  • get Phone numbers from android phone

    - by Luca
    Hi! First of all i'm sorry for my english... I've a problem getting phone numbers from contacts. That's my code import android.app.ListActivity; import android.database.Cursor; import android.os.Bundle; import android.provider.ContactsContract; import android.widget.SimpleAdapter; import android.widget.Toast; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.HashMap; public class TestContacts extends ListActivity { private ArrayList<HashMap<String,String>> list = new ArrayList<HashMap<String,String>>(); private SimpleAdapter numbers; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.contacts); numbers = new SimpleAdapter( this, list, R.layout.main_item_two_line_row, new String[] { "line1","line2" }, new int[] { R.id.text1, R.id.text2 } ); setListAdapter( numbers ); Cursor cursor = getContentResolver().query(ContactsContract.Contacts.CONTENT_URI, null, null, null, null); while (cursor.moveToNext()) { String contactId = cursor.getString(cursor.getColumnIndex( ContactsContract.Contacts._ID)); String hasPhone = cursor.getString(cursor.getColumnIndex( ContactsContract.Contacts.HAS_PHONE_NUMBER)); //check if the contact has a phone number if (Boolean.parseBoolean(hasPhone)) { Cursor phones = getContentResolver().query( ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.CONTENT_URI, null, ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.CONTACT_ID +" = "+ contactId, null, null); while (phones.moveToNext()) { // Get the phone number!? String contactName = phones.getString( phones.getColumnIndex( ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.DISPLAY_NAME)); String phoneNumber = phones.getString( phones.getColumnIndex( ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.NUMBER)); Toast.makeText(this, phoneNumber, Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); drawContact(contactName, phoneNumber); } phones.close(); } }cursor.close(); } private void drawContact(String name, String number){ HashMap<String,String> item = new HashMap<String,String>(); item.put( "line1",name); item.put( "line2",number); list.add( item ); numbers.notifyDataSetChanged(); } } It'seems that no contact have a phone number (i've added 2 contacts on the emulator and i've tried also on my HTC Desire). The problem is that if (Boolean.parseBoolean(hasPhone)) returns always false.. How can i get correctly phone numbers? I've tried to call drawContact(String name, String number) before the if statement without querying for the phone number, and it worked (it draws two times the name). but on the LinearLayout they are not ordered alphabetically... how can i order alphabetically (similar to the original contacts app)? thank you in advice, Luca

  • How to decide on what hardware to deploy web application

    - by Yuval A
    Suppose you have a web application, no specific stack (Java/.NET/LAMP/Django/Rails, all good). How would you decide on which hardware to deploy it? What rules of thumb exist when determining how many machines you need? How would you formulate parameters such as concurrent users, simultaneous connections and DB read/write ratio to a decision on how much, and which, hardware you need? Any resources on this issue would be very helpful...

  • How to shift pixels of a pixmap efficient in Qt4

    - by stanleyxu2005
    Hello, I have implemented a marquee text widget using Qt4. I painted the text content onto a pixmap first. And then paint a portion of this pixmap onto a paint device by calling painter.drawTiledPixmap(offsetX, offsetY, myPixmap) My Imagination is that, Qt will fill the whole marquee text rectangle with the content from myPixmap. Is there a ever faster way, to shift all existing content to left by 1px and than fill the newly exposed 1px wide and N-px high area with the content from myPixmap?

So I want to make it behave like iPhone, which is, move additional tabs to a "More..." tab. I would like to know if this feature is supported by TabHost, or if there is any existing open source widget which can do the favor for me. Thanks.

  • How to decode "application/x-qabstractitemmodeldatalist" in Qt for drag and drop?

    - by gct
    I've created a child class of QTreeWidget that I want to be able to drag items from another tree widget too (I want to handle the insertion myself though), as well as from a QListWidget. I've overridden the dropEvent method in my class, and it looks like the mimetype of the data I'm getting from my QTreeWidget is application/x-qabstractitemmodeldatalist, how can I decode this to get the items from the tree back out?

  • Returning different images through PHP.

    There's a status indicator code for AIM which returns two different images depending on your status (on/offline) which was done in PHP and with the AIM API. <img src="http://big.oscar.aol.com/USERNAME?on_url=ON_IMAGE&off_url=OFF_IMAGE"> I was looking for a Last.fm widget that shows JUST the album cover I'm listening to or the last album I listened to, but couldn't find it. How do I go along making it using PHP and the Last.fm API.

  • Can I rename Main.mxml?

    - by Randyaa
    We have several Flash objects included in our project. We call each one a specific type of widget... For readability/debugging purposes I'd like to rename Main.mxml to something else. At first this seemed easy, as it would be just a setting in our maven configuration (we're using flex mojos to build our swf). However; changing the sourceFile from Main.mxml to MyWidget.mxml doesn't seem to do it. Any thoughts?

  • Is there a way to keep a selenium session persistent accross multiple tests?

    - by Nick
    I am testing a django application's frontend with selenium and that's first time I use it. I have multiple tests that test things after user logged in. I want them to be separate tests, but I want to have only log in once, is that possible? (As oppose to what I do right now: I log in first, then execute my testing actions of test1, then log in again and execute my testing actions for test2, etc.)

  • Change size of ImageIcon in a JRadioButton

    - by Frederik Wordenskjold
    I simply want to change the size (diameter) of the actual (default) ImageIcon of my JRadioButton. I've changed the size of the font displayed in the widget, so it really looks silly with such a large radiobutton. JRadioButton button = new JRadioButton("Button"); button.setFont(new Font("Lucida Grande",Font.PLAIN, 11)); gives me this giant button: Do I really have to create my own ImageIcon? Or can I somehow scale the default one, without too much of a hassle?

  • GtkLabel reset and GtkTextView max length

    - by stdio
    I've a NULL gtklabel. Upon the occurrence of an event, I set a text in this label (with gtk_label_set_text). How can I reset the gtklabel after the event (reset to NULL)? How can I set the max length (characters) of a GtkTextView? What's the easiest way to set the distance from the margin of a widget in a GtkTable?

  • how to update an Android ListActivity on changing data of the connected SimpleCursorAdapter

    - by 4485670
    I have the following code. What I want to achieve is to update the shown list when I click an entry so I can traverse through the list. I found the two uncommented ways to do it here on stackoverflow, but neither works. I also got the advice to create a new ListActivity on the data update, but that sounds like wasting resources? EDIT: I found the solution myself. All you need to do is call "SimpleCursorAdapter.changeCursor(new Cursor);". No notifying, no things in UI-Thread or whatever. import android.app.ListActivity; import android.database.Cursor; import android.os.Bundle; import android.util.Log; import android.view.View; import android.widget.ListView; import android.widget.SimpleCursorAdapter; public class MyActivity extends ListActivity { private DepartmentDbAdapter mDbHelper; private Cursor cursor; private String[] from = new String[] { DepartmentDbAdapter.KEY_NAME }; private int[] to = new int[] { R.id.text1 }; private SimpleCursorAdapter notes; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.departments_list); mDbHelper = new DepartmentDbAdapter(this); mDbHelper.open(); // Get all of the departments from the database and create the item list cursor = mDbHelper.fetchSubItemByParentId(1); this.startManagingCursor(cursor); // Now create an array adapter and set it to display using our row notes = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.department_row, cursor, from, to); this.setListAdapter(notes); } @Override protected void onListItemClick(ListView l, View v, int position, long id) { super.onListItemClick(l, v, position, id); // get new data and update the list this.updateData(safeLongToInt(id)); } /** * update data for the list * * @param int departmentId id of the parent department */ private void updateData(int departmentId) { // close the old one, get a new one cursor.close(); cursor = mDbHelper.fetchSubItemByParentId(departmentId); // change the cursor of the adapter to the new one notes.changeCursor(cursor); } /** * safely convert long to in to save memory * * @param long l the long variable * * @return integer */ public static int safeLongToInt(long l) { if (l < Integer.MIN_VALUE || l > Integer.MAX_VALUE) { throw new IllegalArgumentException (l + " cannot be cast to int without changing its value."); } return (int) l; } }

  • QWebFrame::evaluateJavaScript vs. script-tag in HTML

    - by jwg
    Hi, I want to develop an application that uses QtWebKit and JQuery. What I need to know is, is there any difference between reading JQuery from a file and evaluateJavaScript it, or embedding it as a script tag within the "page" that is displayed within the widget? If there is a difference, I am curious if anyone could explain why it would be. As far as I understood it, evaluateJavaScript() would feed the script parameter to the JavaScript interpreter, which interprets it in the current page's context. Thanks.

  • Android Add Icon to homescreen to set member variable in broadcast receiver

    - by JonF
    I would like to add some sort of icon that a user can press in order to flip a variable in a broadcast receiver my app uses. Basically I just can a icon that they can press which will flip the value of a boolean in the broadcast receiver, and change the icon to indicate something happened. I think I need to do something with a widget? Could anyone point me in the direction of some tutorial I could check out?

  • Resize AIR app window while dragging

    - by matt lohkamp
    So I've noticed Windows 7 has a disturbing tendency to prevent you from dragging the title bar of windows off the top of the screen. If you try - in this case, using an air app with a draggable area at the bottom of the window, allowing you to push the top of the window up past the screen - it just kicks the window back down far enough that the title bar is at the top of what it considers the 'visible area.' One solution would be to resize the app window as it moves, so that the title bar is always where windows wants it. How would you resize the window while you're dragging it, though? Would you do it like this? dragHitArea.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, function(e:MouseEvent):void{ stage.nativeWindow.height += 50; stage.nativeWindow.startMove(); stage.nativeWindow.height -= 50; }); see what's going on there? When I click, I'm doing startMove(), which is hooking into the OS' function for dragging a window around. I'm also increasing and decreasing the height of the window by 50 pixels - which should give me no net increase, right? Wrong - the first '.height +=' gets executed, but the '.height -=' after the .startMove() never runs. Why? update - If you're curious, I'm programming an air widget with fly-out menus which expand rightwards and upwards - and since those element can only be displayed within the boundaries of the application window itself (even though the window is set to be chromeless and transparent) I have to expand the application's borders to include the area that the menu 'pops up' into. In the extreme case, with the widget positioned bottom left, and the menus expanded completely across to the right side and top edge of the screen, the application area could very well cover the entire desktop. The problem is, when it's expanded like this, if the user drags it up and to the right, it causes the 'title bar' area of the application window to move above the top edge of the desktop area, where it would normally be unreachable; and Windows automatically re-positions the window back below that edge once the .startMove() operation is completed. So what I want to do is continually resize the height of the application so that the visual effect will be the same for the user, but for the benefit of the operating system the window's title bar will never be above that top boundary of the desktop area.
