• "mobile"-blogging - any ideas/existing solutions?

  hi does anyone know any sort of app that lets users visit a page on their mobile phone, enter information and have it update the website i believe the term is "mobile-blogging" but there isn't all that much on google or, is there any good resources for coding pages specifically for a mobile phone? I could probably design a script to insert blog posts on a site but not sure how it would work with a mobile. thanks for any pointers

  Is there a possibility to create any python object that will be not sortable? So that will be an exception when trying to sort a list of that objects? I created a very simple class, didn't define any comparison methods, but still instances of this class are comparable and thus sortable. Maybe, my class inherits comparison methods from somewhere. But I don't want this behaviour.

• Show a DB as a directory (Like Sharepoint Does)

  Hi, My team and I are programming a sort of Document Manager and the idea is to store them completely on DB. Is there a protocol or Extensions that allows us to show a "Virtual Directory" or files that are really non existent (only in DB). How does Sharepoint do this? I understand that Sharepoint uses WebDav but it implies that the files do exist physically somewhere. We intend to develop this application on .NET 4.0 and deploy it on IIS. Any suggestions?   Hi, could someone recommend a PHP form validation library (that works independently outside of any php framework) that apart from doing all sort of basic validation (is empty, vs regex, is email, is alphanumeric and so on) can produce javascript code (ideally to work with jquery) to validate the very same form with the very same rules client-side and hence define validation rules in a single place and have a form validated both server and client side? • OpenNETCF.Net.Ftp Behaving Flaky

  I tried posting on their boards (authors of this library), however it literally takes months for them to reply when it comes to the free software (can't blame them). But anyways I have found that this library is behaving weirdly - for instance, a major problem with my application is when someone is trying to sign in (through FTP), they provide a correct login and mistype the password, no reply is received from FTP server. I tried doing the same from command window just to verify that it's not the FTP server's fault; and FTP commands were received instantaneously. It almost looks as though this library eats the commands. The same actions often times will yield different results. Can anyone recommend a stable, reliable library to use with Compact framework? Or shed some light on this issue...?

I'm talking about applets like this http://dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust/ I'm really interested in how they work, it seems more like fluid-dynamics than regular game physics.   Let's say I have the following workflow with Mercurial: stable (clone on server) default (branch) development (clone on server) default (branch) bugs (branch) developer1 (clone on local machine) developer2 (clone on local machine) developer3 (clone on local machine) feature1 (branch) developer3 (clone on local machine) feature2 (branch) developer1 (clone on local machine) developer2 (clone on local machine) My main line of development which is always in a release ready state is 'default'. So the 'default' branch in the 'development' clone is always release-ready. Now suppose I'm developer1 working on feature2. And let's say also that feature2 takes several months. It's pretty obvious that I'm going to want to keep my 'feature2' branch up to date with the 'default' branch. Does this make sense? How would I go about doing this with Mercurial?

  If you create a simple button and then choose Edit Template - Edit a Copy, Blend will automatically generate a style area, along with all the button states (MouseEnter, MouseLeave, Pressed, etc). No where in the generated code does it say that on a "MouseOver" event, change the state to "MouseOver", but it still manages to work! How does a standard button do it? Is there some sort of AutoEventWireUp going on?

  I have been trying to migrate a database from sybase to Mysql. This is my approach: Generate pojo classes from my sybase database using hibernate in eclipse Use these pojo classes to generate the schema in mysql database Then somehow migrate the data from sybase to mysql I guess this approach should work??? Please let me know if there is any better or easier approach. The thing is I am not even able to get the first step done. I added hibernate plugin in eclipse from this link: [http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/stable/][1] I added sybase jar file to my project classpath Then I added hibernate console configuration file Then I added hibernate configuration file Then I added hibernate code generation configuration When I try to run the code generation configuration file, I am getting java.lang.NullPointerException and I have no idea how to fix it. I searched a lot of forums, tried to google it, but I not able to find any solution. Can anybody tell me what mistake I am making here or point to some hibernate tutorial for eclipse??

Specifically, it first chains absolute value and subtraction together, then tacks on a sort, all the while not having to mention parameters and arguments at all, because of the presense of "adverbs" that can join these functions "verbs" What (non-APL-type) languages support this kind of no-arguments function composition (I have the vague idea it ties in strongly to the concepts of monad/dyad and rank, but its hard to get a particularly easy-to-understand picture just from reading Wikipedia) and what do I call this concept?

• Running Ruby app on Apache

  I have been learning Ruby lately, and I want to upload a test web application to my server. But I can't figure out how to get it to run on my shared hosting. My Hosting Details Shared Hosting with JustHost (see here for list of features) OS: Linux Apache: 2.2.11 cPanel: 11.25.0-STABLE No SSH access. Can install Ruby Gems. Can't install Apache modules. Can "Manage Ruby on Rails Applications" through cPanel. Mongrel gem is installed. I built the following simple HelloWorld Ruby Rack app using Sinatra: #!/usr/bin/ruby ruby require 'rubygems' require 'sinatra' get '/hi' do "Hello World!" end I just can can't figure out how to "start" the application. Do I need to tell Mongrel (or maybe Apache) that the application exists somehow? How do I start this app running? I am happy to provide more info if needed.

  OK, i have been doing some work modding a pre-compiled ASP.NET application (VB codebehind) but i have come across something i have never seen before. When ever theres an error on the loading of a page, the page outputs nothing (no error message, no error message, nothing at all) firefox displays this error: XML Parsing Error: no element found Location: http://site.local/Checkout.aspx Line Number 1, Column 1: Because there is no html output. Is there some sort of setting that im missing that makes IIS/ASP.NET function like this?

How do I get the id of the latest snapshot using boto?
