hi when i write css or html i found that i want add two name like this
web-development
web_development
which one is better according SEO or write style name, file name or image name.
The beginnings of a site here:
http://qaa.miltonfame.org/
html and css pass validation tests
Page displays fine in all Mac browsers I have tried (Safari, Firefox, Camino)
Page displays fine in Windows 7 FireFox
Nothing but background renders in Explorer 8 Windows 7 (and in other Explorer versions via screenshot services.) View Source shows that Explorer is getting the content - it's just not appearing on screen.
No idea how to approach addressing this - any suggestions would REALLY be appreciated.
Thanks a million.
i tried to search in google but no one talked about this.
i want a css solution to create a liquid tag box like the orange ones in this :
http://www.mixx.com/stories/10402914/haiti_us_gov_t_grants_matching_3_to_1_donations_to_worldvision_for_haiti
so, even if the word is long the tag box will fit it.
i want the same shape
Thanks
I have a div (.header) contained within other divs. When my page loads, momentarily just that one .header div "flashes" white as the page is loading, especially in in Firefox, but a little bit in IE8 too. I can't find what kind of CSS or lack thereof is causing this - there's no images or background color associated with that div. There is a logo.png within the .header. Thoughts?

here is the html
<td class="style 4">
<select name="ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$ucPromotions1$ddlCompany"
id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_ucPromotions1_ddlCompany"
style="height:25px;width:167px;">
</td>
the style 4:

{
width: 185px;
}
what could be the problem?
I have a background image on top of which there is some text.
It is very hard to read the text because of the background.
I would like to add a white background just around the text itself, such that the text could be easily read. How can I accomplish this using CSS/Javascript/jQuery ?
May websites, including professional ones usually have a "W3C Markup Validator" and "W3C CSS Validator." Why do you put them there? Is it just pride or is it justified? If it is more than pride, what justifies them?
Do you know any good article on "When to use display:block when :inline and when :inline-block" and why?
and when we will have to override display:?? through css for any HTML tag/element?
I want to implement the 1140grid at my site. The layout is pretty simple:
100% header
25% sidebar 75% page
100% footer
see also http://jsfiddle.net/KB5Nq/
the problem is that i would like to change the stack order when the site is in mobile view:
100% header
100% page
100% sidebar
100% footer
however, by default it arranges the blocks in the same order as they appear in the source code: header, sidebar, page, footer.
is there an easy css-only fix for that?
I want all .jpg links to have a certain background image. so a link on a page like 'http://mysite/myimage.jpg' would automatically be prefixed with a small icon. Actually all links to images, ie .gif .png as well with the same icon. If the link is to a website, ie .htm/.php/.html/.asp it should have a different image. I want it to be through classes in CSS. Any help appreciated. TIA
I need to hide a column as well as other elements when my page is printed , and in order to do that I have a print style sheet, everything works fine, except for the column I want to make disappear, the strange thing is that my stylesheet works in IE , but it didn't in Mozilla and chrome, why's that?
Html code
<col width="10%" class="art-editcolumn"/>
and here's the CSS class:
.art-editcolumn
{
display: none;
}
Hope you can help me out with this.

Hi All,

THanks
I have a div container with 3 div elements inside (A, B, and C). I'll know the width of the container and the width of A and B) the problem is that in some cases B won't be there in which case I need C to expand to fill the rest of the container. How would I do this with straight css or am I going to need to use javascript to calculate the width?
Thanks.
Hi, when I make in my site, it displays a tiny line, which can be hidden on some elements because I'm usually using them on CSS buttons, but I have an if statement that says if this show the result if not show a non breaking space.

Hi
In a div I gave overflow auto to have a scroll bar to display the content that exceeds the limit
My scroll bar appears in blue color that doesn't suit my layout how can i change the color
div#navigation{background:#efe9b9; overflow:auto}
This is the css i am using ... I want brown colored scrll bar
How to get it
I have a form with a lot of fields. I want it to be neat and easy to use. I found this site that theorizes about an updated e-bay registration form and I liked what e-bay was doing.
So... what html/css do I need to get a form to look like the form on the right:
I have a div whose height span 2 rows. But I want to the following div fit into the bottom left and bottom right corner:
http://jsfiddle.net/netnet/NNH6V/
before browse, please drag the splitter to left and you will see the checkbox2 and "2222222222" could be fit into bottom left and bottom right perfectly.
I can use the relative position(.VerticalUp class). But the problem is it will leave a empty row underneath, which I don't want.
Any idea?
<a href="facebook.com/sharer" target="_blank" >Share this</a>
How do I make this a certain width and height, in a new window, when the user clicks on it?
In firefox, the current code only opens up a new tab (not a new window)
<td style="width:230px;overflow:hidden;">
<?php echo $something; ?>
</td>
What I'm doing is to cut $something to 2 rows at most,and add ... when necessary,
but this kind of requirement seems clue less when trying to implement,
Solutions within the scope of php/javascript/css are appreciated!
anyone has ideas?
Is there any way to stick child button element to bottom of parent element when number of child elements vary?
Parent element is fixed height, and could be scrolled vertically in case of child overflow. In that case, button should be at the end of child list, but in case there is no children, or children size don't push parent element to overflow, it should be at bottom of parent element.
Is there pure css solution for this?
Thanks
