  • PHP String to Float

    I am not familiar with PHP at all and had a quick question. I have 2 variables @pricePerUnit and @invoicedUnits. Here's the code that is setting these to values: $InvoicedUnits = ((string) $InvoiceLineItem->InvoicedUnits); $pricePerUnit = ((string) $InvoiceLineItem->PricePerUnit); If I output this, I get the correct values. Lets say 5000 invoiced units and 1.00 for price. Now, I need to show the total amount spent. When I multiply these two together it doesn't work (as expected, these are strings). But I have no clue how to parse/cast/convert variables in PHP. What should I do?

  • Removing an element from an array (PHP)

    I want to remove an element from a PHP array (and shrink the array size). Just looking at the PHP docs, it seems this can be done using array_slice() and array_merge() so I am guessing (off the top of my head) that some combination of array_merge() and array_slice will work. However, array_slice() requires an index (not a key), so I'm not sure how to quickly cobble these functions together for a solution. Has anyone implemented such a function before?. I'm sure it must be only a few lines long, but I cant somehow get my head around it (its been one of those days) ... Actually, I just came up with this cheesy hack when writing up this question.... function remove_from_array(array $in, value) { return array_diff($in, (array)$value); } too ugly? or will it work (without any shocking side effects)?

  • PHP Losing variable data

    Hi, I'm having an issue with PHP losing data in a variable. There is quite a bit of data in the variable, because it basically contains a binary file, but I'm wondering if this is cause for it to completely lose it's information. Looking at a snippet from my code which is used to deal with email attachments: var_dump($data) if (array_key_exists('filename', $params) || array_key_exists('name', $params)) { var_dump($data) ... } The first var_dump gives the desired output of the file: "string(283155) " --Apple-Mail-5-930065543 ... etc while the second gives an output of: string(0) "" ... string(0) "" Any idea why this is happening? Does PHP just drop data in variables if they are really large? (I didn't think so, as I've never had this problem before) If so, any workaround? Thanks!

  • edited and reversed changes on .htaccess - site starts redirecting to .comindex.php/

    Site is a Joomla 2.5 site. I wanted to add a non www to www redirect to the htaccess file, did so, then the redirection went mad, reversed but still the site redirects. When i click view site in admin panel, i get linked to http://domain.comindex.php/ The website is http://www.domain.com Visiting the website URL works without www, but once you click on projects it acts mad too. Projects is managed with joomshopping extension.     I'm trying to write some simple php code that will make a post request and then retrieve a JSON result from the server. I'm trying to connect to a development server I'm running in Visual Studio, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the timeout/connection issues. Open to any suggestions here as long as they are built in PHP.

Am I missing something? (business name, person first, person last, address, city, state, zip) a "1" and "2" of each. Now I want to search the DB and locate listed victims.     I need a little help with an if statement in php. I'm trying to set a variable called offset according to a page that I am loading in WordPress. Here's the variable: $offset = ($paged * 6); What it does is it loads the first page, which is: http://example.com/blog and $offset is thus set to 0 because $paged is referring to the appending number on the URL. The second page, for example is: http://example.com/blog/2/ which makes $offset set to 12. The problem is, I need the second page to define $offset as 6, the third page to define $offset as 12, etc. I tried using: $offset = ($paged * 6 - 6) which works except on the first page. On the first page it defines $offset as -6. SO, I wanted to create an if statement that says if $paged is equal to 0 then $offset is equal to 0, else $offset is equal to ($paged * 6 - 6). I struggle with syntax, even though I understand what needs to be done here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    I have a series of PHP statements that I only want to run if javaScript is enabled. if($js_enabled == 'yes') { //Run a series of PHP statements } My problem is that I want to create that $js_enabled variable with javaScript. Therefore, if javaScript is enabled, the variable will be created and the PHP statements will be run, but if javaScript is not enabled, the variable will never be created and the PHP statements will not run. How can I create a variable with JavaScript that PHP can recognize?
