  • How can I select values from different rows depending on the most recent entry date, all for the sam

    Basically I have a table which is used to hold employee work wear details. It is formed of the columns: EmployeeID, CostCentre, AssociateLevel, IssueDate, TrouserSize, TrouserLength, TopSize & ShoeSize. An employee can be assigned a pair of trousers, a top and shoes at the same time or only one or two pieces of clothing. As we all know peoples sizes and employee levels can change which is why I need help really. Different types of employees (associatelevels) require different colours of clothing but you can ignore this part. Everytime an employee receives an item of clothing a new row will be inserted into the table with an input date. I need to be able to select the most recent clothes size for each item of clothing for each employee. It is not necessary for all the columns to hold values because an employee could receive trousers or poloshirts at different times in the year. So for example if employee '54664LSS' was given a pair of 'XL' trousers and a 'L' top on 24/03/11 but then received a 'M' top on 26/05/10. The input of these items would be help on two different rows obviously. So if I wanted to select the most recent clothing for each clothes category. Then the values of the 'M' sized top and the 'L' sized trousers would need to be returned. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm pretty stuck :(. Thanks.

  • Django: How can I delete a formset entry if one of it's data is blank?

    Hi, I have the following scenario: I have a form with data that does not need translation and a formset with a textfield that should be translated into an undefined amount of languages. Both parts are bound to a model. Each translated text is kept in a model with a foreign key that binds it to the untranslatable data. Something like: class Person(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=60) birth_date = models.DateField() class PersonBio(models.Model): person = models.ForeignKey(Person) locale = models.CharField(max_length=10) bio = models.TextField() Each form in the formset has 2 fields: A textfield (with the translated text) A locale field (with the language into which the text was translated) I've got it working with no problems until I tryed to change it's normal behaviour. I wanted to eliminate the need for the DELETE field by deleting an instance of the translated text if the textfield was left blank. I've googled quite a lot now and read the whole documentation for forms, formsets and model validation but had no luck. To be honest, I couldn't even think of a solution. Where should I implement this? On a Form clean() method? On the view? Somewhere in the Fieldset? Fieldset's save() method, maybe? I'll keep trying to find a way to do that, but any help/tip/clue is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I’m going to delete all users which has no subscription but I seem to run into problems each time I try to detect the users. My schemas look like this: Users = {userid, name} Subscriptionoffering = {userid, subscriptionname} Now, what I’m going to do is to delete all users in the user table there has a count of zero in the subscriptionoffering table. Or said in other words: All users which userid is not present in the subscriptionoffering table. I’ve tried with different queries but with no result. I’ve tried to say where user.userid <> subscriptionoffering.userid, but that doesn’t seem to work. Do anyone know how to create the correct query? Thanks Mestika

  • Database error when deleting entry in my rails app.

    Hi Everyone...again! I have almost everything in my Rails app working, with the exception of detroying entries. I can destroy entries for companies but not kases and people. The following error show when trying to do so: SQLite3::SQLException: no such column: kases_people.kase_id: SELECT * FROM "kases" INNER JOIN "kases_people" ON "kases".id = "kases_people".kase_id WHERE ("kases_people".person_id = 5 ) I suspect this is an error with the party model for the has_many :through associations that I dont fully understand. In the run_queue we have a bitmap, a counter, and the array of lists themselves. For a list that is empty because there are no running tasks with its priority, what do the next and prev pointers point to?

    I need to test a two-stage login system which first asks for your email address and password and then presents the user with two select lists containing [a-zA-Z0-9]. The labels beside the drop down's are of the form 'Select character X from your security phrase', where X is a random character index from a known security phrase. I'd rather not stub the code for an acceptance test, so is it possible to write a matcher in cucumber which will, given that we know the whole phrase, select the required character in each of the two lists?     Hi all, We are creating three different websites using asp.net but for the user part we want to implement an approach so that each user only need to create an account in any of these three sites but use the same account in other websites too. here is what I've suggested : create a useracount.website.com server then put the sql server there and implement core user account library there such as (creating/editing/etc...) whenever a visitor needs to have an account or needs to login into out sites then we will redirect him to the useracount.website.com address and he/she should login from that point. and for the maintaining the user's states I've suggested to using cookies. and all of these scenarios should be implemented by asp.net and sql. please let me know with best approach cause I feel mine is not that good specially the cookie part. cheers.

    I want to create a real time-series array. Currently, I am using the statistics gem to pull out values for each 'day': define_statistic :sent_count, :count => :all, :group => 'DATE(date_sent)', :filter_on => {:email_id => 'email_id > = ?'}, :order => 'DATE(date_sent) ASC' What this does is create an array where there are values for a date, for example [["12-20-2010",1], ["12-24-2010",3]] But I need it to fill in the null values, so it looks more like: [["12-20-2010",1], ["12-21-2010",0], ["12-22-2010",0], ["12-23-2010",0], ["12-24-2010",3]] Notice how the second example has "0" values for the days that were missing from the first array.

Is this possible? How should I prevent this?

    I am not sure am I doing these correct. I have 3 models, Account, User, and Event. Account contains a group of Users. Each User have its own username and password for login, but they can access the same Account data under the same Account. Events is create by a User, which other Users in the same Account can also read or edit it. I created the following migrations and models. Is this setting correct? Every time when a user create a new account, the system will ask for the user information, e.g. username and password. How can I add them into correct tables?     hi, some bad legancy web application projects still have classic asp files. these project consist of 95% of classic .asp files and the rest only of asp.net (.aspx). if you right click on an .aspx file in the solution explorer of VS you can choose "view in browser" and "browse with...". however if i right click on an classic .asp file there, there is no such option! do you have any tip/hint/addin for me so that it will show these two context menu entries also for .asp files? i run all my projects in IIS not the build in casini web development server VS comes with! thanks, toebens

  • Is it better to store user text (such as a blog entry or private messages) in the database or as flat files?

    I'm building a social networking type site that will be storing large chunks of text that's entered by users, such as blog entries and private messages. As such, these will be entered once, with minimal revisions, but many reads by multiple users over time. I'm using MySQL, by the way. My concerns are: Storing large blocks of text on the database will fill the database to capacity eventually. I read somewhere that storing user text in flat files is a security risk? (The filenames will be generated dynamically by the PHP, not by the user.) Storing them as text files may cause them to become out of sync if I ever have to reinitialize the database and restore it from backups. What are all your thoughts and advice, pros and cons?
