  • offsetWidth or CSS expression problem for IE6

    I need to set the width of textboxes as 80% of it's parent. So first I used td input[type="text"] { width: 80%; } But it was not rendering properly if the input is the child of td. So, I used Css expressions td input[type="text"] { width: expression(this.parentNode.offsetWidth*0.8); } It is working as I wanted in every browser except IE 6. Can anybody help me, where I am going wrong? I know that expressions are allowed in IE 6. So, is it the problem of using css expression or something to do offsetWidth. Thanks in advance.

    I need to be able to check for a pattern with | in them. For example an expression like d*|*t should return true for a string like "dtest|test". I'm no regular expression hero so I just tried a couple of things, like: Regex Pattern = new Regex("s*\|*d"); //unable to build because of single backslash Regex Pattern = new Regex("s*|*d"); //argument exception error Regex Pattern = new Regex(@"s*\|*d"); //returns true when I use "dtest" as input, so incorrect Regex Pattern = new Regex(@"s*|*d"); //argument exception error Regex Pattern = new Regex("s*\\|*d"); //returns true when I use "dtest" as input, so incorrect Regex Pattern = new Regex("s*" + "\\|" + "*d"); //returns true when I use "dtest" as input, so incorrect Regex Pattern = new Regex(@"s*\\|*d"); //argument exception error I'm a bit out of options, what should I then use?     My professor was talking about this in a Dynamic programming class and asked us to think over it. She gave us some examples as well. Given a string, we were to find the longest continuous subsequence whose reverse is also a subsequence present in the given string. Example: INPUT: pqrstuvtsrv OUTPUT: i=3, k=2 rst -> tsr (rst found first at i=3 and for 2 more positions) INPUT: mpqrsrqp OUTPUT: i=2, k=6 pqrsrqp in reverse INPUT: mmpqssss OUTPUT: i=5, k=3 I thought of putting the string and its reverse into 2 different arrays and comparing character by character. But I'm sure this is not the best way to do it. Any suggestions as to what could be the most efficient ?

  • Regex Pattern for ignoring a custom escape character

    I am trying to find a suitable regex for matching pair of custom characters in an input string. These custom characters are replaced by their corresponding html tags. For e.g. The input string can have underscores in pairs to indicate words in bold. Hence, _Name_ outputs as <b>Name</b> However if there is a genuine underscore in the string, it cannot be replaced by "bold" tags and has to be ignored. The genuine underscore has to be preceded by / (I couldn't find a better character, it could be one more underscore or hyphen or whatever). Any single or paired occurrance of this genuine underscore has to be ignored by regex. So far I could come up with this regex: var pattern = @"(?!/)_(.*?)(?!/)_"; But it fails in below input string: _Tom_Katy/_Richard/_/_Stephan_and many users It outputs as <b>Tom</b>Katy/<b>Richard/_/</b>Stephan_and many users Many Thanks in Advance, Pr

    There are many ways to expose a Java web application to the consumer: application container (JBoss etc), servlet container (Tomcat etc), OSGi (Knopflerfish etc), self-executable WAR (Winstone etc) and so on. Are there any clear considerations where one approach should be favoured over another? As an example, could a collection of self-executable WARs running as raw Unix processes outperform the same applications deployed within Tomcat taking into account administration and scalability concerns?

    Using MVC3 and Ajax.BeginForm I surprisingly discovered that mvc ajax forms submits elements with the attribute disabled="disabled". I have tested both select and text inputs. I was suprised because they should not be submited and they will not when using Html.BeginForm. Is there some hidden option or a workaround for this? I do not want that. I want to use pattern for matching but also for creating strings same way as with string format, replacing named group "ID" with value. Is that possible? I'm looking for something like: string pattern = "^(?<PREFIX>abc_)(?<ID>[0-9])+(?<POSTFIX>_def)$"; string result = ReplaceWithFormat(pattern, "ID", 999); Result will contain "abc_999_def". How to accomplish this?

I have to give eight inputs to the network, with a hidden layer consisting 8 nodes and a single node output layer. Can anybody please give me some coding ideas for this???? This project was not a AI course assignment, but my major project. I have studied about the stocks and found various factors that affected the future value of stock of a company. Now I have to use these factors as input to the neural network. I am not getting into how to implement these factors in the neural network. I have just decided to use those eight factors as eight nodes in the input layer but things are going complex. My concern is to use these factors as input and train the neural network for output as next day's stock value. What major things should I have to care about??

  • Can the behaviour of new HTML5 form types be overridden?

    I was wondering if anyone knew if it were possible to override the default behaviour of browsers that support the new HTML input types such as type="email" and type="date"? I appreciate that I could test if a browser supports an input type and provide a fallback for those browsers that don't, but what I want to know is is there any way to prevent that default behaviour from happening in browsers that do support it? For instance, if in Opera I want to use the date input type, but I don't want Opera to display the native datepicker (i.e. I want to replace it with my own custom one) is that possible? Are there any DOM events triggered like onDatePickerShow that one can hook into? I don't believe that this is possible, but if anyone knows for sure one way or the other I would love to hear from you.

So I when I click on some of the buttons I have to collect the data from the input fields and do something with the data. If I click BUTTON1 I collect data from inputField1 inputField2 inputField3 BUTTON2 inputField4 inputField5, etc. Probably I should create the input fields programmatically and group them in forms. Any idea how to do it? Any idea?

    I have an ASP page which displays a text box when it loads. It takes an input number, send it to the server through post back, and then displays some record in a grid view. After a number is input into the box, the server fetches some data from a database and add records to the grid view. It also contains a link column, whose URL is set to "#", so that the page isn't redirected when it is clicked. Now I want to bind a jquery "click" event to that link. How can I do that ? I have tried that to do myself but failed, because it is not available when the DOM is loaded (since it only contains rows when a number is input through the box), and is being modified through ASP.NET Ajax post back.

I have this function that returns 1 if the number of black pixels is greater than treshold def checkBlackPixels( img, threshold ): width = img.width height = img.height nchannels = img.nChannels step = img.widthStep dimtot = width * height data = img.imageData black = 0 for i in range( 0, height ): for j in range( 0, width ): r = data[i*step + j*nchannels + 0] g = data[i*step + j*nchannels + 1] b = data[i*step + j*nchannels + 2] if r == 0 and g == 0 and b == 0: black = black + 1 if black >= threshold * dimtot: return 1 else: return 0 The loop (scan each pixel of a given image) works good when the input is an RGB image...but if the input is a single channel image I get this error: for j in range( width ): TypeError: Nested sequences should have 2 or 3 dimensions The input single channel image (called 'rg' in the next example) is taken from an RGB image called 'src' processed with cvSplit and then cvAbsDiff cvSplit( src, r, g, b, 'NULL' ) rg = cvCreateImage( cvGetSize(src), src.depth, 1 ) # R - G cvAbsDiff( r, g, rg ) I've also already noticed that the problem comes from the difference image got from cvSplit... I'm just thinking it would be nice to reformulate that query so it could be called like SELECT * FROM dbo.table1 WHERE column1 REGEXLIKE '[0-9][A-Z]' Is it possible to create new comparison operators using CLR Code. (I'm guessing from my brief glance around the web that the answer is NO, but no harm asking)

    Problem : How to redirect the user to a specific executed transaction screen in SAP? Generated the SAP shortcut and able to redirect the user to specific transaction screen. It is also possible to prefill the required input parameters. The corresponding line in the shortcut is- Command=AB12 RIWO00-input1=200001212; where AB12 is the trasaction, and input1 is the input parameter. This will open that SAP screen, with AB12 transaction and the input parameter would be filled with values. But this mandates the user to clicks on enter explicitly/click on execute button explicitly after opening through the shortcut file. Is it possible to include that enter also in the shortcut file?     After a bit of searching, I've found that it's possible to instantiate a WTForms object in web.py using the following code: form = my_form(**web.input()) web.input() returns a "dictionary-like" web.storage object, but without the double asterisks WTForms will raise an exception: TypeError: formdata should be a multidict-type wrapper that supports the 'getlist' method From the Python documentation I understand that the two asterisks are used to unpack a dictionary of named arguments. That said, I'm still a bit confused about exactly what is going on. What makes the web.storage object returned by web.input() "dictionary-like" enough that it can be unpacked by ** but not "dictionary-like" enough that it can be passed as-is to the WTForms constructor? I know that this is an extremely basic question, but any advice to help a novice programmer would be greatly appreciated!
