  • Returning the value of an identity column during/after INSERT command

    Using VS 2010, with ASP.NET, and .NET 3.0, and C#... When I use a System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSource and call its Insert() method to insert a new row, and that table has an identity column, I'd like my method to return the value of that column. For example, in my SQL 2005 table, I've got: Customer.Id Customer.FirstName Customer.LastName Where Customer.Id is an identity colum. When I call my method InsertNewCustomerRecord( "John", "Smith" ), I'd like to be able to return the Customer.Id that gets automatically generated in the database. Sorry for such a roughly posed question. Let me know if I can add better detail. Thanks.

  • glassfish starts only from the netbeans IDE and not from the command prompt

    i have installed the netbeans version 6.8 with glassfish version 3 on a redhat machine. the thing is that when i try starting/stopping the glassfish via the netbeans, it works fine, BUT when i try starting the glassfish via: ./asadmin stop-domain domain1 i get the error "GlassFish requires Java SE version 6. Your JDK is version 4" i have got only one JDK instance installed rpm -qa | grep jdk will return "jdk-1.6.0_18-fcs" any ideas ?

So a select on this single field from to rows will output 3 lines for first row and 2 lines for second row: Row1 designationer nye kolonier mindre byer Row2 udsteder bopladser I would like to do a select that select all these lines as if they had been rows in the table like: SELECT do_the_split(field) FROM table so the result would be more like: Row1 designationer Row2 nye kolonier Row3 mindre byer Row4 udsteder Row5 bopladser is there any way to do this in MySQL?     HI, I am parsing an XML file using LibXML in Perl. The problem that I have is the ending characters (whitespace) is treated as a text node. For instance, given an input like the following abc 123 The parser thinks that the number of child of node "books" is 3, they are: - text node (containing the char between and - element node of "book" - text node (containing the char between and Question is how do I tell LibXML to ignore whitespaces? I tried with no_blanks (that is $parser = XML::LibXML-new(no_blanks = 1) when construction the parser) but it seems that it has no effect. Thanks in advance

Each row of the table contains "edit" button that submits changed values of the row to the server. It has the item itself as an attribute. Submit is performed by calling actionListener method in the backing managed bean. This code runs correctly on Glassfish v 2.1 But when the server was updated to Glassfish v 2.1.1, the attribute stopped to be passed correctly. Instead of passing edited item (when we change the values in table row, we are actually changing the underlying object fields), the source item is submitted to server, i.e. the item that was previously given to the page. All the changes that were made on the page are discarded. I tried to update jsf version from 1.2_02 to 1.2_14 (we are using jsf RI), but it had no effect. Perhaps anyone came across the same problem? Any help and suggestions will be appreciated.

    I am trying to get munin to notify me via email. I have configured munin and it reports critical and warning values but no alerts are being sent neither is any script being called. Can you please help me out with this? To get this value I am using below regex regex => q/^process,(?:.*?),((?:\d+)\.(?:\d+))%,java$/, but for the linux system I have below output. process,26190,user1,20,0,1236m,43m,6436,S,0.0,1.1,0:00.00,java, here the cpu usage is at 10th column What regex pattern should i use to get this value. Of course, I could start playing around with the margins until they match up, but since this is such a common requirement I'm sure that WPF provides a much easier and more elegant solution, which I just haven't found yet...

Access is denied The SQL service is running under "Network Service" account The service starts fine if I use the services window. Could somebody help me figure out why I am receiving this error?

    I'm trying to come up with a regex to be able to parse the following type of strings into groups. <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="[!PageTitle!]" href="[!SiteRoot!]/feed.xml" /> My regular expression is: \[\!(.+)\!\] The problem with this expression is that it seems to pull it all into 1 group: Found 1 match: "[!PageTitle!]" href="[!SiteRoot!]" has 1 group: 1. "PageTitle!]" href="[!SiteRoot" I want dont want the regex to continue...am I missing a boundary? Ideally I want it to find 2 groups, [!PageTitle!] and [!SiteRoot!]

Instead of having to highlight a query, is there a way I can run the single query my cursor is on, or run a query my cursor is on up to a the first ';'?

    Our application lets users call phone numbers. Users would like to be able to block their caller ID. On other platforms, we let the user specify a custom dialing prefix. For instance, on my cell provider it's #31#. I've tried two approaches so far.     I'm building a custom db deployment utility, I need to read text files containing sql scripts and execute them against the database. Pretty easy stuff, so far so good. However I've encountered a snag, the contents of the file are read successfully and entirely, but once passed into the SqlCommand and then executed with SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery only part of the script is executed.
