    Hi, I have some code where the model contains some classes like (vb.net pseudocode, but could be any OO language): Enum AttributeType Boolean Date String End Enum MustInherit Class Attibute Must Override Function Type As AttributeType End Class Class BooleanAttribute: Attribute Function Type As AttributeType Return AttributeType.Boolean End Function End Class And the view contains some code like: Select Case AttributeType Case Boolean //Display checkbox control Case Date //Display date picker control Case String //Display textbox control End Select I don't really like the code in the view, for the hopefully obvious reasons (what happens when I get a new attribute type etc). My question is, how should I replace it? I could easily add a method to the concrete classes, but that pollutes the model with UI stuff so that's a horrible idea. I could move the select into a factory, but that seems to be just hiding the problem. Can anybody advise a better approach?

    I'm trying to save a file in a subdirectory in Android 1.5. I can successfully create a directory using _context.GetFileStreamPath("foo").mkdir(); (_context is the Activity where I start the execution of saving the file) but then if I try to create a file in foo/ by _context.GetFileStreamPath("foo/bar.txt"); I get a exception saying I can't have directory separator in a file name ("/"). I'm missing something of working with files in Android... I thought I could use the standard Java classes but they don't seem to work... I searched the Android documentation but I couldn't fine example and google is not helping me too... I'm asking the wrong question (to google)... Can you help me out with this? Thank you!

Is there a way to recursively loop through the files and gather up all of these file names into a .txt file? I'm not sure how to implement this into my Console app--so does anybody have any code that might help?

    I just started with Codeigniter and this is driving me nuts. I have a query that determines whether a user has bought any programs. I then have to use that program's type category to run and determine how many times he or she has recorded a query in another table. Sorry for the confusion but the code hopefully makes sense.     So what would be nice is if you could do something like the following (not necessarily with this format, just the general idea): data Minor = MinorA | MinorB data Major = Minor | MajorB isMinor :: Major -> Bool isMinor Minor = True isMinor _ = False So isMinor MinorA would report True (instead of an error.) At the moment you might do something like: data Major = MinorA | MinorB | MajorB isMinor :: Major -> Bool isMinor MinorA = True isMinor MinorB = True isMinor _ = False It's not terrible or anything, but it doesn't expand nicely (as in if Minor when up to MinorZ this would be terribly clunky). To avoid that problem you can wrap Minor: data Minor = MinorA | MinorB data Major = MajorA Minor | MajorB isMinor :: Major -> Bool isMinor (MajorA _) = True isMinor _ = False But now you have to make sure to wrap your Minors to use them as a Major... again not terrible; just doesn't really express the semantics I'd like very well (i.e. Major can be any Minor or MajorB). The first (legal) example is "Major can be MinorA..." but doesn't have any knowledge of Minor and the second is "Major can be MajorA that takes a Minor..." p.s. No, this isn't really about anything concrete.

    I have this query which displays some properties and count the number of references to it from an other table: SELECT p.id,p.propName ( SELECT COUNT(*) FROM propLoc WHERE propLoc.propID = p.id ) AS number FROM property as p WHERE p.category != 'natural' This generates a good table with all the information I want to filter: id | propName | number 3 | Name 1 | 3 4 | Name 2 | 1 5 | Name 3 | 0 6 | Name 4 | 10 etc etc I now want to filter out the properties with number <= 0 So I tried to add an AND number > 0 But it reacts with Unknown column 'number' in 'where clause' apparently you can't filter on a name specified by a subquery? How can I achieve my goal?

  • VB.NET handling data between different forms

    Hi, I'm writing a simple application - address book. User enters new addresses and they are added as an entry to a list visible on the main form (frmStart). I use one form to add and edit (AddContForm). Add button on the frmStart works fine, however I experience some problems with the edit button as when I press it and enter new data they are added as new entry however the previous entry is still there. Logic is handled by Contact.vb class. Please let me know how to fix this problem.   • How to manage sub-domains on WinHost with IIS7 URL Rewrite 2.0?

    I'm trying out WinHost and I'm running into some issues with sub-domains. On WinHost, you can have multiple sub-domains per hosting account, but each sub-domain points to the root website. E.g. you can have www.example.com, sub1.example.com, and sub2.example.com but all of them display the content at http://www.example.com/. Other Hosts allow you to point sub-domains to a sub folder in your website. This would allow you to point sub1.example.com to /sub1, sub2.example.com to /sub2 and www.example.com to /. WinHost recommends using an asp/aspx page to redirect http://sub1.example.com to http://sub1.example.com/sub1, which points to /sub1. While that would work, I'd like to not have the subdomain in the url twice. So I tried using IIS7 URL Rewrite to point http://sub1.example.com to /sub1. Ben Powell describes this in detail on his blog. This is great, except Request.ApplicationPath is now /sub1/path/to/current/page.aspx, which breaks ASP.Net Themes (and probably other stuff too). What can I do to fix the ApplicationPath? Is there a better way to accomplish this?

    Is there a way to capture all requests to arbitrary sub-domains which do not have a virtual host setup, and redirect to a custom 404 page in nginx? I will have a wild card A record setup *.example.com and all our users will have a sub-domain username.example.com. If someone enters a sub-domain which does not exist how can I redirect to a custom 404 page rather than have it resolve since wild card is setup?

  • Excel: Is it possible to have rows with sub-totals that doesn't ruin the total-total?

    I have an excel sheet which looks something like this: date text value other-value date text value other-value date text value other-value date text value other-value totals sum other-sum The sum is of course a sum of all the values above it. What I am wondering is if there is a way I can add rows with a sub-total at random places through out that list. For example if I would like to have a sub-total for each new month. My problem is of course that the total sum will become way to large because it will also sum the rows with the sub-totals. Does Excel have a feature that can help me so I can have the sub-totals and a correct total-total? I'm using Excel 2010.

  • How can I open a shared sub calendar in Outlook 2010?

    There is a team in my office that has a shared calendar (the team calendar is set up as a user in Active Directory/Exchange, so treat the team as a user). The team also has 3 sub-calendars for the different team members. Other people in the office need to be able to access this team's calendar. They can go to Open Calendar in Outlook and see the main calendar, but they cannot see the sub-calendars. The sub-calendars all have the Default user permissions set to Reviewer. If you go to File → Account Settings → Change [logged in Exchange account] → More Settings → Advanced and add the team's mailbox, it does show the calendars in Outlook, but it comes up under My Calendars instead of Shared Calendars. We need to be able to go to Open Calendar and open the calendar and open all the sub-calendars this way. How is this possible?

  • How to create a WHM/cPanel account, without creating a new sub-domain?

    I have a basic VPS (full root access), with WHM/cPanel, and am learning the ropes. I'm trying to create a new account for an existing domain (mysite.com), and so far WHM won't let me - it either wants a sub-domain or fake domain, but won't allow two accounts for one domain. In the beginning, there was only the root account, and it wouldn't let me login to cPanel - a quick chat with tech support, and I am informed that I need to create a second account, which I did. So now I have an account, call it ns1me, for domain mysite.com. Now I want to create a django account. I go through the same process, but WHM won't allow me to use mysite.com as the domain for django. The docs recommend a sub-domain, so I fill the box in with django.mysite.com. I then realize that has actually created a sub-domain - going to django.mysite.com shows me its home directory, along with helpful information about what version of Apache, Python, and other mods its running (thanks, Apache). I really don't want a sub-domain, so that's out. Another chat with tech support, and they recommend a fake domain name, as it won't create anything. Sure enough, using a domain of djangomysite.com works, and WHM allows me to create a django account. But of course, I can't send email to [email protected] (where I could to [email protected]). What I want, is to be able to create a second account, associated with mysite.com (so I can run cPanel logged in as django, send email to [email protected], etc) - without creating a whole new sub-domain, or fake domain.

We opened every service provider's own page on our site, but now we get a lot of applications from those providers that want sites from their own. We want to make a full site for every service provider, but rather put them on sub domain URLs. (They don’t mind, it's OK for them.) So, my site is www.exaple.com Their site will be: provider.example.com Now I have two questions: Can the content on the provider sites harm my site in SEO? If one from those sub domains is punished by Google because the owner does "black hat SEO", how it will affect the rood domain? Can it make the root domain get punished?

Tables used: Quotes, Users QUOTES TABLE qid, (quote id) owner_uid, creator_uid SQL SYNTAX: SELECT q.qid, q.owner_uid, q.creator_uid, owner.fname, owner.lname FROM quotes q, (SELECT u.fname, u.lname FROM users u WHERE u.uid = q.owner_uid) AS owner WHERE q.qid = '#' SUMMARY I want to be able to use the quote table's owner_uid and specify it for the owner table so I can return all the owner info for that particular quote. The problem is, q.owner_uid is not recognized in the owner sub-query. What am I doing wrong?

  • Problem Implementing StructureMap in VB.Net Conversion of SharpArchitecture

    I work in a VB.Net environment and have recently been tasked with creating an MVC enviroment to use as a base to work from. I decided to convert the latest SharpArchitecture release (Q3 2009) into VB, which on the whole has gone fine after a bit of hair pulling. I came across a problem with Castle Windsor where my custom repository interface (lives in the core/domain project) that was reference in the constructor of my test controller was not getting injected with the concrete implementation (from the data project). I hit a brick wall with this so basically decided to switch out Castle Windsor for StructureMap. I think I have implemented this ok as everything compiles and runs and my controller ran ok when referencing a custom repository interface. It appears now that I have/or cannot now setup my generic interfaces up properly (I hope this makes sense so far as I am new to all this). When I use IRepository(Of T) (wanting it to be injected with a concrete implementation of Repository(Of Type)) in the controller constructor I am getting the following runtime error: "StructureMap Exception Code: 202 No Default Instance defined for PluginFamily SharpArch.Core.PersistenceSupport.IRepository`1[[DebtRemedy.Core.Page, DebtRemedy.Core, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null]], SharpArch.Core, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b5f559ae0ac4e006" Here are my code excerpts that I am using (my project is called DebtRemedy).     I'm in the need to convert excel macros into jquery code, the function is that you need to click on the plus sign to unfold and show the sub rows to modify column2 if you want to type values in column2, the other columns can't be modified. You can't straightly modify values of column2 until you unfold the parent row, because there are many sub rows belonging to parent row,say Car. The values of Name, Model, Code are existing, they are master data, no need to type or modify. please see the snapshot at folded and unfolded, besides modifying values in sub rows , I need to be able to know which sub rows are modified and values of those rows.Initially the editable columns are blank. And when you click on the minus sign, the sub rows can be folded again,but the modified values won't be lost,they are still there when unfolded again. One last requirement is it's cross devices, the code must run well on pc,mobile phone,pad. Is that possible? Many thanks.
