  • Using object's method as callback function for $.post

    - by Kirzilla
    Hello, $.Comment = function() { this.alertme = "Alert!"; } $.Comment.prototype.send = function() { var self = this; $.post( self.url, { 'somedata' : self.somedata }, function(data, self) { self.callback(data); } ); } $.Comment.prototype.callback = function(data) { alert(this.alertme); } When I'm calling $.Comment.send() debugger is saying to me that self.callback(data) is not a function What am I doing wrong? Thank you

  • JQuery: Hover to show/hide individual object

    - by noe ruiz
    Basically I need to hover over an anchor to display the "data-meta" div. Works just fine but when there's multiple td and divs, one hover displays all of them. My question is how can I show/hide them individually? Code snippets below. <td> <a href="#">Item</a> <div class="data-meta"> <a href="#">Edit</a> | <a href="#">Disable</a> | <a href="#">Delete</a> </div> $(document).ready(function(){ $("td").hover( function () { $('.data-meta').show(); }, function () { $('.data-meta').hide(); }); });

  • Converting keys of an array/object-tree to lowercase

    - by tstenner
    Im currently optimizing a PHP application and found one function being called around 10-20k times, so I'd thought I'd start optimization there. function keysToLower($obj) { if(!is_object($obj) && !is_array($obj)) return $obj; foreach($obj as $key=>$element) { $element=keysToLower($element); if(is_object($obj)) { $obj->{strtolower($key)}=$element; if(!ctype_lower($key)) unset($obj->{$key}); } else if(is_array($obj) && ctype_upper($key)) { $obj[strtolower($key)]=$element; unset($obj[$key]); } } return $obj; } Most of the time is spent in recursive calls (which are quite slow in PHP), but I don't see any way to convert it to a loop. What would you do?

  • Testing local scoped object with mockito without refactoring

    - by supertonsky
    Say I have the following code: public class ClassToTest { AnotherClass anotherClass; public void methodToTest( int x, int y ) { int z = x + y anotherClass.receiveSomething( z ); } } public class AnotherClass { public void receiveSomething( int z ) {.. do something.. } } I want to make assertion on the value of the variable z. How do I do this? Variables x, y, and z could be some other Java class types, and I just used "int" for simplicity.

  • Kepping object in memory (iPhone SDK)

    - by Chris
    I am trying to create a UIImageView called theImageView in the touchesBegan method that I can then then move to a new location in touchesMoved. Currently I am receiving an "undeclared" error in touchesMoved where I set the new location for theImageView. What can I do to keep theImageView in memory between these two methods? - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { ... UIImageView *theImageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"image.png"]]; theImageView.frame = CGRectMake(263, 228, 193, 300); [theImageView retain]; ... } - (void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { ... theImageView.frame = CGRectMake(300, 300, 193, 300); ... }

  • C++ - Creating a god object

    - by Greg Kritzman
    Hypothetical situation that I'm struggling to get my head past. HoldsFooBar.h: #include "foo.h" #include "bar.h" class HoldsFooBar{ foo F; bar B; }; foo.h: //includes? class foo{ HoldsFooBar *H; void Baz(); }; bar.h: //includes? class bar{ HoldsFooBar *H; void Qux(); }; I'm trying to get F to get a hold of B. In all other languages I've worked with, I would be able to H->B.Qux();, but I'm totally lost in C++. At the includes lines in foo.h and bar.h, it seems like my options are to forward-declare class HoldsFooBar; but then I can only access H, and F and B cannot see each other. Likewise, I can #include "HoldsFooBar.h" but because of my include guards, something ends up not getting linked properly, so the program doesn't run. Is what I'm trying to do even possible? Thank you very much! Any help would be appreciated!

  • a good resource or book for architecting object-oriented software

    - by Ygam
    I have looked at a couple of books and all I have looked at were just discussing the technicalities of OOP. By technicalities I mean, here's a concept, here's some code, now get working. I have yet to see a book that discusses the architectural process, what are the ways of doing this, why doing this is bad, how to actually incorporate design patterns in a real-world project, etc. Can you recommend a good resource or book? I am mainly programming with PHP but a language-agnostic book/resource would do :)

  • How to convert a 2-d array into a dictionary object

    - by Nikron
    Hi, I have an array of type string that looks like this: "test1|True,test2|False,test3|False,test4|True". This is essentially a 2d array like so [test1][True] [test2][False] [test3][False] [test4][True]. I want to convert this into a dictionary<string,bool> using linq, something like: Dictionary<string, bool> myResults = results.Split(",".ToCharArray).ToDictionary() any ideas?

  • How to access object from array in if condition

    - by Happy
    Accesing array objects in javascript OBJ_ARRAY[j][i] = { "x1": w * i, "y1": h * j, "x2": w * (i + 1), "cell_color": "blue", "y2": h * (j + 1), "name": (i + 1 * (j * 10)) + 1, "z-index": 10, "status":isnotactive } I have this cell array and all its x1,y1 x2,y2 are generated dynamically. for eg. if want to compare OBJ_ARRAY[5][5].x110 then alert if(( OBJ_ARRAY[5][5].x1) > 10)) ; { alert("Done"); } It does not work any idea how it can be fixed?

  • Removing random object from parent CCprite

    - by Natty
    probably this is a simple problem to solve, since I'm quite new. I have a scene with a waiter holding a tray of food (the food is a random CCSprite choosen from an array) each time he comes onscreen he holds a new piece of food (the user touches the food and the waiter walks off to return again with a new piece of food however I cant seem to delete the old peice of food from the screen as it says the child is already added... any help would be great -(id) init { ///other code then... waiterOnSCreen = [CCSprite spriteWithSpriteFrameName:@"CatUP.png"]; waiterOnSCreen.position = ccp(CatOffSCreenPosX, catXpos); [self addChild:waiterOnSCreen z:0]; //moving the waiter // the random food sprite is added later to the waiter // [waiterOnSCreen addChild:myRandomSprite]; } -(void)LoadRandomFood { ///I make my array here then... int i = arc4random() % [RandomFood count]; myRandomSprite = (CCSprite *)[RandomFood objectAtIndex:i]; //waiterOnSCreen is a CCSprite added on the init [waiterOnSCreen addChild:myRandomSprite]; myRandomSprite.position=ccp(290,220); myRandomSprite.tag = RandomFoodTag; } } later in if(CGRectContainsPoint(waiterOnSCreen.boundingBox, location)) { //trying to remove the food here //Ive already tried to remove the sprite using [self removeChildByTag:RandomeObjectTag]; //and also CCSprite *wantedSprite = (CCSprite *)[self getChildByTag:RandomFoodTag]; [wantedSprite removeFromParentAndCleanup:YES]; } }

  • Passing Request Object into Service Layer

    - by SpringTrickery
    In a spring mvc + spring core app, we have have a view layers, a facade, a service layer, a dao layer and a stored-proc based persistance layer. The service layer is unaware of the clients that utilitize its methods. Is it fine to propagate raw http requests into the service layer? Or is it bad practice and a violation of the loose coupling principles? If it is, then what's a clean workaround?

  • How to maintain 2 lists of object

    - by michael
    Hi, My c++ program needs to maintain 2 list of objects. list inuse; list free; So objects A can even in 'inuse' list or in 'free' list, but not both. http://www.cplusplus.com/reference/stl/list/ I am think of using 'list' as the data structure for my lists. My questions are 1. why i can't randomly access an elmenet in the list, I look at the above api, I don't see a way to get inuse[2]; 2. How can I remove an element in the list? There is an erase(), but how can I use it to remove element #2? And after I remove element 2? will STL list fill the erased spot automatically? e.g. #3 will become #2, #4 will become #3 and so on? Thank you.

  • C++ function object terminology functor, deltor, comparitor, etc..

    - by Robert S. Barnes
    Is there a commonly accepted terminology for various types for common functors? For instance I found myself naturally using comparitor for comparison functors like this: struct ciLessLibC : public std::binary_function<std::string, std::string, bool> { bool operator()(const std::string &lhs, const std::string &rhs) const { return strcasecmp(lhs.c_str(), rhs.c_str()) < 0 ? 1 : 0; } }; Or using the term deltor for something like this: struct DeleteAddrInfo { void operator()(const addr_map_t::value_type &pr) const { freeaddrinfo(pr.second); } }; If using these kinds of shorthand terms is common, it there some dictionary of them all someplace?

  • Join data from two Lists into one object

    - by Petr Mensik
    I ran into following situation and I am wondering about best solution. Let's say I have List<Object1> and List<Object2>, these lists are result of two separated queries. Both of them have the same size and there is relationship 1:1 between elements in the lists based on ID. I know that best solution would be fetching data in one DB query but that's possible right now. So my question is, what is the best way to join these lists into let's say List<Object3>?

  • Java Object Array item to String Array

    - by user341264
    Say I have the following: Class myclass { public string stra ="", strb = "" myclass(String a, String b){stra=a;strb=b} } //then in the app I want to do: myclass myclassinst1 = new myclass("blah","xxxx"); myclass myclassinst2 = new myclass("blah2","yyyy"); myclass myclassinst3 = new myclass("blah3","zzzz"); list <myclass> mylist = new ArrayList<myclass>(); mylist.add(myclassinst1 ); mylist.add(myclassinst2 ); mylist.add(myclassinst3 ); //How would I then convert that to a String[] Array of all the stra elements without using a loop. //eg: String[] strarr_a = mylist.toarray(myclass.stra); String[] strarr_b = mylist.toarray(myclass.strb); //instead of having to do String[] strarr_a = new String[mylist.size()]; String[] strarr_b = new String[mylist.size()]; for (int i=0;i<mylist.size();i++) { strarr_a[i] = mylist.get(i).stra; strarr_b[i] = mylist.get(i).strb; }

  • Generate Spring bean definition from a Java object

    - by joeslice
    Let's suggest that I have a bean defined in Spring: <bean id="neatBean" class="com..." abstract="true">...</bean> Then we have many clients, each of which have slightly different configuration for their 'neatBean'. The old way we would do it was to have a new file for each client (e.g., clientX_NeatFeature.xml) that contained a bunch of beans for this client (these are hand-edited and part of the code base): <bean id="clientXNeatBean" parent="neatBean"> <property id="whatever" value="something"/> </bean> Now, I want to have a UI where we can edit and redefine a client's neatBean on the fly. My question is: given a neatBean, and a UI that can 'override' properties of this bean, what would be a straightforward way to serialize this to an XML file as we do [manually] today? For example, if the user set property whatever to be "17" for client Y, I'd want to generate: <bean id="clientYNeatBean" parent="neatBean"> <property id="whatever" value="17"/> </bean> Note that moving this configuration to a different format (e.g., database, other-schema'd-xml) is an option, but not really an answer to the question at hand.

  • Injecting single-use object into class

    - by moteutsch
    I have the following code: <?php class X { public function do($url) { $httpRequest = new \HttpRequest\Curl($url, $this->getOptions()); $httpRequest->fire(); // etc. } // ... } In order to be able to unit test this class, I'd like to inject a mocked HttpRequest class. One way to do this would be as follows: <?php class X { private $httpRequestClass; public function __construct($httpRequestClass = '\HttpRequest\Curl') { $this->httpRequestClass = $httpRequestClass; } public function do($url) { $httpRequest = new $this->httpRequestClass($url, $this->getOptions()); $httpRequest->fire(); // etc. } // ... } But this doesn't seem right. Any other ideas?

  • Where Not In OR Except simulation of SQL in LINQ to Object(C#)

    - by Thinking
    Suppose I have two lists that holds the list of source file names and destination file names respectively. The Sourcefilenamelist has files as 1.txt, 2.txt,3.txt, 4.txt while the Destinaitonlist has 1.txt,2.txt. I ned to write a linq query to find out which files are in SourceList that are absent in DestinationFile list. e.g. here the out put will be 3.txt and 4.txt. I have done this by a foreach statement.. but now I want to do the same by using LINQ(C#). Help needed. Thanks
