other things in the background and update the progress on the main thread. I've tried all the advice, and none of it works for me. One more thing, maybe this is a clue. I use this code to load the subview during applicationDidFinishLaunching: self.oDPVC = [[DownloadProgressViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"DownloadProgressViewController" bundle:nil]; [window addSubview:self.oDPVC.view]; In the XIB file (which I have examined in both Interface Builder and in a text editor) the progress bar is 280 pixels wide. But when the view opens, it has somehow been adjusted to maybe half that width. Also, the background image of the view is default.png. Instead of appearing right on top of the default image, it is shoved up about 10 pixels, leaving a white bar across the bottom of the screen. Maybe that's a separate issue, maybe not.

    I have Fedora 11 and trying to get Xen working (which I think it is already) but the Virtual Machine Manager cannot find the hypervisor. When starting Virtual Machine Manager, I receive the following error Error determining default hypervisor. Could not populate a default connection. Make sure the appropriate virtualization packages are installed (kvm, qemu, etc.) and that libvirtd has been restarted to notice the change. A hypervisor connection can be manually added via File - Add Connection I've restarted libvirtd a few times and tried connecting manually but can't work it out.   • "Mem Usage" higher than "VM Size" in WinXP Task Manager

    In my Windows XP Task Manager, some processes display a higher value in the Mem Usage column than the VMSize. My Firefox instance, for example shows 111544 K as mem usage and 100576 K as VMSize. According to the help file of Task Manager Mem Usage is the working set of the process and VMSize is the committed memory in the Virtual address space. My question is, if the number of committed pages for a process is A and the number of pages in physical memory for the same process is B, shouldn't it always be B = A? Isn't the number of pages in physical memory per process a subset of the committed pages? Or is this something to do with sharing of memory among processes? Please explain. (Perhaps my definition of 'Working Set' is off the mark). Thanks.
