  • Problem Binding a ObservableCollection to a ListBox in WPF/MVVM

    - by alexqs
I'm working in some code , using wpf and starting to use mvvm. So far i have no problem, when i have one element and I have to show the values of it in the screen (binding of the specific name of the property). But now, i have to work with a property list , not knowing the names of it. So I created a class, named GClass, that only have two propierties, name and value. I created the ObservableCollection, and fill for now with direct values, and asign the view (lstview) datacontext with the object i have created. But I cant see any result, it always shows a blank listbox. Can someone tell me if see why is happening ? Code of c# VDt = new ObservableCollection<GClass>(); var vhDt = message.SelectSingleElement(typeof (Vh)) as Vehiculo; if(vhDt != null) { VDt.Add(new GClass() {Name = "Numero: ", Value = ""}); VDt.Add(new GClass() {Name = "Marca: ", Value = ""}); VDt.Add(new GClass() {Name = "Conductor: ", Value = ""}); lstview.DataContext = this; _regionManager.RegisterViewWithRegionInIndex(RegionNames.MainRegion, lstview, 0); Code of the view <ListBox Margin="5,5,5,25" ItemsSource="{Binding VDt}"> <ListBox.Template> <ControlTemplate> <ListViewItem Content="{Binding Name}"></ListViewItem> <ListViewItem Content="{Binding Value}"></ListViewItem> </ControlTemplate> </ListBox.Template> </ListBox> I have research here, but i cant see, what I'm doing wrong. I will apreciate if someone help me.

  • FindByIdentity in System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagment Memory Issues

    - by MVC Fanatic
I'm working on an active directory managament application. In addition to the typical Create A New User, Enable/Disable an account, reset my password etc. it also managages application permissions for all of the clients web applications. Application management is handled by thousands of AD groups such as which are built from 3 letter codes for the application, section and site, there are also hundreds of AD groups which determine which applications and locations a coordinator can grant rights to. All of these groups in turn belong to other groups so I typically filter the groups list with the MemberOf property to find the groups that a user directly belongs to (or everyone has rights to do everything). I've made extensive use of the System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagment namespace using the FindByIdentity method in 31 places throughout the application. This method calls a private method FindPrincipalByIdentRefHelper on the internal ADStoreCtx class. A SearchResultCollection is created but not disposed so eventually typically once or twice a day the web server runs out of memory and all of the applications on the web server stop responsing until iis is reset because the resources used by the com objects aren't ever relased. There are places where I fall back to the underlying directory objects, but there are lot of places where I'm using the properties on the Principal - it's a vast improvement over using the esoteric ad property names in the .Net 2.0 Directory services code. I've contacted microsoft about the problem and it's been fixed in .Net 4.0 but they don't currently have plans to fix it in 3.5 unless there is intrest in the community about it. I only found information about it in a couple of places the MDSN documentation in the community content state's there is a memory leak at the bottom (guess I should have read that before using the the method) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb345628.aspx And the class in question is internal and doesn't expose SearchResultsCollection outside the offending method so I can't get at the results to dispose them or inherit from the class and override the method. So my questions are Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so were you able to work around it? Do I have any option besides rewriting the application not using any of the .Net 3.5 active directory code? Thanks

  • C# FileStream position is off after calling ReadLine()

    - by Cristi Diaconescu
I'm trying to read a (small-ish) file in chunks of a few lines at a time, and I need to return to the beginning of particular chunks. The problem is, after the very first call to streamReader.ReadLine(); the streamReader.BaseStream.Position property is set to the end of the file! Now I assume some caching is done in the backstage, but I was expecting this property to reflect the number of bytes that I used from that file. For instance, calling ReadLine() again will (naturally) return the next line in the file, which does not start at the position previously reported by streamReader.BaseStream.Position. My question is, how can I find the actual position where the 1st line ends, so I can return there later? I can only think of manually doing the bookkeeping, by adding the lengths of the strings returned by ReadLine(), but even here there are a couple of caveats: ReadLine() strips the new-line character(s) which may have a variable length (is is '\n' ? is it "\r\n" ? etc) I'm not sure if this would work ok with variable-length characters ...so right now it seems like my only option is to rethink how I parse the file, so I don't have to rewind. If it helps, I open my file like this: using (var reader = new StreamReader( new FileStream(m_path, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read, FileShare.ReadWrite))) {...} Any suggestions?

  • Databinding between 2 Dependency Properties

    - by stefan.at.wpf
    Hello, I'm trying to do databinding between 2 Dependency Properties. I guess this should be quite easy, anyways I just don't get it. I already googled but I couldn't really find out what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to bind the ControlPointProperty to the QuadraticBezierSegment.Point1Property, however it doesn't work. Thanks for any hint! class DataBindingTest : DependencyObject { // Dependency Property public static readonly DependencyProperty ControlPointProperty; // .NET wrapper public Point ControlPoint { get { return (Point)GetValue(DataBindingTest.ControlPointProperty); } set { SetValue(DataBindingTest.ControlPointProperty, value); } } // Register Dependency Property static DataBindingTest() { DataBindingTest.ControlPointProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("ControlPoint", typeof(Point), typeof(DataBindingTest)); } public DataBindingTest() { QuadraticBezierSegment bezier = new QuadraticBezierSegment(); // Binding Binding myBinding = new Binding(); myBinding.Source = ControlPointProperty; BindingOperations.SetBinding(bezier, QuadraticBezierSegment.Point1Property, myBinding); // Test Binding: Change the binding source ControlPoint = new Point(1, 1); MessageBox.Show(bezier.Point1.ToString()); // gives (0,0), should be (1,1) } }

  • jquery newbie: combine validate with hidding submit button.

    - by Jeffb
I'm new a jQuery. I have gotten validate to work with my form (MVC 1.0 / C#) with this: <script type="text/javascript"> if (document.forms.length > 0) { document.forms[0].id = "PageForm"; document.forms[0].name = "PageForm"; } $(document).ready(function() { $("#PageForm").validate({ rules: { SigP: { required: true } }, messages: { SigP: "<font color='red'><b>A Sig Value is required. </b></font>" } }); }); </script> I also want to hide the Submit button to prevent twitchy mouse syndrome from causing duplicate entry before the controller completes and redirects (I'm using an GPR pattern). The following works for this purpose: <script type="text/javascript"> // // prevent double-click on submit // jQuery('input[type=submit]').click(function() { if (jQuery.data(this, 'clicked')) { return false; } else { jQuery.data(this, 'clicked', true); return true; } }); </script> However, I can't get the two to work together. Specifically, if validate fails after the Submit button is clicked (which happens given how the form works), then I can't get the form submitted again unless I do a browser refresh that resets the 'clicked' property. How can I rewrite the second method above to not set the clicked property unless the form validates? Thx.

  • C# Static constructors design problem - need to specify parameter

    - by Neil Dobson
I have a re-occurring design problem with certain classes which require one-off initialization with a parameter such as the name of an external resource such as a config file. For example, I have a corelib project which provides application-wide logging, configuration and general helper methods. This object could use a static constructor to initialize itself but it need access to a config file which it can't find itself. I can see a couple of solutions, but both of these don't seem quite right: 1) Use a constructor with a parameter. But then each object which requires corelib functionality should also know the name of the config file, so this has to be passed around the application. Also if I implemented corelib as a singleton I would also have to pass the config file as a parameter to the GetInstance method, which I believe is also not right. 2) Create a static property or method to pass through the config file or other external parameter. I have sort of used the latter method and created a Load method which initializes an inner class which it passes through the config file in the constructor. Then this inner class is exposed through a public property MyCoreLib. public static class CoreLib { private static MyCoreLib myCoreLib; public static void Load(string configFile) { myCoreLib = new MyCoreLib(configFile); } public static MyCoreLib MyCoreLib { get { return myCoreLib; } } public class MyCoreLib { private string configFile; public MyCoreLib(string configFile) { this.configFile = configFile; } public void DoSomething() { } } } I'm still not happy though. The inner class is not initialized until you call the load method, so that needs to be considered anywhere the MyCoreLib is accessed. Also there is nothing to stop someone calling the load method again. Any other patterns or ideas how to accomplish this?

  • How to implement DisplayMemberPath for my Wpf UserControl?

    - by Bevan
I'm writing a WPF User Control for my application, wrapping a ListBox and a few other items. The ListBox has a new ItemTemplate that presents four pieces of information for each item in my list. I can hard code each of the four bindings to specific properties on my list items and they display fine. However, I want my UserControl to be a bit more flexible. On ListBox and ComboBox there is a property DisplayMemberPath (inherited from ItemsControl) that seems to "inject" the appropriate property binding into the standard ItemTemplate. How do I achieve the same result with my user control? I'd like to set up four new properties to allow configuration of the information displayed: public string LabelDisplayPath { get; set; } public string MetricDisplayPath { get; set; } public string TitleDisplayPath { get; set; } public string SubtitleDisplayPath { get; set; } Reviewing ItemsControl.DisplayMemberPath with Reflector seems to go down the rabbit hole, I haven't been able to fathom how it works. Also, if I'm completely off course - and there's another, more "WPF" technique that I should be using instead, please point me in that direction.

  • [Architecture] Roles for white-label service access.

    - by saurabhj
Okay, I know I'm doing something wrong - but can't figure out a better way. I am developing a website which is going to allow users to setup their own mini-websites. Something like Ning. Also, I have only 1 basic login and access to each mini website is provided (right now) via roles. So the way I am doing this right now is: Everytime a new mini website is created - say blah, I create 2 roles in my application. blah_users and blah_admin The user creating the mini website is given the role - blah_admin and every other user wanting to join this mini website (or network) is given the role - blah_user. Anyone can view data from any website. However to add data, one must be a member of that mini site (must have the blah_user role assigned) The problem that I am facing is that by doing a role based system, I'm having to do loads of stuff manually. Asp.Net 2 controls which work on the User.IsAunthenticated property are basically useless to me now because along with the IsAuthenticated property, I must also check if the user has the proper role. I'm guessing there is a better way to architect the system but I am not sure how. Any ideas? This website is being developed in ASP.Net 2 on IIS 6. Thanks a tonne!

  • Creating instance of a service-side DataContract class on client-side in WCF

    - by hgulyan
Hi, I have my custom class Customer with its properties. I added DataContract mark above the class and DataMember to properties and it was working fine, but I'm calling a service class's function, passing customer instance as parameter and some of my properties get 0 values. While debugging I can see my properties values and after it gets to the function, some properties' values are 0. Why it can be so? There's no code between this two actions. DataContract mark workes fine, everything's ok. Any suggestions on this issue? I tried to change ByRef to ByVal, but it doesn't change anything. Why it would pass other values right and some of integer types just 0? Maybe the answer is simple, but I can't figure it out. Thank You. <DataContract()> Public Class Customer Private Type_of_clientField As Integer = -1 <DataMember(Order:=1)> Public Property type_of_client() As Integer Get Return Type_of_clientField End Get Set(ByVal value As Integer) Type_of_clientField = value End Set End Property End Class <ServiceContract(SessionMode:=SessionMode.Allowed)> <DataContractFormat()> Public Interface CustomerService <OperationContract()> Function addCustomer(ByRef customer As Customer) As Long End Interface type_of_client properties value is 6 before I call addCustomer function. After it enters that function the value is 0. UPDATE: The issue is in instance creating. When I create an instance of a class on client side, that is stored on service side, some of my properties pass 0 or nothing, but when I call a function of a service class, that returns a new instance of that class, it works fine. What's is the difference? Could that be serialization issue?

  • best practice for directory polling

    - by Hieu Lam
Hi all, I have to do batch processing to automate business process. I have to poll directory at regular interval to detect new files and do processing. While old files is being processed, new files can come in. For now, I use quartz scheduler and thread synchronization to ensure that only one thread can process files. Part of the code are: application-context.xml <bean id="methodInvokingJob" class="org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.MethodInvokingJobDetailFactoryBean" <property name="targetObject" ref="documentProcessor" / <property name="targetMethod" value="processDocuments" / </bean DocumentProcessor ..... public void processDocuments() { LOG.info(Thread.currentThread().getName() + " attempt to run."); if (!processing) { synchronized (this) { try { processing = true; LOG.info(Thread.currentThread().getName() + " is processing"); List xmlDocuments = documentManager.getFileNamesFromFolder(incomingFolderPath); // loop over the files and processed unlock files. for (String xmlDocument : xmlDocuments) { processDocument(xmlDocument); } } finally { processing = false; } } } } For the current code, I have to prevent other thread to process files when one thread is processing. Is that a good idea ? or we support multi-threaded processing. In that case how can I know which files is being process and which files has just arrived ? Any idea is really appreciated.

  • IE8 developer tools missing some styles

    - by Craig Warren
Hi, I'm having some problems with some CSS properties in IE8. I've tested my site in IE7, Chrome and Firefox and they work fine but IE8 is having some layout issues. I inspect the developer tool option on ie8 and I've noticed that some of the properties I set in CSS are being ignored by ie8. For example: #header { position: relative; padding: 20px; height: 100px; background:url(header.png); } In this header IE8 ignored the height property: If I inspect the element in developer tools it is missing that property and it's crushed into another line: background:url;HEIGHT: 100PX The same thing happens for floats too: #logon { float: left; text-align:right; width:20%; height: 40px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right:7px; border:0; margin:0; background: url(navgradient.gif); } This ignores the float value: background: url(navgradient.gif); FLOAT:left; What is happening here and how can I fix it?

  • What is the best practice for ouputting data from a collection on an ASP.net Page?

    - by bshacklett
I've ported a page from classic ASP to ASP.net. Part of what happens in this page is that a collection of custom types is generated and then displayed via Response.Write() commands. I'd like to get the business logic separated out into a code behind file (and maybe move this all into a user control), but I can't seem to figure out how I'd actually display the collection once it's been generated. I want to specify a master page here, too, so the code can't stay inline. Here's a very stripped down version of the current code: <% Dim objs as ArrayList = New ArrayList() For i = 0 To 2 Dim obj as Obj = New Obj() obj.setProp1("ASDF") obj.setProp2("FDSA") objs.Add(obj) Next i %> <table> <thead> <tr> <th scope="col">Property 1</th> <th scope="col">Property 2</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <% For Each obj As Obj In objs Dim objProp1 As String = obj.getProp1 Dim objProp2 As String = obj.getProp2 %> <tr> <td><% Response.Write(objProp1)%></td> <td><% Response.Write(objProp2)%></td> </tr> <% Next %> </tbody> </table> What is the ".net" way of doing this?

  • Adding an observer to UIImageView? observer & notifications

    - by sagar
Each class has almost one method named addObserver [imgVURL addObserver:<#(NSObject *)observer#> forKeyPath:<#(NSString *)keyPath#> options:<#(NSKeyValueObservingOptions)options#> context:<#(void *)context#>] Here, imgVURL is an image which is going to be load an image asynchronously. When image will be loaded dynamically - other class will set an image from loaded data. Now, my question is how can we add an observer to UIImageView's instance. Observer and notifications are same or not ? If it is not then what's different ? Let's have some sample code That I did in my project to understand my question. // locating image view from Scroll view by it's tag imgVURL=(UIImageView*)[scrMain viewWithTag:(kTagImagesTag+i)]; // ImageViewURL is a class which contains methods of // didReceiveResponse // didReceiveData // connection ImageViewURL *tmp=[[ImageViewURL alloc] init]; // it has a nonatomic property which will take the reference of my image view tmp.imgV=imgVURL; // now I will pass a url from my an array to property strURL // in strUrl I have custom setter // in which I am initializing a connection tmp.strUrl=[NSURL URLWithString:[[tblmain objectAtIndex:i] valueForKey:@"url"]]; // from ImageViewURL.m file -(void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setNetworkActivityIndicatorVisible:NO]; // NSLog@"ImageView Ref From - %@",imgV); // see imgV has reference of my -> imgVURL (nonatomic, assign) imgV.image=[UIImage imageWithData:myWebData]; [connection release]; connection=nil; } // as you can see in above code many many images are loaded asynchronously // now How can I add an observer to an imageview whether it received or not.

  • How to marshall non-string objects with JAXB and Spring

    - by lesula
I was trying to follow this tutorial in order to create my own restful web-service using Spring framework. The client do a GET request to, let's say http://api.myapp/app/students and the server returns an xml version of the object classroom: @XmlRootElement(name = "class") public class Classroom { private String classId = null; private ArrayList<Student> students = null; public Classroom() { } public String getClassId() { return classId; } public void setClassId(String classId) { this.classId = classId; } @XmlElement(name="student") public ArrayList<Student> getStudents() { return students; } public void setStudents(ArrayList<Student> students) { this.students = students; } } The object Student is another bean containing only Strings. In my app-servlet.xml i copied this lines: <bean id="studentsView" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.xml.MarshallingView"> <constructor-arg ref="jaxbMarshaller" /> </bean> <!-- JAXB2 marshaller. Automagically turns beans into xml --> <bean id="jaxbMarshaller" class="org.springframework.oxm.jaxb.Jaxb2Marshaller"> <property name="classesToBeBound"> <list> <value>com.spring.datasource.Classroom</value> <value>com.spring.datasource.Student</value> </list> </property> </bean> Now my question is: what if i wanted to insert some non-string objects as class variables? Let's say i want a tag containing the String version of an InetAddress, such as <inetAddress>192.168.1.1</inetAddress> How can i force JAXB to call the method inetAddress.toString() in such a way that it appears as a String in the xml? In the returned xml non-string objects are ignored!

  • Displaying Many-To-Many Database relationship in VB.NET 2008 with DataGrid, MS SQL 2008

    - by user337501
Computer bombed while posting this, couldnt find a duplicate question but if there is one, forgive me. So, I've run into a wall. And rather than use a ladder to avoid it, I'd like go through it. I'm setting up what I can best describe as a many-to-many relationship in a database. To examplify, imagine I have three primary tables: Items, Categories, Sections(nevermind the potential redundancy) Then I have another table, Properties. Items, Categories, and Sections can be associated with many properties. A single property can be associated with one, all, or none of the other tables. The best way I can figure to do this is to have join tables make the relationship. i.e. tblItems----(Foreign Key)----tblItems_To_Properties----(Foreign Key)----tblProperties In this example, tblItems simply has an "ItemID" Primary Key. tblItems_To_Properties has its own Primary Key(tblItems_To_PropertiesID), a Foreign Key to the Item(ItemID) and a Foreign key to the Property(PropertyID). The Properties table simply has its primary key(PropertyID) I hope this example isnt too confusing...if I have to I can find a way to put a diagram up or something. My problem is, I want to display this in a DataGrid using the Master-Detail method(DevExpress GridControl). I use the tblItems as a test, and I can see the Items in the parent view, but in the child view I see(understandably) the join table and that is it. My goal is to make it so the Grid ignores the join table and shows the Properties table as the only child. Any help on this method or insight into another solution would be muuuuuuuch appreciat

  • WCF Service timeout in Callback

    - by Muckers Mate
    I'm trying to get to grips with WCF, in particular writing a WCF Service application with callback. I've setup the service, together with the callback contract but when the callback is called, the app is timing out. Essentially, from a client I'm setting a property within the service class. The Setter of this property, if it fails validation fires a callback and, well, this is timing out. I realise that this is probably to it not being an Asynchronous calback, but can someone please show me how to resolve this? Thanks // The call back (client-side) interface public interface ISAPUploadServiceReply { [OperationContract(IsOneWay = true)] void Reply(int stateCode); } // The Upload Service interface [ServiceContract(CallbackContract = typeof(ISAPUploadServiceReply))] public interface ISAPUploadService { int ServerState { [OperationContract] get; [OperationContract(IsOneWay=true)] set; And the implementation... public int ServerState { get { return serverState; } set { if (InvalidState(Value)) { var to = OperationContext.Current.GetCallbackChannel<ISAPUploadServiceReply>(); to.Reply(eInvalidState); } else serverState = value; } }

  • Objective-C Protocols within Protocols

    - by LucasTizma
I recently began trying my hand at using protocols in my Objective-C development as an (obvious) means of delegating tasks more appropriately among my classes. I completely understand the basic notion of protocols and how they work. However, I came across a roadblock when trying to create a custom protocol that in turn implements another protocol. I since discovered the solution, but I am curious why the following DOES NOT work: @protocol STPickerViewDelegate < UIPickerViewDelegate > - ( void )customCallback; @end @interface STPickerView : UIPickerView { id < STPickerViewDelegate > delegate; } @property ( nonatomic, assign ) id < STPickerViewDelegate > delegate; @end Then in a view controller, which conforms to STPickerViewDelegate: STPickerView * pickerView = [ [ STPickerView alloc ] init ]; pickerView.delegate = self; - ( void )customCallback { ... } - ( NSString * )pickerView:( UIPickerView * )pickerView titleForRow:( NSInteger )row forComponent:( NSInteger )component { ... } The problem was that pickerView:titleForRow:forComponent: was never being called. On the other hand, customCallback was being called just fine, which isn't too surprising. I don't understand why STPickerViewDelegate, which itself conforms to UIPickerViewDelegate, does not notify my view controller when events from UIPickerViewDelegate are supposed to occur. Per my understanding of Apple's documentation, if a protocol (A) itself conforms to another protocol (B), then a class (C) that conforms to the first protocol (A) must also conform to the second protocol (B), which is exactly the behavior I want and expected. What I ended up doing was removing the id< STPickerViewDelegate > delegate property from STViewPicker and instead doing something like the following in my STViewPicker implementation where I want to evoke customCallback: if ( [ self.delegate respondsToSelector:@selector( customCallback ) ] ) { [ self.delegate performSelector:@selector( customCallback ) ]; } This works just fine, but I really am puzzled as to why my original approach did not work.

  • JSF Render response programmatically

    - by Shamik
I have one parent page with a parentManagedBean (attached to Session Scope). On click of a button on this parent page, one popup comes which has a childManagedBean (attached to Request scope). Now ChildManagedBean holds a reference to parentManaged bean through JSF's managed property facility. On this popup window, user selects some option which populates a large value object. I use the managed property of childManagedBean to set the values from this large object to that of parentManagedBean. Problem is - The parent page shows a link, on click of which a popup comes, on selection of the popup, the popup disappears and set the values to the parentManaged bean. So far so good, but the newly set values need to appear on the parent page. This is where I am stuck. How to programmatically render the master page/render page when I am at the child managed bean? Is there a way I can get handle of the parent page and refresh it? Note: I'm using JSF 1.1 EDIT- After following the solution of "resubmit-ing the form" from javascript, I am seeing that the old form is getting resubmitting which overwrites all of my changed values.

  • Using kAudioSessionProperty_OtherMixableAudioShouldDuck on iPhone

    - by Cliff
Hello, I'm trying to get consistant behavior out of the kAudioSessionProperty_OtherMixableAudioShouldDuck property on the iPhone to allow iPod music blending and I'm having trouble. At the start of my app I set an Ambient category like so: -(void) initialize { [[AVAudioSession sharedInstance] setCategory: AVAudioSessionCategoryAmbient error: nil]; } Later on when I attempt to play audio I set the duck property using the following method: //this will crossfade the audio with the ipod music - (void) toggleCrossfadeOn:(UInt32)onOff { //crossfade the ipod music AudioSessionSetProperty(kAudioSessionProperty_OtherMixableAudioShouldDuck,sizeof(onOff),&onOff); AudioSessionSetActive(onOff); } I call this passing a numeric "1" just before playing audio like so: [self toggleCrossfadeOn:1]; [player play]; I then call the crossfade method again passing a zero when my app's audio completes using a playback is stopping callback like so: -(void) playbackIsStoppingForPlayer:(MQAudioPlayer*)audioPlayer { NSLog(@"Releasing player"); [audioPlayer release]; [self toggleCrossfadeOn:0]; } In my production app this exact code works as expected, causing the ipod to fade out just before playing my app's audio then fade back in when the audio finishes playing. In a new project I recently started, I get different behavior. The iPod audio fades down and never fades back in. In my production app I use the AVAudioPlayer where in my new app I've written a custom audio player that uses audio queues. Could somebody help me understand the differences and how to properly use this API?

I have the following interface defined to expose a .NET class to COM: [InterfaceType(ComInterfaceType.InterfaceIsDual)] [Guid("6A983BCC-5C83-4b30-8400-690763939659")] [ComVisible(true)] public interface IComClass { object Value { get; set; } object GetValue(); void SetValue(object value); } The implementation of this interface is trivial: [ClassInterface(ClassInterfaceType.None)] [Guid("66D0490F-718A-4722-8425-606A6C999B82")] [ComVisible(true)] public class ComClass : IComClass { private object _value = 123.456; public object Value { get { return this._value; } set { this._value = value; } } public object GetValue() { return this._value; } public void SetValue(object value) { this._value = value; } } I have then registered this using RegAsm, and tried to call it from Excel via the following code: Public Sub ComInterop() Dim cc As ComClass Set cc = New ComClass cc.SetValue (555.555) valueByGetter = cc.GetValue valueByProperty = cc.Value cc.Value = 555.555 End Sub When I step throught this code, valueByGetter = 555.5555 and valueByProperty = 555.555 as expected. However, I get an "Object required" runtime error on the final line. Why does setting the value via the setter method work but setting via the property fail? What do I have to change to get the property to work as expected?

  • validation properties by attribute

    - by netmajor
    I create class with two property - name,link(below). I use simple property validation by Required and StringLength attribute. I bind this class object to WPF ListBox(with textBoxs). But when I have textbox empty or write words longer than 8 sign nothing happens :/ What should I do to fires ErrorMessage? Or how to implement validation in other way ? I also try use : if (value is int) { throw new ArgumentException("Wpisales stringa!!"); } But it only fires in debug mode :/ My class with implementation of attribute validation: public class RssInfo : INotifyPropertyChanged { public RssInfo() { } public RssInfo(string _nazwa, string _link) { nazwa = _nazwa; link = _link; } private string nazwa; [Required(ErrorMessage = "To pole jest obowiazkowe nAZWA")] public string Nazwa { get { return nazwa; } set { if (value != nazwa) { nazwa = value; onPropertyChanged("Nazwa"); } if (value is int) { throw new ArgumentException("Wpisales stringa!!"); } } } private string link; [Required(ErrorMessage="To pole jest obowiazkowe link")] [StringLength(8, ErrorMessage = "Link cannot be longer than 8 characters")] public string Link { get { return link; } set { if (value != link) { link = value; onPropertyChanged("Link"); } } } #region INotifyPropertyChanged Members public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; #endregion private void onPropertyChanged(string propertyName) { if (this.PropertyChanged != null) { PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName)); } } }

  • Entity Framework Multiple associations to a table causes error 3033

    - by taylonr
I'm using EF 3.5 SP1. I have 3 tables: Pendants PendantAccessories PartsData Basically #1 and 2 are used for product selection, so #1 has a "Number of Buttons" property and other options. #2 has fields like "Cable Type" etc. The third table contains property information for all of our parts, such as what plant it's manufactured in, it's weight etc. What I'm trying to do is set up an association between #1 and #3 and also between #2 and #3. The PK in all 3 tables is the PartNumber. I set it up between #2 and 3 by going into Mapping Details and adding a Maps to PartsData and mapping the columns. Everything worked good. I then tried the same thing between #1 and 3. However, now when I compile I get "Error 3033: Problem in Mapping Fragment starting at line 713: EntitySets 'pendants' and 'pendantAccessories' are both mapped to the table 'PartsData'. Their Primary Keys may collide." Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?

  • WPF data validation is overriding theme on the interface

    - by black sensei
Hello! Good People I built a WPF application and manage to get the validation working thanks to posts on stackoverflow. The only probblem i'm having is that it's overriding the theme i'm using. example the theme makes the textboxes look like a round rectangle but after setting the binding it look like the default textboxes. here is my code : <Button.Style> <Style TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Setter Property="IsEnabled" Value="false" /> <Style.Triggers> <!-- Require the controls to be valid in order to press OK --> <MultiDataTrigger> <MultiDataTrigger.Conditions> <Condition Binding="{Binding ElementName=txtEmail, Path=(Validation.HasError)}" Value="false" /> </MultiDataTrigger.Conditions> <Setter Property="IsEnabled" Value="true" /> </MultiDataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </Button.Style> code behind is : //Form loaded event code txtEmail.GetBindingExpression(TextBox.TextProperty).UpdateSource(); I've tried to look into the theme file but i was quickly lost.i thought i could use that file like a web css file. Now i've disabled the data binding because of that.Is there any work around for this? thanks for reading this
