In C# you can easily read all classes from a given assembly.
I'm looking for equivalent feature in Java. I need this to automatically bind EJB beans to my Guice Module.
Hi there,
is it possible to start a new thread in a different process in Java?
I mean, I'm running a specific process and main thread, issuing ProcessBuilder for creating a new process. Before start() method is invoked, one must provide the command to be run in another process. Is it possible to start a new thread in newly created process?
Thank you in advance for the reply.
Best regards.
I have one SDK that is available in Java and another SDK that is available for .Net and would like to write a single application that interfaces with both of them. I imagine I will need to use a cross platform communication framework that can support named pipes (or other in memory communication), what is the best choice?
After some more research I found Hessian -- does anyone know anything about the maturity of this project?
I want to build a web services client that takes wsdl link as the input and generates java classes. I know we can do this directly using Netbeans IDE where we provide the wsdl location during project setup. But I want the wsdl location to be provided when the client starts running. How do I do this?
I'm a .NET developer learning Java EE. These two concepts seem to serve the same exact purposes in either system.
So which framework gets credit for inventing them?
Is there a simple way to have your "Service Layer" deployed separately from your web layer, so that I can reduce the number of times per week that I have to, package, build and deploy the entire WAR file?
I'm using Tomcat mostly, but I'm hoping for something more generic to Java web servers
If i make java core dump with gcore then what is the best tool to analyze it? I need to be able make jmap, jstack, jstat etc and also i need to see values of all variables.

I have seen that there are many books titled:
Build Ecommerce website in php
Build shopping carts in php or asp.net
Is there any book which explains, from scratch, how to start building a website in Java using any framework or with servlets or JSP?
Desired topics:
Basic forms with logins and registration
Building catalogue system
Building shopping cart
Building newsletters system
Dear all,
I want to integrate facebook api in my webapplication ,from where i can login a user ,gets his online friends ,sends notification messages,logout a user.plese suggesting which api to usein java.
Need: Output a Java application's log into a GUI component, such as a JTextArea.
Concern: Need to log things from any class, in a static manner. However, the GUI logger component must not be static (obviously) as it's the member of a parent component.
What should I do?
Does anyone know of a tool (besides Eclipse or any other IDE) that I can use to find unused imports in a Java source file?
I am looking for a command-line type of tool (to integrate in a larger script).
Thank you.
Is there a multipart POST library out there that achieve the same effect of doing a POST from a html form? for example - upload a file programmingly in Java versus upload the file using a html form. And on the server side, it just blindly expect the request from client side to be a multipart POST request and parse out the data as appropriate.
Has anyone tried this?
specifically, I am trying to see if I can simulate the following with Java
The user creates a blob by submitting an HTML form that includes one or more file input fields. Your app sets blobstoreService.createUploadUrl() as the destination (action) of this form, passing the function a URL path of a handler in your app. When the user submits the form, the user's browser uploads the specified files directly to the Blobstore. The Blobstore rewrites the user's request and stores the uploaded file data, replacing the uploaded file data with one or more corresponding blob keys, then passes the rewritten request to the handler at the URL path you provided to blobstoreService.createUploadUrl(). This handler can do additional processing based on the blob key. Finally, the handler must return a headers-only, redirect response (301, 302, or 303), typically a browser redirect to another page indicating the status of the blob upload.
Set blobstoreService.createUploadUrl as the form action, passing the application path to load when the POST of the form is completed.
<body>
<form action="<%= blobstoreService.createUploadUrl("/upload") %>" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data">
<input type="file" name="myFile">
<input type="submit" value="Submit">
</form>
</body>
Note that this is how the upload form would look if it were created as a JSP.
The form must include a file upload field, and the form's enctype must be set to multipart/form-data. When the user submits the form, the POST is handled by the Blobstore API, which creates the blob. The API also creates an info record for the blob and stores the record in the datastore, and passes the rewritten request to your app on the given path as a blob key.
Is there a way in Java to find the "Last Fired Time" from a Cron Expression.
E.g. If now = 25-Apr-2010 10pm, cron expression "0 15 10 ? * *" (quartz) should return me 25-Apr-2010 10:15am
I do not care if we use standard cron expressions (like Unix and Quartz) or less popular ones if they can fetch me the correct "Last Fired Time"
Learning just another language is not much work. However, getting familiar with all the supporting libraries is veeeery expensive and actually you cannot go too far without that.
Would you consider a worthy career investment to learn java once you already are an accepted professional of .NET or you would rather invest the same amount of energy to get deeper in the things you already know?
Hi crew,
I'm searching for a tool, which converts a jsp file into a java file without using a server like tomcat or something else.
Can anyone help me out?
I am facing a problem with my singleton when used across multiple class loaders. E.g Singleton accessed by multiple EJBs. Is there any way to create a singleton which has only one instance across all class loader?
I am looking for pure java solution either using custom class loader or some other way.
Why is it that in Java, a superclass' protected members are inaccessible by an indirect subclass in a different package? I know that a direct subclass in a different package can access the superclass' protected members. I thought any subclass can access its inherited protected members.
