I just installed QT 4.6 on snow leopard 10.6.3. I wrote a really simple program. I can generate a xcode project using qmake, but I can't step into QT function. How can I set it up?
I'm searching for compelling git and Mercurial clients on Mac OS X. The most clients I've found so far were less compelling as I expected. Some of the clients are programmed even in ruby or tcl/tk, which IMO aren't good OSX citizens in regard of integration in the OS.
I've clients in mind similar to Versions.app or Cornetstone which are subversion-only clients. Perhaps somebody got an insider tip for me.
I am looking for a solution to create a "virtual" webcam device under OS X (that acts just as a normal hardware webcam, but the application has full control over what to output). I'm fairly experienced with C++, but not so much with Objective-C and OSX/Cocoa programming.
Anyone that can point me in the right direction, where to look and what I should be looking for? I've searched, but most of the results seems to focus on Windows and DirectX.
Thanks!
Can anyone tell me why this command doesn't work from the MongoDB shell client:
db.coll.update({'live':true},{$set:{'mask':"\D\D\D\D\D\D\D\D"}},false,true)
but
db.coll.findOne({'id':'someId'})
returns the mask field as:
"mask" : "DDDDDDDD",
Where are the slashes going?
I've tried "double escaping" with \\D and that inserts both slashes:
"mask" : "\\D\\D\\D\\D\\D\\D\\D\\D",
MongoDB shell version: 2.0.6, MongoDB version: 2.0.5, OSX Lion
Thanks
I'm looking for an ASCII diagram tool for producing diagrams from text. I only really need sequence and state type diagrams for now, but I'm curious as to what people would recommend? I need something which is standalone, not a web based tool that works on Linux, OSX and Windows.
I've finally installed all the requirements (so i think!) of a Django project, and I'm trying to get a local install running on my Mac (OSX 10.4).
I'm getting the following error:

Hello,
I have just finished my application for iPhone. I would like to know if it is possible to use the word iPhone in the name of the application. For example, can I name my application iPhonesque ?
And for the icon, can I use graphics related to Apple like a Mac Windows (with the three buttons, red, yellow and green) on snow leopard background ?
Thank you very much for your answers.
I've got an app that I'm trying to get working again after wiping my system and installing Snow Leopard. I installed Ruby 1.9 from Macports (now a later version) and the dev server starts up just fine, but then dies on the first request, only telling me "Illegal instruction". I have no idea what's causing this or even how to go about debugging it. Does anyone have any ideas?
I want to use the mac in single user mode. I want to use ctags and cscope in that mode. Could anyone help me with the setups required for this. Thank you. All i know is how to go to the single user mode so please tell me in a simple and easy to understand method. My mac is version 10.6(snow leopard)
Hello,
I am using the Xcode 3.1.4 that means SDK 3.1.2
The problem is that I cannot open .xcdatamodel (Core Data) file and I don't even get the Data Model option in Design Menu bar.
When ever I double click and try to open the file,
XCode gives me an error saying that it cannot find the file at (my project's path).Perhaps it was moved or deleted? , but the file exists at the same path.
Please help me out as I haven't upgraded my system to Snow Leopard so cant use SDK 3.2
Regards
jAmi
I'm running OS X Leopard. I followed this site to install it. Trying to run any demo script, I now get "No module named opencv.cv", which is obviously stopping me from doing any programming. I am running python 2.5.1 (yes, I know it's kind of old).
Why would this be, and how can I solve it?
Thanks
I'm still pretty new to Android and programming in general, and I can't seem to get the command line tools packaged with the Android SDK to work. I'm running Mac OSX and each time I try to run layoutopt, for example, the terminal returns, *-bash: cmd: command not found
*
Also, is it okay to have my SDK located in the Developer directory and my android project in some unrelated directory when using these tools?
I'm trying to get the mount point(linux/osx) or disk drive (windows) of a specific USB mass storage device.
I can use libusb to determine if the correct device is inserted but how do I determine where it is mounted?
I'm using C++ but I assume C code would work just as well. Cross-platform code would be preferable.
In SublimeText(2), when you press [ctrl + shift + p] (mac osx) you are shown a scope of where your caret/cursor is in the source code at the given moment e.g.: entity.name.tag.inline.any.html meta.tag.inline.any.html text.html.basic
I am curious about what library or script is used to parse the document/file and create that scope string.
A sidenote: Typing view.syntax_name(view.sel()[0].b) into Sublime's console will output the scope as well.
I'm using Mac OS X Snow Leopard and i can not install PIL 1.1.6.
I have faced with:
error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1
Should I change the version of gcc?
Thanks.
Hi,
I use terminal from Mac OS X Leopard to connect to remote Linux machines and edit C++ code there using VI.
What determines that in some machines, using the same MACOSX terminal settings, the source code gets colorized and in other not?
Thanks
Hi there,
is there a way to rebuild Mac OSX Snow Leopard's Dashboard Widget 'Web Clip' on a PHP website?
Something like a crawler or scraper.
I thought about using file_get_contents to getting the page content into the page, but how do I select a section on the external page? And does this work with session/login content as well?
I'm happy for any kind of suggestions!
Cheers
I'm using Gnu Emacs on OSX, Windows, and Linux. Is there some command which can download and install packages (or .el files) automatically? I've seen there are some work-in-progress projects on the internet (after googling) but I was wondering if I was missing some awesome package manager out there that just works.
I currently have NetBeans 6.5 installed on my mac running leopard.
I searched Google on how to uninstall it and the NetBeans website says to right click on it, select "Show Package Contents" and the uninstaller should be there, but it isn't.
How can I completely uninstall NetBeans in this situation?
Thanks!
Is there any way to simulate the absence of a gem for certain unit tests, short of actually uninstalling and then reinstalling the gem during testing?
I am writing a command line utility, and want to make sure that my tests cover cases where a user may not have all of the gems that I support. For instance, I am using fsevents — a Leopard-specific package for monitoring filesystem events — that will never be present on other systems, as well as a growl gem that's purely optional.
One of the things that block objects, introduced in Snow Leopard, are good for is situations that would previously have been handled with callbacks. The syntax is much cleaner for passing context around. However, I haven't seen any information on the performance implications of using blocks in this manner. What, if any, performance pitfalls should I look out for when using blocks, particularly as a replacement for a C-style callback?
This might sound stupid but whenever I run my app in Eclipse I get this annoying pop up asking me how to run it: Android app, JUnit, Eclipse app, etc'
I'm always running this project as an Android app, is there any way to tell Eclipse to stop asking me this.
I'm using Eclipse 3.5 on Snow Leopard.
Thanks
** EDIT
Screen shot of the pop up I'm getting
I'm using Eclipse + the Android SDK on a Mac running Snow Leopard to develop Android apps.
Thing is, Eclipse is really slow - like, it "beach balls" for a few seconds when changing tabs.
Is there anything I can do to improve it's performance?
Hi
Using RubyMine 2.0.2 for the first time today, on Mac OSXLeopard. If I create files in the filesystem (with, say, script/generate) those new files do not appear in rubymine. I have had limited success with restarting the program, in that the files in the db/ folder are added and removed, but unfortunately new folders in the views directory are not shown.
Pardon my french, but wtf?
Thanks
