  • Background image not showing up on IE8

    I've read through other questions but to no avail - I really can't work this out. The site is http://bit.ly/cqEO53 (hoping to not have any search links to this page so shortening URL). The gradient on the footer looks great in non IE browsers, but fails to show in IE 7,8 and the dev preview. Any ideas?

  • PHP's DOMXPath is stripping out my tags inside the matched text.

    I asked this question yesterday, and at the time it was just what I needed, but while working with some live data I discovered that is wasn't quite doing what I expected. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2571232/parse-html-with-phps-html-domdocument I gets the data from the HTML page, but then it also strips out all the HTML tags inside the captured block of text, which isn't what I want. (I might wan't to take some of the tags out, but not all, and this can be done later)

  • adding javascript events to freemind maps

    I have created freemind maps using the tool, right now in the process of integrating the map with my web application. I have some questions on the usage of freemind maps 1) Instead of using the freemindbrowser.html and the jar file to integrate a map with a website/ web app, can we do an export to Javascript from the tool and then integrate that exported file (.html) with the web site? 2) I want to be able to add javascript functions on events like node click, how do I do that?   • serialport or USB port?

    i am using this code:: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3033324/c-serialport-question/3033402#3033402 to check what port my USB phone is connected to. supposedly USB would be a virtual com, but this seems to be incorrect i used the above code to detect where my phone is and the output is just garbage. is there a way for me to get c# to speak to my usb port so that i can speak to the gsm phone connected to it?

  • Copying a byte buffer with JNI

    I've found plenty of tutorials / questions on Stackoverflow that deal with copying char arrays from C/JNI side into something like a byte[] in Java, but not the other way around. I am using a native C library which expects a byte array. I simply want to get data from a byte[] in java, into preferably an unsigned char[] in C. Long story short: What is the best way of copying data from a jBytearray in JNI? Is there any way to detect it's size?

I'm aware there other other questions pertaining to good books for short references of function names, or detailed beginner guides to these systems. I'm looking for something different. I want a book that I can either use as a quick but in-depth (decent write up, not a pocket reference guide) reference to common functions (JOINS, string manipulation, Regular Expressions, etc) while also providing a detailed inner workings explanation on the system itself.

  • Download file is blocked using WatiN even after modifying registry settings

    I'm doing an IE automation using WatiN. When a file to be downloaded is clicked, I get the following in the Internet Explorer Information bar: To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has blocked this site from downloading files to you computer. I added a registry key to, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\ then a REG_DWORD value named "http" with value==2 as given in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/972345/programmatically-add-trusted-sites-to-internet-explorer but still facing same issues. Can some1 advice on this....

  • jquery event handler- trigger function upon specific key and action

    Background story: when a user selects a portion of text in a text field with her mouse (mark it up manually), and subsequently hits "alt" key, a certain function would trigger. My questions are: How can I trigger a function when a user hits a key (in her keyboard)? How can I preserve a portion of text selected, and use it as a parameter for that function?
