• DOM: element created with cloneNode(true) missing element when added to DOM

- by user149327
I'm creating a tree control and I'm attempting to use a parent element as a template for its children. To this end I'm using the element.cloneNode(true) method to deep clone the parent element. However when I insert the cloned element into the DOM it is missing certain inner elements despite having an outerHTML value identical to its parent. Surprisingly I observe the same behavior is in IE, Firefox, and Chrome leading me to believe that it is by design. This is the HTML for the node I'm attempting to clone. Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift is a swell gall who is realy great. Once I've cloned the node using cloneNode(true) I examine the outerHTML property and find that it is indeed identical to the original. Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift is a swell gall who is realy great. However when I insert it into the DOM and inspect the result using FireBug I find that the element has been transformed: <span class="node" style="top: 0px; left: 0px;"Taylor SwiftIt's great Notice that the grandchildren of the node (the image tag and the span tag surrounding "Taylor Swift") are missing, although strangely the great grandchild "Taylor Swift" text node has made it into the tree. Can anyone shed some light on this behavior? Why would nodes disappear after insertion into the DOM, and why am I seeing the same result in all three major browser engines?

• class weblogic.management.WeblogicMBean not found

Hi all I meet this problem when I try to run Junit test case in fork mode (starting each test in a separate JVM) using Build ant file. I have the library weblogic.jar in my build library folders, which is set as classpath for the junit task. I look at this file and can't find the WeblogicMBean.class inside. However, in Jdev, I can import weblogic.management.WeblogicMBean into my class if I set library reference to this weblogic.jar file and compile my class without problem. Any suggestion of what really goes wrong? Thanks a lot.

• Ivy failed to resolve dependency : What to check, what to do ?

- by fardon57
Hi everyone, I'm using Ivy to resolve dependency in my very small project. It's the first time I'm doing that and it's more to learn as my project is very small. I had a problem 5 minutes ago, when trying to download log4j. My configuration is very basic, I have an ant task : <target name="resolve" description="--> retrieve dependencies with ivy"> <ivy:retrieve/> </target> and my Ivy.xml file is like this : <dependency org="javax.servlet" name="servlet-api" rev="2.5" /> <dependency org="log4j" name="log4j" rev="1.2.15" /> </dependencies> The problem is seems to happen when ivy tries to download jms 1.1 (I suppose it's needed for log4j) as I can see in the console : : ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: [ivy:retrieve] :: FAILED DOWNLOADS :: [ivy:retrieve] :: ^ see resolution messages for details ^ :: [ivy:retrieve] :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: [ivy:retrieve] :: javax.jms#jms;1.1!jms.jar [ivy:retrieve] :: com.sun.jdmk#jmxtools;1.2.1!jmxtools.jar [ivy:retrieve] :: com.sun.jmx#jmxri;1.2.1!jmxri.jar [ivy:retrieve] :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Is there anything I can do ? Thanks a lot guys. F

• How to do parrallel processing in Unix Shell script?

- by Bikram Agarwal
I have a shell script that transfers a build.xml file to a remote unix machine (devrsp02) and executes the ANT task wldeploy on that machine (devrsp02). Now, this wldeploy task takes around 15 minutes to complete and while this is running, the last line at the unix console is - "task {some digit} initialized". Once this task is complete, we get a "task Completed" msg and the next task in the script is executed only after that. But sometimes, there might be a problem with the weblogic domain and the deployment might be failing internally, with no effect on the status of the wldeploy task. The unix console will still be stuck at "task {some digit} initialized". The error of the deployment will be getting logged in a file called output.a So, what I want now is - Start a time counter before running wldeploy. If the wldeploy runs for more than 15 minutes, the following command should be run - tail -f output.a ## without terminating the wldeploy or cat output.a ## after terminating the wldeploy forcefully Point to be noted here is - I can't run the wldeploy task in background, as in that case the user won't get to know when the task is complete, which is crucial for this script. Could you please suggest anything to achieve this?

• How to increase PermGen memory for eclipselink StaticWeaveAntTask

- by rayd09
We are using Eclipselink and need to weave the code in order for lazy fetching to work property. During the weave process I'm getting the following error: weave: BUILD FAILED java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space I have the following tasks within my ant build file: <target name="define_weave_task" description="task definition for EclipseLink static weaving"> <taskdef name="eclipse_weave" classname="org.eclipse.persistence.tools.weaving.jpa.StaticWeaveAntTask"/> </target> <target name="weave" depends="compile,define_weave_task" description="weave eclipselink code into compiled classes"> <eclipse_weave source="${path.classes}" target="${path.classes}"> <classpath refid="compile.classpath"/> </eclipse_weave> </target> It has been working great for a long time. Now that the amount of code to be woven has increased I'm getting the PermGen error. I would like to be able to up the amount of perm space. If I was doing a compile I would be able to up the perm space via a compiler argument such as <compilerarg value="-XX:MaxPermSize=256M"/> but this does not appear to be a valid argument for eclipselink weaving. How can I up the perm space for the weave?

• Tomcat deploy: make included scripts executable

- by AlexS
I'm devellopping a WebApplication (for Tomcat) using netbeans on Windows 7. For the Webapplication to run I need to run a insall-script once. This script (*.bat for windows and *.sh for linux is included in my war-file (WEB_INF). Now everytime I deploy the WAR-file and want to run the script on linux I have to call chmod +x install.sh first. Is there a way that this script can be made executable by default? I don't want to have to execute some extra commands after the deploy to make the script executable. For clarification: I'm not new to Linux and I know how to set executable-rights on files. That's not the problem. My problem is: What do I have to do, so that this script is executable right after tomcat deployed my *.war-file (unpacked it). If I would be using Linux for development as well, I would try to set the rights according in my sources (maybe I'll try it when I have a little more spare time). But I am using Windows and netbeans. Are there any attributes I can set to achive my goal, or is it possible to achive this using ant? By the way: Are there security related issues with this approach? The script looks for java executable and calls a javabased GUI-installer...

• Compiling GWT 2.6.1 at Java 7 source level

- by Neeko
I've recently updated my GWT project to 2.6.1, and started to make use of Java 7 syntax since 2.6 now supports Java 7. However, when I attempt to compile, I'm receiving compiler errors such as [ERROR] Line 42: '<>' operator is not allowed for source level below 1.7 How do I specify the GWT compiler to target 1.7? I was under the impression that it would do that by default, but I guess not. I've attempted cleaning the project, including deleting the gwt-unitCache directory but to no avail. Here is my Ant compile target. <target name="compile" depends="prepare"> <javac includeantruntime="false" debug="on" debuglevel="lines,vars,source" srcdir="${src.dir}" destdir="${build.dir}"> <classpath refid="project.classpath"/> </javac> </target> <target name="gwt-compile" depends="compile"> <java failonerror="true" fork="true" classname="com.google.gwt.dev.Compiler"> <classpath> <pathelement location="${src.dir}"/> <pathelement location="${build.dir}"/> </classpath> <jvmarg value="-Xmx256M"/> <arg value="${gwt.module.name}"/> </java> </target>

• Proxy settings with ivy...

- by user315228
Hi, I have an issue where in I have defined dependancies in ivy.xml on our internal corporate svn. I am able to access this svn site without any proxy task in ant. While my dependencies resides on ibiblio, that’s something outside our corporate, and needs proxy inorder to download something. I am facing problem using ivy here: I have following in build.xml <target name="proxy"> <property name="proxy.host" value="xyz.proxy.net"/> <property name="proxy.port" value="8443"/> <setproxy proxyhost="${proxy.host}" proxyport="${proxy.port}"/> </target> <!-- resolve the dependencies of stratus --> <target name="resolveTestDependency" depends="testResolve, proxy" description="retrieve test dependencies with ivy"> <ivy:settings file="stratus-ivysettings.xml" /> <ivy:retrieve conf="test" pattern="${jars}/[artifact]-[revision].[ext]"/> </target> <target name=" testResolve "> <ivy:settings file="stratus-ivysettings.xml" /> <ivy:resolve conf="test" file="stratus-ivy.xml"/> </target> Following is the excerpt from stratus-ivysettings.xml <resolvers <zipfileset refid="@{artifact}-etc-2" erroronmissingdir="false" /> <zipfileset refid="@{artifact}-etc-3" erroronmissingdir="false" /> <zipfileset refid="@{artifact}-etc-4" erroronmissingdir="false" /> <zipfileset refid="@{artifact}-etc-5" erroronmissingdir="false" /> <zipfileset refid="@{artifact}-etc-6" erroronmissingdir="false" /> <zipfileset refid="@{artifact}-etc-7" erroronmissingdir="false" /> <zipfileset refid="@{artifact}-etc-8" erroronmissingdir="false" /> <zipfileset refid="@{artifact}-etc-9" erroronmissingdir="false" /> <zipfileset refid="@{artifact}-etc-10" erroronmissingdir="false" /> </war> </then> <else> <jar destfile="${jar.dir}/@{artifact}.jar" compress="true"> <resources refid="@{artifact}.packaging" /> <zipfileset refid="@{artifact}-meta-inf" erroronmissingdir="false" /> </jar> </else> </if> </sequential> </for> </target>

• Does Ivy's url resolver support transitive retrieval?

- by Sean
For some reason I can't seem to resolve the dependencies of my dependencies when using a url resolver to specify a repository's location. However, when using the ibiblio resolver, I am able to retrieve them. For example: <ivy-module version="1.0"> <info organisation="org.apache" module="chained-resolvers"/> <dependencies> <dependency org="commons-lang" name="commons-lang" rev="2.0" conf="default"/> <dependency org="checkstyle" name="checkstyle" rev="5.0"/> </dependencies> </ivy-module> <ivysettings> <settings defaultResolver="chained"/> <resolvers> <chain name="chained">
<ivy pattern="http://my.internal.domain.name/ivy/[organisation]/[module]/[revision]/ivy-[revision].xml"/> <artifact pattern="http://my.internal.domain.name/ivy/[organisation]/[module]/[revision]/[artifact]-[revision].[ext]"/>

<artifact pattern="http://mirrors.ibiblio.org/pub/mirrors/maven2/[organisation]/[module]/[revision]/[artifact]-[revision].[ext]" />
<ibiblio name="ibiblio" m2compatible="true"/> </chain> </resolvers> </ivysettings> <ivy-module version="1.0" xmlns:m="http://ant.apache.org/ivy/maven"> <info organisation="checkstyle" module="checkstyle" revision="5.0" status="release" publication="20090509202448" namespace="maven2" > <license name="GNU Lesser General Public License" url="http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt" />
Checkstyle is a development tool to help programmers write Java code that adheres to a coding standard
</info> <configurations> <conf name="default" visibility="public" description="runtime dependencies and master artifact can be used with this conf" extends="runtime,master"/> <conf name="master" visibility="public" description="contains only the artifact published by this module itself, with no transitive dependencies"/> <conf name="compile" visibility="public" description="this is the default scope, used if none is specified. However, when attempting to exclusively use the "custom-repo" or "ibiblio-mirror" resolvers, I am able to resolve my project's two explicitly defined dependencies, but not checkstyle's dependencies. Is this possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Flash builder 4 - change output filename using external build-config.xml (not Ant)

- by Casey
I'm trying to change the output filename with a config file loaded via the compiler option -load-config. It looks like this in my compiler arguments: -load-config+=build-config.xml. I've tried the following: <flex-config> <o>absolute/path/to/filename</o> </flex-config> and <flex-config> <output>absolute/path/to/filename</output> </flex-config> and <flex-config> <compiler> <o>absolute/path/to/filename</o> </compiler> </flex-config> and <flex-config> <compiler> <output>absolute/path/to/filename</output> </compiler> </flex-config> but none have worked. I'm on a PC using Flash Builder 4. Has anyone else done this? Also, ideally, I want to use a relative path instead of absolute. I can't get this to work either, even if I do so in the "additional compiler arguments" field of the Project configuration. Thanks in advance!

• Can't Get ANT build to work in eclipse

- by Travis
Long story short: I want to add the --core-library flag at compile time to include a library that depends on some javax libraries that aren't included in the android platform. I have attempted the walkthrough here: http://commons.apache.org/scxml/usecases/scxml-stopwatch-on-android.html but nothing ever changed on the emulator. I don't think I can repackage the libraries I'm after because I cannot amend the callers to call the new packages without violating a license agreement. Please, someone, point me in the right direction.

• cpptask ordering of static libraries in gcc command line

- by AC
How do I force cpptask to move the static libraries to the end on arg list issued to the compiler? Here is the clause I am using <cpptasks:cc description="appname" subsystem="console" objdir="obj" outfile="dist/app_test"> <compiler refid="testsslcc" /> <linkerarg value="-L${libdir}" /> <linkerarg value="-L/usr/local/devl/lib" /> <linkerarg value="-Wl,-rpath,../lib" /> <libset libs="unittest ${libs} dsg readline ncurses gcov" /> <fileset dir="test/obj" includes="main.o" /> <fileset dir="." includes="${TCFILES}" /> <fileset dir="../lib" includes="libboost_thread.a libboost_date_time.a" /> </cpptasks:cc> when this executes, libboost_thread.a libboost_date_time.a are first files in the argument list passed the compiler, gcc -ggdb -Wl,-export-dynamic -Wshadow -Wno-format-y2k ../../lib/libboost_date_time.a ../../lib/libboost_thread.a x.cpp ... which causes compiler error. By manually moving them to the end of the argument list, the application compiles without error. gcc -ggdb -Wl,-export-dynamic -Wshadow -Wno-format-y2k x.cpp ... ../../lib/libboost_date_time.a ../../lib/libboost_thread.a And yes I have tried changing the order in the xml, and that of course didn't work. For now I am using an exec task to call gcc with the files in the correct order but this of course is a hack.

• propertyregex removes return characters in multiline

- by javydreamercsw
I'm using ants propertyregex method to change a property and it works fine up to a point. I'm lossing return characters. Here's what I'm trying to change: cluster.path=\ ${nbplatform.active.dir}/harness:\ ${nbplatform.active.dir}/platform:\ ${nbplatform.active.dir}/nb This is in a .properties file. So I'm trying to change it like this: <propertyregex property="cluster.path" input="${cluster.path}" regexp="nbplatform.active.dir" replace="xplatform.base" global="true" override="true"/> The stuff is replaced but I get: cluster.path= ${xplatform.base}/harness\: ${xplatform.base}/platform\: ${xplatform.base}/nb This brakes logic down the line not controlled by me (Netbeans) that uses the ':' as delimiter. Any idea?

• android compile error: could not reserve enough space for object heap

- by moonlightcheese
I'm getting this error during compilation: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not create the Java virtual machine. Could not reserve enough space for object heap What's worse, the error occurs intermittently. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. It seems to be dependent on the amount of code in the application. If I get rid of some variables or drop some imported libraries, it will compile. Then when I add more to it, I get the error again. I've included the following sources into the application in the [project_root]/src/ directory: org.apache.httpclient (I've stripped all references to log4j from the sources, so don't need it) org.apache.codec (as a dependency) org.apache.httpcore (dependency of httpclient) and my own activity code consisting of nothing more than an instance of HttpClient. I know this has something to do with the amount of memory necessary during compile time or some compiler options, and I'm not really stressing my system while i'm coding. I've got 2GB of memory on this Core Duo laptop and windows reports only 860MB page file usage (haven't used any other memory tools. I should have plenty of memory and processing power for this... and I'm only compiling some common http libs... total of 406 source files. What gives?
