• NGINX : Proxy pass intercepting 5xx errors - Possible to differentiate between ones fired by backed vs ones fired by nginx itself?

  We use proxy_intercept_errors ( http://wiki.nginx.org/HttpProxyModule#proxy_intercept_errors ) with our backends. We intercept a number of status codes, including a few 5xx ones. Our 5xx (each 500 has its own) handler has an access_log so we can see all the 5xx errors returned to the user in a nice clean logged format. The issue with this is that as it stands now, we cannot tell weather a 5xx was returned to the user by nginx or intercepted from our backend. Is there any way to differentiate between the two?   I have seen some Backup Questions around. But they are not quite what I am looking for. I would like to have a back up of my entire hard drive (to an external drive). I would like it to be the kind that has a base backup then just backs up the changes since the last backup. I would like it to be able to have a fully restorable image of my hard drive (not just key files). Lastly I would like it to be free (or super cheap). (The above requirements are important, but I will have to drop them if they up the price as my boss will not pay for them.) I have a Solid State Hard Drive 250 GB backing up to a 1TB external hard drive using Windows XP.

• auto copy newest folders and images in MyPictures folder to USB drive

  I drop lots of photos in a day into the My Documents/My Pictures folder. I archive at the end of each day to USB drives, to be stored offsite. What I would like is someway to automate the process. By example, a small app or script I can simply double-click and it will scan the My Pictures folder for the newest folders and images and copy them to the USB drive until the drive is full. It doesn't matter if I get redundancy from the previous days saved images, so long as the newest images and folders are always the first to get copied. Well, that's my request. Thanks for reading.

• Possible to create a shortcut in Windows 7 to a mounted network drive in XP Mode?

  I'm using an application that mounts a remotely hosted directory as a drive in Windows. Unfortunately, it doesn't run under 64-bit Windows 7. Using Windows 7's "XP Mode," though, the app works just fine in this virtualized 32-bit environment. The mounted drive displays and is accessible in XP Mode's virtualized XP environment. However, what I would really like is to open the mounted network drive in XP Mode directly from Windows 7 (even if I can't drag and drop). XP Mode allows you to launch applications installed in the virtualized XP environment from shortcuts in Windows 7. However, I can't find a way to launch Windows Explorer or specific mapped drives on the virtualized XP environment from shortcuts in Windows 7. Can anyone provide instructions to create a shortcut in Windows 7 to a network drive mapped in the virtualized XP environment of XP Mode?

• Install php-fpm + php-mysql + MariaDB on Centos from repos

  I try to take CentOS 6.4 x64 and install nginx w/ php-fpm on it (and that's easy part, no problem at all), then add php-mysql package and MariaDB as a mysql drop-in replacement. And here I face the hang... I've added epel, nginx and remi repos, add priority=10 line to its .repo files, and now as I install MariaDB-server the dependency also brings me MariaDB's "common" package. Then, as I try to install php-mysql, I see file /usr/share/mysql/french/errmsg.sys from install of MariaDB-server-5.5.27-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package mysql-libs-5.5.28-1.el6.remi.x86_64 warnings. If I deinstall MariaDB server, I'm able to install mysql-libs and php-mysql, but it won't allow me to install MariaDB later. Is there any way to escape that (infinite) loop? I believe the solution is simple but still can't see it. Please help to install php-fpm + php-mysql and MariaDB as DB server!

• Problem with socket communication between C# and Flex

  Hi all, I am implementing a simulated b/s stock data system. I am using flex and c# for client and server sides. I found flash has a security policy and I handled the policy-file-request in my server code. But seems it doesn't work, because the code jumped out at "socket.Receive(b)" after connection. I've tried sending message on client in the connection handler, in that case the server can receive correct message. But the auto-generated "policy-file-request" can never be received, and the client can get no data sending from server. • Setting page parent to a private page in Wordpress 2.8

  I have a site developed in Wordpress 2.7 that makes extensive use of private pages as the parents of public pages. The private pages are never meant to be seen, they are just there to act as containers for the other pages. Since upgrading to Wordpress 2.8, it seems this isn't possible any more. Private pages no long show up in the drop box of pages I can use as a parent, and if I edit a page with a private parent, it loses the parenting information. Is there anything I can do about this?

  Possible Duplicate: Remove auto-complete field entries in Google Chrome Ok... so this is embarrassing. I typed in "boobs" on EncyclopediaDramatica's search because, well, it's a really funny page. But now I've got a problem... EVERY TIME I click a search feild in Chrome now, it shows "boobs" as the first suggestion in the drop down! This is not really socially acceptable as this laptop goes with me everywhere and Chrome is my primary browser. Is there a way I can isolate and remove just that one entry?

• Winxp system context menus blank after last security update

  Because of a CERT advisory of several out-of-band security updates released by MS I did a Critical Updates pass on my WinXP Pro SP3 machine. I now have the situation where it seems that all of my WinXP-generated menus come up with all items black. If I wave the cursor over the menu, the items will update as they become active (go blue) and then update correctly (to black-text-on-white-background) as they go non-active. Separators (which never get a hover event) stay black. App-level context menus seem to work fine (Firefox, OpenOffice, etc.) with the exception of Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer, which both exhibit this behavior on both their context menus and on their menu bar drop down menus. I'm assuming that's true because they are all using the same library code. Thoughts? Fixes? Help!

• Keyboard Navigation of File Open Dialog in Windows 7

  In Windows XP standard File - Open dialog, the top has a "Look In" box. I can press Alt+I to drop down a tree of the disks folders and easily navigate to other folders or network shares. In Windows 7, I can't seem to navigate the File - Open dialog as easily. The best I've been able to muster is to tab 5 times (in Excel 2007, but I assume it's a windows standard), then use arrow keys or use Alt+arrow keys like a browser to get around. It's simply not as good because I can't see the whole tree at once. Is there a way to see the whole folder tree? If not, do you have any other tips for keyboard navigation of the file open dialog in Windows 7?

  I am creating a model-first Entity Framework 4 app that uses SQL CE as its data store. All is well until I call ObjectContext.SaveChanges() to save changes to the entities in the model. • How Can I Point My Local Testing Server at My GitHub Repository?

  Up until a few days ago, I had a particular setup that was as follows. Using SVN, all of the websites that I developed were committed to a source control drop box on a local testing server. Then using IIS, a new website was set up to point at the last revision of each particular website I developed and display it to the outside world using a specific URL. I have just moved over to using git and github, meaning all of my source controlled code is now no longer stored on a local testing server. As a result of this, I am not sure how I can go about doing a similar thing to what I did with the SVN setup, however I need to be able to essentially have that same setup again, just using Git. So basically, how can I go about getting my local testing server to point at the GitHub repository for that site? Help greatly appreciated.

I'm pulling the overlay data from a database using an AsyncTask as created in my activity. The AsyncTask is triggered from a ViewTreeObserver.OnGlobalLayoutListener attached to the MapView. In the onPostExecute method of the AsyncTask, I create a new instance of my CampsOverlay class and pass it a list of the camps returned from the database (which are fetched in doInBackground). I then call: mapView.getOverlays().add(newOverlay); where newOverlay is the CampsOverlay I just created. I get "503 Service Unavailable" http error for all "nginx upstreams" proxy passing calls to haproxy fast_thin and slow_thin ( server 127.0.0.1:3100 and server 127.0.0.1:3200 ), which loadbalance on 6 Thin servers ( 127.0.0.1:3000 .. 3005 ). • Slow git clone and fetch

  I setuped gitosis on a linux server following this tutorial: http://scie.nti.st/2007/11/14/hosting-git-repositories-the-easy-and-secure-way We are using git on our windows machines with TortoiseGit and msysgit. Pushing changes to the server is pretty fast, but when we want to clone or fetch changes from the remote server, it begins really fast (800k/s) and then drop pretty fast to around 3 to 30k/s and it can take forever to update. git-pull for small update is fast, but as soon as we have to download something of more than a few MB, it is slow. We are switching from SVN to git and this is holding us back from using git full time. Thanks!

I have made a script (deploy.sh) to start the difference services: nginx uwsgi --ini inifie.ini python fetcher.py & disown My question is regarding how I start my python daemon. I want it to run in the background. It should not print anything to my current terminal. If I add "print" calls to my fetcher script I currently see them in the terminal window. So my question is: how do I start my fetcher.py script as a daemon?

  Possible Duplicate: How do you find a new software to download? I see that the most time I spend on the computer I lose to just searching for suitable software. How you do it? What is your way to find software? Do you first go to a forum or google? Which torrent site? which P2P program, website or server? For example: "I need a software that have functions as a remote desktop and also lets you copy and paste (drag and drop - file manager). And after few hours searching on Google I downloaded LOGMEIN Pro2, but than I see that is just trial. So if I need to find alternative I will spend another whole day. Where to go? I am not an amateur but I need a better system. I need better introduction on how to find what is the suitable software.

• BroadcastReceiver not reading stored value from SharedPreferences

  In my app I have a broadcast receiver that turns on GPS upon receiving a set string of text. In the onLocationChanged method, I want to pass the GPS data and a value from my shared preferences to a thread in a string. I have the thread writing to log and can see all the GPS values in the string but the last value from my shared preferences is just showing up as 'prefPhoneNum' which I initialised the string to at the beginning of the receiver class. • internet connection drops randomly

  hi all I have 3 PC's at home (with Win XP, Win 7 & Win 7) and a router. I am always connected to the internet through the router (PPoE connection). My problem is that sometimes when I want to search or open a page, my browser tells me that the server cannot be reached, as if I don't have a connection to the internet. Other times it logs me out from messenger, but browsing still works. FTP download/upload also works. If i disable and enable the LAN then all works fine. The connection doesn't always drop on all three PC's at the same time. Anyone got any idea besides re-installing OS? thanks

• iptables to play nice with tor and ntpd

  I'm setting up a server to operate as a tor relay and nothing else. I setup iptables to only allow talk on port 9001 and it worked fine, but there was an issue, the clock needs to be properly set and maintained for the relay to work properly, so I needed ntpd setup and running, but for some reason I can't get iptables to work as I want it. I'm trying to have it allow only tor and ntpd to talk over the network, but when I set it up to allow port 123 using udp, suddenly it ignores my -A OUTPUT ! -s 127.0.0.1 -j DROP and allows everything through. How should I go about this? Please excuse my ignorance, I've brand new to iptables.

If either check box is checked, then the other controls are disabled and the rules for the other do no apply. Per a suggestion I tried adding $('form').valid(); a number of places. When I added it to the end of the UpdateTextBoxes() function, they started out highlighted, not what I want. When I added it after the click() event of either of the radio button, the text would go away, but the actual controls stayed highlighted. It looks like the function on the required property of the rule is not fully working, maybe. What is really interesting is this: When I enter a height, click , then weight and device are highlighted and have the error message under them. When I click on one of the radio buttons, the text goes away, but the highlight does not. But... The height is NOT highlighted, it stays normal.

• Using Exim and Google Apps email as smarthost

  I have a server setup to use exim4 and google apps as my smarthost. But I get errors when the to address is not the one I use to authenticate to google and it seems to drop all return addresses that are not the one it uses to authenitcate. Example: On the contact form of my server a user sets [email protected] as their return address and uses the form to send a message. I get an email sent to the admin's address [email protected] but the return address is also now [email protected] I have no idea of the return address the user set on the form. I get around this by putting a bad email address in the form's default so Exim4 sends an error message to [email protected] with the user's email in the debug info. Clearly I either have it set up wrong or do not understand how smarthosts work (probably both).
