  • How to monitor HTTP(S) traffic / URLs in Android?

    - by Pawel Krakowiak
I'm interested in whether there is a way to monitor HTTP(S) traffic on an Android phone? What I would like to do is to be able to retrieve all URLs that have been accessed on the phone's browser. I thought that there would be a browser intent for that, but have not seen anything - given I'm green, maybe I just did not know where to look? I followed the question and answer here, but it works only for hyperlinks which were clicked by the user, however I need to catch all URLs - including the ones typed in by the user. Basically I need to know about every single URL that was opened in the web browser. Can I register some kind of a handler with the browser? Is something like that feasible at all?

  • Text box creates gap when floated left in IE7

    - by Sixfoot Studio
    Hi, I've got a left rounded corner box - textbox - right rounded corner box which all make up part of a search box. All's well in FF, Chrome, IE8 but not IE7. I've checked it using the debug tool and and I have tried a number of options, none of which want to work at the moment, so I am hoping someone might know what this issue (bug) might be please? Here's a snippet of my code: <div class="roundBox4"> <img src="../App_Themes/MyChoice2010/Images/reality-box-top.gif" width="228" height="8" /><img src="../App_Themes/MyChoice2010/Images/reality-box-locate.gif" width="228" height="49" /> <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="Box4Content" runat="server"> </asp:ContentPlaceHolder> <div class="locateABroker"> <img src="../App_Themes/MyChoice2010/Images/locate-broker-left.gif" class="locateBrokerLeft" height="19" width="3" /><asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" CssClass="locateBrokerCenter" runat="server"></asp:TextBox><img src="../App_Themes/MyChoice2010/Images/locate-broker-right.gif" height="19" width="3" class="locateBrokerRight" /> <a href="" class="locateBrokerSubmit">Submit</a><img src="../App_Themes/MyChoice2010/Images/box-arrow.gif" class="linkArrow" width="8" height="14" /> </div>

Please see this flyout menu: http://www.caseen.com/store.html. It looks amazing in both Firefox and Chrome, but not in IE9! Trying to see what is going on =(. • small javascript problem

    Hi, I have this little function that opens modal window type thing. The problem is that it doesnt work on IE. All other browser its fine, but on IE, nothing happends: function showOverlayBox() { if( isOpen == false ) return; $('#full').css({ display:'block', left: ( $(window).width() - $('#full').width() )/2, top: ( $(window).height() - $('#full').height() )/2, position:'absolute' }); $('.BgCover').css({ display:'block', width: $(window).width(), height: $(window).height() }); } function doOverlayOpen() { isOpen = true; showOverlayBox(); $('.BgCover').css({opacity:0}).animate( {opacity:0.8} ); return false; } function doOverlayClose() { $('#full').css( 'display', 'none' ); $('.BgCover').animate( {opacity:0}, null, null, function() { $(this).hide(); } ); } Maybe something to do with isOpen == false?

  • Storing expression references to data base

    - by Marcus
I have standard arithmetic expressions sotred as strings eg. "WIDTH * 2 + HEIGHT * 2" In this example WIDTH and HEIGHT references other objects in my system and the literals WIDTH and HEIGHT refers to a property (Name) on those objects. The problem I'm having is when the Name property on an expression object changes the expression won't match anymore. One solution I came up with is to instead of storing "WIDTH * 2 + HEIGHT * 2" i store "{ID_OF_WIDTH} * 2 + {ID_OF_HEIGHT} * 2" And let my parser be able to parse this new syntax and implement an interface or such on referenced objects IExpressionReference { string IdentifierName { get; } } Anyone have a better/alternative solution to my problem?

  • Keyboard focus being stolen by Flash

    - by NewUser
Performing a search, I noticed several questions dedicated to how to steal/trap the keyboard focus of the visitor. Considering this site is dedicated to programming that's not suprising. I was wondering if anyone can advise me on how to prevent this type of behavior. Losing keyboard focus to flash basically removes my browser's functionality until I use the mouse to click elsewhere (I use Mozilla Firefox). Anyone know of some kind of plugin or greasemonkey script that will prevent my keyboard focus from being stolen? Normal browser "shortcuts" are rendered useless by having to use the mouse to return keyboard focus to the browser. Edit: Reply to the post below, I do have flashblock / noscript and some other things. My issue is flash that I want to see/interact with stealing my focus. Basically looking for something I can toggle that will prevent flash from getting keyboard focus or a way to force my firefox keyboard commands to the browser

  • Firefox/vista not showing div tag

    - by flavour404
Hi, I have a div tag which should be displayed at the bottom of a page given a set of circumstances. On my machine XP/IE, chrome, firefox, opera (all latest versions) the div shows up fine. But on my bosses machine, running vista with Firefox 3.6 for some reason the div tag is not showing up. However, if i go to another machine with vista and firefox the div tag shows up fine. My question is, what could have been set in firefox that would cause this div tag to now be displayed. It is there, if you resize the window then the tag flickers into view and then disappears again... <div id="savePane" style="position:absolute;left:0px;top:457px;width:100%;height:40px;border-top:#EFECDC 1px solid;padding:5px; visibility:visible;"> <table width="100%"> <tr> <td width="130" align="left"> Ad Description: </td> <td align="left"> <input type="text" id="adDescription" style="width: 270px" onfocus="skipcycle=true;loadThumbnail(<%=AdToSaveID%>);" onblur="skipcycle=false;"> </td> <td align="right"> <% 'onblur='skipcycle=false' onfocus='skipcycle=true' is needed to do not focus on SaveToFolder window when user enter data to that window but focus on that input box instead %> <input type="button" onclick="saveItemToSelectedFolder('<%=AdToSaveID%>', '<%=AdNumber%>', '<%=Sequencer%>', '<%=PageNumber%>', '<%=Section%>', '<%=Zone%>', '<%=RunDate%>', '<%=PublicationID%>')" value="Save" style="width: 70px; margin-right: 10px" /> </td> </tr> </table> Thanks, Ron.

  • TileGroup does not fill the container

    - by Luo Yong
I put a TileGroup in a BorderContainer and set the width to 100%, but the content in the TileGroup did not fill the parent container, it leaves a big chunk of blank on the right part. The code is: <s:BorderContainer width="100%" height="100%"> <s:TileGroup width="100%" requestedColumnCount="2"> <s:Button> button1 </s:Button> <s:Button> button2 </s:Button> <s:Button> button3 </s:Button> </s:TileGroup> </s:BorderContainer> and the result is like this: http://i.minus.com/iN39P7Us4cBm1.png The width is already set to 100% but it does not work. Is there any way to make the TileGroup fill the container like GridLayout does in Java swing? http://www.java2s.com/Code/JavaImages/GridLayoutPane.PNG Thank you very much.

  • Why aren't my objects sorting with sortedArrayUsingDescriptors?

    - by clozach
I expected the code below to return the objects in imageSet as a sorted array. Instead, there's no difference in the ordering before and after. NSSortDescriptor *descriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"imageID" ascending:YES]; NSSet *imageSet = collection.images; for (CBImage *image in imageSet) { NSLog(@"imageID in Set: %@",image.imageID); } NSArray *imageArray = [[imageSet allObjects] sortedArrayUsingDescriptors:(descriptor, nil)]; [descriptor release]; for (CBImage *image in imageArray) { NSLog(@"imageID in Array: %@",image.imageID); } Fwiw, CBImage is defined in my core data model. I don't know why sorting on managed objects would work any differently than on "regular" objects, but maybe it matters. As proof that @"imageID" should work as the key for the descriptor, here's what the two log loops above output for one of the sets I'm iterating through: 2010-05-05 00:49:52.876 Cover Browser[38678:207] imageID in Array: 360339 2010-05-05 00:49:52.876 Cover Browser[38678:207] imageID in Array: 360337 2010-05-05 00:49:52.877 Cover Browser[38678:207] imageID in Array: 360338 2010-05-05 00:49:52.878 Cover Browser[38678:207] imageID in Array: 360336 2010-05-05 00:49:52.879 Cover Browser[38678:207] imageID in Array: 360335 ... For extra credit, I'd love to get a general solution to troubleshooting NSSortDescriptor troubles (esp. if it also applies to troubleshooting NSPredicate). The functionality of these things seems totally opaque to me and consequently debugging takes forever.

  • how to target css to iPad but exclude Safari 4 desktop using a media query?

    - by miriam835work
I am trying to use a media rule to target css to iPad only. I want to exclude iPhone/iPod and desktop browsers. I would like to to also exclude other mobile devices if possible. I have used <style type="text/css" media="only screen and (min-device-width: 768px) and (max-device-width: 1024px)"> but just found out that desktop Safari 4 reads it. I have tried variations with "481px" instead of "768px" and another that adds an orientation to that: <style type="text/css" media="only screen and (min-device-width: 481px) and (max-device-width: 1024px) and (orientation:portrait)"> but not luck. (Later we will be sniffing user-agent strings for iPad, but for now that solution won't work.) Thanks!

  • Sanity check on this idea for an Image Viewer in a web app

    - by Charlie Flowers
I have an approach in mind for an image viewer in a web app, and want to get a sanity check and any thoughts you stackoverflowers might have. Here's the whirlwind nutshell summary: I'm working on an ASP.NET MVC application that will run in my company's retail stores. Even though it is a web application, we own the store machines and have control over them. We have a "windows agent" running on the store machine which we can talk to via http post (it is a WCF service, and our web app has permission to talk to it from the browser). One of the web pages needs to be an "image viewer" page with some common things like Rotate & Zoom. Now, there are some WebForms controls that offer Rotate and Zoom. However, they take up server resources and generate a good bit of traffic between the server and the browser. For example, the Rotate function would cause an ajax call to the server, which would then generate a new image written to a .NET Canvas object, which would then be written to a file on the server, which would then be returned from the ajax call and refreshed inside the browser. Normally, that's a pretty good way of doing things. But in our case, we have code running on the store machine that we can communicate with. This leads me to consider the following approach: When the user asks to view an image, we tell our "windows agent" to download it from our image server to the store machine. We then redirect our browser to our image viewer page, which will pull the image from the local file we just wrote to the store machine. When the user clicks "Rotate", we cause JavaScript code in the browser to call our "windows agent" software, asking it to perform the "Rotate" function. The "windows agent" does the rotation using the same kind of imaging control that would formerly have been used on the server, but it does so now on the store machine. Javascript in the browser then refreshes the image on the page to show the newly rotated image. Zoom and similar features would be implemented the same way. This seems to be much more efficient, scalable, and responsive for the end-users. However, I've never heard of anything like it being done, mostly because it's rare to have this combination of a web app plus a "windows agent" on the client machine. What do you think? Feasible? Reasonable? Any pitfalls I overlooked or improvements / suggestions you can see? Has anyone done anything like this who would like to offer the wisdom of experience? Thanks!

  • Resizing uploaded files in django using PIL

    - by Nikunj
I am using PIL to resize an uploaded file using this method: def resize_uploaded_image(buf): imagefile = StringIO.StringIO(buf.read()) imageImage = Image.open(imagefile) (width, height) = imageImage.size (width, height) = scale_dimensions(width, height, longest_side=240) resizedImage = imageImage.resize((width, height)) return resizedImage I then use this method to get the resizedImage in my main view method: image = request.FILES['avatar'] resizedImage = resize_uploaded_image(image) content = django.core.files.File(resizedImage) acc = Account.objects.get(account=request.user) acc.avatar.save(image.name, content) However, this gives me the 'read' error. Trace: Exception Type: AttributeError at /myapp/editAvatar Exception Value: read Any idea how to fix this? I have been at it for hours! Thanks! Nikunj

  • .NET Graphics.ScaleTransform converts print job to bitmap. Any other way to scale text?

    - by Philip Dunaway
I'm using Graphics.ScaleTransform to stretch lines of text so they fit the width of the page, and then printing that page. However, this converts the print job to a bitmap - for a print with many pages this causes the size of the print job to rise to obscene proportions, and slows down printing immensely. If I don't scale like this, the print job remains very small as it is just sending text print commands to the printer. My question is, is there any way other than using Graphics.ScaleTransform to stretch the width of the text? Sample code to demonstrate this is below (would be called with Print.Test(True) and Print.Test(False) to show the effects of scaling on print job): Imports System.Drawing Imports System.Drawing.Printing Imports System.Drawing.Imaging Public Class Print Dim FixedFont As Font Dim Area As RectangleF Dim CharHeight As Double Dim CharWidth As Double Dim Scale As Boolean Const CharsAcross = 80 Const CharsDown = 66 Const TestString = "!""#$%&'()*+,-./0123456789:;<=>?@ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ[\]^_`abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz{|}~" Private Sub PagePrinter(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As PrintPageEventArgs) Dim G As Graphics = e.Graphics If Scale Then Dim ws = Area.Width / G.MeasureString(Space(CharsAcross).Replace(" ", "X"), FixedFont).Width G.ScaleTransform(ws, 1) End If For CurrentLine = 1 To CharsDown G.DrawString(Mid(TestString & TestString & TestString, CurrentLine, CharsAcross), FixedFont, Brushes.Black, 0, Convert.ToSingle(CharHeight * (CurrentLine - 1))) Next e.HasMorePages = False End Sub Public Shared Sub Test(ByVal Scale As Boolean) Dim OutputDocument As New PrintDocument With OutputDocument Dim DP As New Print .PrintController = New StandardPrintController .DefaultPageSettings.Landscape = False DP.Area = .DefaultPageSettings.PrintableArea DP.CharHeight = DP.Area.Height / CharsDown DP.CharWidth = DP.Area.Width / CharsAcross DP.Scale = Scale DP.FixedFont = New Font("Courier New", DP.CharHeight / 100, FontStyle.Regular, GraphicsUnit.Inch) .DocumentName = "Test print (with" & IIf(Scale, "", "out") & " scaling)" AddHandler .PrintPage, AddressOf DP.PagePrinter .Print() End With End Sub End Class

  • How do I correctly decode unicode parameters passed to a servlet

    - by Grant Wagner
Suppose I have: <a href="http://www.yahoo.com/" target="_yahoo" title="Yahoo!&#8482;" onclick="return gateway(this);">Yahoo!</a> <script type="text/javascript"> function gateway(lnk) { window.open(SERVLET + '?external_link=' + encodeURIComponent(lnk.href) + '&external_target=' + encodeURIComponent(lnk.target) + '&external_title=' + encodeURIComponent(lnk.title)); return false; } </script> I have confirmed external_title gets encoded as Yahoo!%E2%84%A2 and passed to SERVLET. If in SERVLET I do: Writer writer = response.getWriter(); writer.write(request.getParameter("external_title")); I get Yahoo!â„¢ in the browser. If I manually switch the browser character encoding to UTF-8, it changes to Yahoo!TM (which is what I want). So I figured the encoding I was sending to the browser was wrong (it was Content-type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1). I changed SERVLET to: response.setContentType("text/html; charset=utf-8"); Writer writer = response.getWriter(); writer.write(request.getParameter("external_title")); Now the browser character encoding is UTF-8, but it outputs Yahoo!â?¢ and I can't get the browser to render the correct character at all. My question is: is there some combination of Content-type and/or new String(request.getParameter("external_title").getBytes(), "UTF-8"); and/or something else that will result in Yahoo!TM appearing in the SERVLET output?
