  • Upload and parse csv file with "universal newline" in python on Google App Engine

    Hi, I'm uploading a csv/tsv file from a form in GAE, and I try to parse the file with python csv module. Like describe here, uploaded files in GAE are strings. So I treat my uploaded string a file-like object : file = self.request.get('catalog') catalog = csv.reader(StringIO.StringIO(file),dialect=csv.excel_tab) But new lines in my files are not necessarily '\n' (thanks to excel..), and it generated an error : Error: new-line character seen in unquoted field - do you need to open the file in universal-newline mode? Does anyone know how to use StringIO.StringIO to treat strings like files open in universal-newline?

  • Google app engine and paging

    How would one go about writing a query that selects items 2000-2010 out of a collection of 10000 objects in the data store. I know that it can be done like this in GQL: select * from MyObject limit 10 offset 2000 According to the documentation, when using an offset the engine will still fetch all the rows, only not return them, thus making the query perform in a way that corresponds linearly with the value of offset. Is there any better way? Such as using a pseudo ROWNUM column like one could do in other types of data stores.

Also I faced many problems like the below, because I added the document.querySelector() inside the <head> part: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'addEventListener' of null Now I have the below source, where I am able to Check Notification Support, and Check Notification Permissions links. Guide me how to bring in notifications in a simpler way. After searching around for a while I couldnt come up with any libraries with decent examples. Are there any dedicated libraries with some decent examples / doco to do this sort of thing? I would like to target 1.6 but if the are 2.0 only I guess that is fine too.

  • Running Multiple Google App Engine Apps from one Domain

    I would like to have the following: myrootsite.appspot.com myrootsite.appspot.com/app1 myrootsite.appspot.com/app2 etc. Is this possible? I know I could just make /app1 be handled by app1, but then the redirects and everything wouldn't work unless I explicitly used redirect('/app1') instead of the current redirect('/'). Is there a way I can just upload my current apps (app1, app2, etc.) to the root site and have them work regularly? Thanks in advance

    Hi, I have tried to work this regex to set up a goal in GA for 2 days, but I cannot get my head around it... The url format is like this: /purchase.php?cDd=1&transaction_id=xxxxxxx&verify=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx=&method=creditcard&type=purchase transaction_id= is populated with a sept of numbers verify= is populated by a string of numbers, letters in both caps and lower case Basically I would like to only match URLs which finish by "&method=creditcard&type=purchase" I have tried to just put &method=creditcard&type=purchase but it does retrieve other URLs too Would anyone has any ideas

  • Bulkloading schema less entities on Google App Engine

    The new bulkloader added into SDK 1.3.4 works great for models that have a schema. For models inheriting db.Expando (or loosely defined schemas) i would like to understand what i would have to do to bulk upload them. I defined a custom connector, that implemented the ConnectorInterface and converted my data to the python dict required. How can i use this dict to define entities that get uploaded to the data store ? In the documentation there seems to be a post_import_function that can be used to return the entities that get uploaded. Is there an example on how this function is used ?

    At face value, it would seem that object initializers present a problem for .net 4.0 "code contracts", where normally the invariant should be established by the time the object constructor is finished. Presumably, however, object-initializers require properties to be set after construction is complete. My question is if the invariants of "code contracts" are able to handle object initializers, "as if" the properties were set before the constructor completes? That would be very nice indeed!!

    I'm having problems with cache, I think. I have a website in Joomla, and I have some .css (layout.css, position.css, .... ) and I have at home of the website, 3 buttons, I tested in localhost, and when I see the home well, I upload everything to production, to my server. Now, I just edited some styles of these buttons, for example, the width, in order to see them better...but I'm having a problem with the cache, because sometimes I see them with new changes, but other times I see with the old styles.....I realized that this happens especially with chrome Could you help me, please? Dir structure: /app/static/css/main.css App: I have two handlers one for /app and one for /app/new app.yaml: handlers: - url: /static static_dir: static - url: /app/static/(.*) static_dir: static\1 - url: /app/.* script: app.py login: required HTML: Description: When page is loaded from /app HTTP request for main.css is successful GET /static/css/main.css But when page is loaded from /app/new I see the following request: GET /app/static/css/main.cs That's when I tried adding the /app/static/(.*) in the app.yaml but it is not having any effect.

  • Can I use a Google Appliance/Mini to crawl and index sites I don't own?

    Maybe this is a stupid question, but... I am working with this company and they said they needed to get "permission" to crawl other people's sites. They have a Google Search Appliance And some Google Minis and want to point them at other sites to aggregate content. The end result will be something like a targeted search engine. (All the indexed sites relate to a specific topic) The only thing they will be doing is: Indexing Content from the other sites/domains Providing search functionality on their own site that searches the indexed content (like Google, displaying summaries and not the full content) The search results will provide links back to the original content Their intent is not malicious in nature, and is to provide a single site/resource for people to reference on their given topic. Is there anything illegal or fishy about this process?

  • supress warning for generated c# code

    I have turned on "Treat warnings as errors" for my VS project which mean that I get errors for missing documentation (nice reminder for this particular project). However, part of the code is generated by a custom tool which does not insert xml documentation so I'm looking for away to ignore the missing xml documentation for the generated code only, not for the entire project. I have no influence on the actual file generated and cannot really insert anything in the file (as it is regenerated frequently by the tool) so I looking for something existing outside the generated file (the classes that are generated are partial, if that helps)
