• Microsoft Windows 64-bit application development best practises installation folder.

  My problem is that a vendor is providing me with a 64bit application (packed in a 64bit installer) but it goes and installs to the x86 (Program Files) Folder and he keeps telling me its OK but I want it to install in the Program Files directory; as the 32 bit version does that and scripts for the app are developed based on this assumption. Can someone direct me to the Microsoft recommended best practices for 64bit applications(links). Thanks in advance.

  I have a simple small question which someone who knows will be able to answer easily, I searched google but couldn't find the answer. There are many programs running at once on a computer, and my question is: when a program loads a DLL, does it actually load the DLL file or does it find the memory in which the DLL is already loaded? For example, is ws2_32.dll (winsock 2) loaded for every program that uses winsock, or is it loaded once and all programs that use it use the same memory addresses to call the functions?

I'm showing you the problem because it's difficult to explain: matched = ~/.tcsh glob(matched, 0, NULL, &pglob); glob put all matched files in a char ** and when I print it I have: case[0] = .tcshrc case[1] = I should have .tcshrc~ in case[1], but nothing =S, I've seen a flag "GLOB_TILDE" like this " glob(matched, GLOB_TILDE, NULL, &pglob); But it doesn't change anything!   Now that Microsoft has released VS 2010 I went to the product page here. To my amazement I found out that IntelliTrace(Historical Debugger) is supported only on the Ultimate Edition of VS 2010. This mean that you have to spend almost $4000 for renewal and almost $12000 for a new license. Does someone have any idea how can we change this decision? Especially make them add this feature to VS 2010 Professional Edition.

Here is what I have come up with so far: Formatters.Where(Function(f As DataModel.Formatter) _ Formatters.Select(Function(f2 As DataModel.Formatter) f2.Name.ToLower()).Contains(f.Name.ToLower())).Count > 1 However the above always returns true as long as their are more then 1 elements in the list, can someone please give me a hand with this?   I have an object variable Object test = Spinner.getSelectedItem(); -It gets the selected item from the Spinner (called spinner) and names the item 'test' I want to do an if statement related to that object e.g: 'if (test = "hello") { //do something }' But it appears not to work....
