  • How to increase mysql table comments length?

    Seems like max table comments length in mysql is only 60 characters. I'm developing an aplicacion in php symfony, which automatically generates sql ddl sentences, and in many cases those comments are far beyond 60 characters. Is there some way to increase that limit? thanks a lot

    I have a form text field that I want to allow only numbers and letters in. (i.e., no #$!, etc...) Is there a way to throw up an error and prevent the keypress from actually outputting anything if the user tries to use any character other than numbers and letters? I've been trying to find a plugin, but haven't really found anything that does this...

  • SQL join produces one result only

    Can anyone please tell me why this result is generation only one results? taking in mind that everything is set right and the three tables are populated correctly, i took out the group_concat and it worked but of course with a php undefined index error! SELECT `songs`.`song_name`, `songs`.`add_date`, `songs`.`song_id`, `songs`.`song_picture`, group_concat(DISTINCT artists.artist_name) as artist_name FROM (`songs`) JOIN `mtm_songs_artists` ON `songs`.`song_id` = `mtm_songs_artists`.`song_id` JOIN `artists` ON `artists`.`artist_id` = `mtm_songs_artists`.`artist_id` ORDER BY `songs`.`song_id` DESC LIMIT 10 so i'm guessing it's something related to group_concat. best regards, Rami

If I'm going to use Django as a proxy to serve static files in a view, what are the implications? I'm used to serving static files in Apache and configuring that my media is served without any handlers, but what happens if someone starts downloading 500mb through my Django proxy? Will my Django thread be locked for that user until he recieves the 500mb response?

    I have this PHP/SQL query: $sql = sprintf("SELECT * FROM %sCubeCart_filemanager WHERE filepath REGEXP '%s[\\/\\\\][^\\/\\\\]+$' AND type = '%d' AND disabled = '0' ORDER BY filepath ASC %s", $this->_config['dbprefix'], str_replace(array('\\','/'),'.',$folder), $type, $limit); if '$folder' == 'iha9' it is finding results like 'iha91' and 'iha99' too. Something is wrong with the regular expression, but I don't know how they work, can anyone help?!

    How do I add the character - within the preg_match? preg_match('#^(\w+/){0,2}\w+\.\w+$#', $string) But it must be before the . within string. I've tried just about everything I know here.     Consider the following snippet: puts 'hello'.gsub(/.+/, '\0 \\0 \\\0 \\\\0') This prints (as seen on ideone.com): hello hello \0 \0 This was very surprising, because I'd expect to see something like this instead: hello \0 \hello \\0 My argument is that \ is an escape character, so you write \\ to get a literal backslash, thus \\0 is a literal backslash \ followed by 0, etc. Obviously this is not how gsub is interpreting it, so can someone explain what's going on? And what do I have to do to get the replacement I want above?

  • Ctrl-Backspace Visual Studio 2010

    I recently upgraded to Visual Studio 2010 and found out that when i press Ctrl-Backspace on a empty line it will delete the line, which is what it did in 2008, but then it will also delete the last character on the line above. I have tried to see if there is any settings anywhere but i cant seem to find any. Does anyone know if you can change this or did they make it default in 2010 Im using C#, if that makes a difference.

    I have a simple table of data, and I'd like to select the row that's at about the 40th percentile from the query. I can do this right now by first querying to find the number of rows and then running another query that sorts and selects the nth row: select count(*) as `total` from mydata; select * from mydata order by `field` asc limit 37,1; Can I combine these two queries into a single query?

    I was just adding some more CCSprites to a CCLayer and it just starts crashing giving me the error: objc[989] objc_exception_throw failed. Is there like a limit to the amount of CCSprites you can have on a screen or something?   • mysql query building output taking a long time

    I have a simple query that does select * from t limit 1; on a remote mysql server. I use squirrel(mysql client) to run it, it shows: Query 1 of 1 elapsed time (seconds) - Total: 22.047, SQL query: 1.047, Building output: 21 why does building output take such a long time? what does this process do? when running from mysql command line, the whole process takes 0.3 secs (also remotely)
