  • Equivalent of libwww-perl in .NET or Java

    I have written a crawler in Perl awhile back and it was super simple giving the high-level capability of libwww-perl. It is so straight forward in fact, it can take the raw HTML response of one request, and create the next HTTP request for you from the FORMs on that page (as in it will parse the HTML for you). Does anyone know any library like this on .NET or Java? Selenium is out of question because it requires the browser to be open, which we cannot accommodate in our implementation)

    Hey I'm making a simple caesar cipher in Java using the formula [x- (x+shift-1) mod 127 + 1] I want to have my encrypted text to have the ASCII characters except the control characters(i.e from 32-127). How can I avoid the control characters from 0-31 applying in the encrypted text. Thank you.

  • Java Encryption issue

    I am using PBE encryption to encrypt and decrypt some text on an Android application but I get the BadPaddingException: with the "pad block corrupted" message when I use the wrong private key to decrypt the text. My question, since I am not well versed with encryption in Java, is if this is the normal behavior of the encryption API, because I need to do some logic in the case when the wrong key is entered, but I do not know the private key, nor do I store it anywhere (storing just the encrypted and decrypted check text).     Hi, When I try to call a method from a local ejb I have this error : java.lang.VerifyError: com/pwc/lu/ejb/hcfollowup/staff/HCFStaffManagerLocal.getPersonById(Ljava/lang/Integer;)Lcom/pwc/lu/mapping/hcfollowup/hibernate/global/Person; HCFStaffManagerLocal is my local interface and getPersonById an ejb method. Person, the result type. I can get my ejb but error occurs when trying to call getPersonById method. I don't understand why it get an exception for Person class... Any ideas ?

We are using custom GUI text i/o components inherited from Component class using e.g. Drawstring, how well is arabic supported within Component class ? The keyboard input is done with KeyListener getKeyChar, getKeyCode etc.

    I'm trying to adopt my development from Spring/Maven2/Tomcat -> Grails, and I'm wondering if there's an easy way to manage dependencies in grails separate from maven. Maven does a lot of the magic that grails is doing automatically (unit testing/building/etc.), so I wonder if there's a need for maven at all in grails projects. So, then, how do Grails users generally manage java dependencies? I've become accustomed to central repository dependency management, and I can't turn back at this point.

    In Asp.Net MVC 2.0, at least in the beta, you could decoration your model classes with data annotation attributes and enable client side validation that leverages that criteria defined in your model data annotation attibutes. Is there anything similar for Java Spring MVC 3.0? Is it possible to inject a component into the response pipeline that can inspect the model's annotated properties and render client side validation logic to complement the server side validation logic that is invoked prior to the controller handling the request?
