I need to disable check-in operation for several projects in my solution. I need it to safe myself from uploading changes to read-only projects. Does this option exist for Team Explorer?
I have to compare a class object against a list of pre defined classes. Is it safe to use == or should I use equals()?
if (klass == KlassA.class) {
} else if (klass == KlassB.class) {
} else if (klass == KlassC.class) {
} else {
}
Note: I cannot use instanceof, I don't have an object, I just have the class object. I (mis)use it like an enum in this situation!
Thanks!
Using Scala 2.8 RC1 or newer, what is the best (easiest and/or most direct) method to "peek" at the waiting messages in an actor's mailbox (from within the same actor's act() method) in order to examine what is in the queue, without having to react/receive the messages and/or disturb the current contents of the mailbox in any way.
The purpose of this is so that an actor may determine if it is safe to process a request to exit by first determining if any of the remaining mailbox messages are ones that must be processed, instead of just dropped by stopping the actor immediately.
I am using a bit of JavaScript to show/hide sections of a site when a tab is clicked. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way I can link back to the page and have a certain tab open based on that link.
Here is the JS:
var ids=new Array('section1','section2','section3','section4');
function switchid(id, el){
hideallids();
showdiv(id);
var li = el.parentNode.parentNode.childNodes[0];
while (li) {
if (!li.tagName || li.tagName.toLowerCase() != "li")
li = li.nextSibling; // skip the text node
if (li) {
li.className = "";
li = li.nextSibling;
}
}
el.parentNode.className = "active";
}
function hideallids(){
//loop through the array and hide each element by id
for (var i=0;i<ids.length;i++){
hidediv(ids[i]);
}
}
function hidediv(id) {
//safe function to hide an element with a specified id
document.getElementById(id).style.display = 'none';
}
function showdiv(id) {
//safe function to show an element with a specified id
document.getElementById(id).style.display = 'block';
}
And the HTML
<ul>
<li class="active"><a onclick="switchid('section1', this);return false;">One</a></li>
<li><a onclick="switchid('section2', this);return false;">Two</a></li>
<li><a onclick="switchid('section3', this);return false;">Three</a></li>
<li><a onclick="switchid('section4', this);return false;">Four</a></li>
</ul>
<div id="section1" style="display:block;">
<div id="section2" style="display:none;">
<div id="section3" style="display:none;">
<div id="section4" style="display:none;">
I haven't been able to come up with a way to link back to a specific section. Is it even possible with this method?
Thanks!
Question in the title.
I'd like to avoid recompiling since the source code I'm modifying is third party and I'd like to use the original binaries where possible, and replace only the assembly which contains the class I modified. But I'm not sure if this is a safe thing to do. In C++ for example this is definitely a bad idea.
Hi,
I need to construct an if statement from the data coming from the client as below:
conditions: condition1, condition2, condition3, condition4
logical operators: lo1, lo2, lo3 (Possible values: "and" "or")
Eg.
if condition1 lo1 condition2 lo3 condition4:
# Do something
I can think of eval/exec but not sure how safe they are! Any better approach or alternative?
Appreciate your responses :)
PS: Client-side: Flex, Server-side: Python, over internet
Thanks
When you sign up to google analytics it instructs you to use a javascript snippet on every page you want to track. This code includes an API key, which is visible to everyone who views your source code.
How does it guarantees that the request is coming from the real site, and not from a third-party who wants to mess with your statistics? Does it check the HTTP Referer header? Even that is not safe, as it can be forged.
Hi,
On the MSDN, I have found following:
public event EventHandler<MyEventArgs> SampleEvent;
public void DemoEvent(string val)
{
// Copy to a temporary variable to be thread-safe.
EventHandler<MyEventArgs> temp = SampleEvent;
if (temp != null)
temp(this, new MyEventArgs(val));
}
I do not understand, "copy to temporary variable", isnt it reference type?
PHP's str_replace() was intended only for ANSI strings and as such can mangle UTF-8 strings. However, given that it's binary-safe would it have a problem if it was only given valid UTF-8 strings as arguments?
Edit: I'm not looking for a replacement function, I would just like to know if this hypothesis is correct.
I'm using the new print from Python 3.x and I observed that the following code does not compile due to the end=' '.
from __future__ import print_function
import sys
if sys.hexversion < 0x02060000:
raise Exception("py too old")
...
print("x",end=" ") # fails to compile with py24
How can I continue using the new syntax but make the script fails nicely? Is it mandatory to call another script and use only safe syntax in this one?
I guess, DAO is threadsafe, does not use any class members.
So can it be used without any problem as a private field of a Servlet ? We need only one copy, and
multiple threads can access it simultaneously, so why bother creating a local variable, right?
will parent process and child process in deadlock if parent is using resource and child will also get same resource ? what if parent contains two threads ? will child also get 2 threads ? how can fork will be threadsafe ?
LGPL seems to be targeted towards software modules.
Is it safe to use an image licensed under LGPL in commercial print media?
For example, as an image on a software box cover to be sold in stores that contains a CD.
SEVERE: IOException while loading persisted sessions: java.io.WriteAbortedException: writi
ng aborted; java.io.NotSerializableException:
That means this object cannot be persisted on hard disk.
Does it imply that it's not safe to keep in Session objects that do not implement "Serializable"?
I haven't heard that there are limitations on saving non-serializable objects in Session object.
It simply means that Tomcat will always keep them in memory, right?

i got this SQL query where post_title taken from $_GET
$sql = "SELECT ID FROM $wpdb-posts WHERE $wpdb-posts.post_title = '5-desain-web-colourful'";
What is the best way to sanitize this and make it more safe ?
I have Oracle 10g installed on Windows in C:\oracle. If I stop all Oracle services, is it safe to backup by just copying the entire directory (e.g., to C:\oracle_bak), or am I significantly better off using expdp?
Pointers to docs/websites very welcome, I wasn't able to Google up anything relevant.
In how many ways we can give color info in X/HTML, css?
I know some
Hex
color name
rgba
is there any other method?
and which method is preferred to use and which not? Please give explanation.
And what is the means of web-safe colors?
I am reading the Head First PHP/Mysql book and they say to store both the user's username, email into cookies and sessions. Is it safe to assume that everyone nowadays accepts cookies? Or should I store both in sessions and cookies?
I am not storing any sensitive data in cookies such as password, etc.
foreach(var someDisposableObject in listOfDisposableObjects)
{
//some code
someDisposableObject.Dispose(); //current code contains something like this.
}
Is there safe way, like a using clause to use in this scenario?
I understood,normally generics is for compile time safe and allow us to keep strongly typed collection.Then how do generic allow us to store anonymous types like
List<object> TestList = new List<object>();
TestList.Add(new { id = 7, Name = "JonSkeet" });
TestList.Add(new { id = 11, Name = "Marc Gravell" });
TestList.Add(new { id = 31, Name = "Jason" });
My web-app has to deliver db-generated content by email. The HTML need not include javascript but _does have to include images and CSS.
It's a safe bet that most users will be viewing this in Outlook. Are general guidelines different for html destined for email vs. IE?
I'm moving my application from 3.x to 4.x as I prepare for the app store and found that I need to have 2 copies of all my custom pngs - my question is how can I determine what img to show and when. Example - how do I know to show the Find.png vs the [email protected]
Is it "safe" or "correct" to look for 4.x specific apis or does the iphone have a way to determine what platform you are on at runtime?
Thank you in advance
What do people think is the best JSF framework or library for a saving state longer than request scope (but w/o using session scope) that is backbutton/new window safe -- i.e. you have a "wizard"/multi-page form.
For example, MyFaces has the 'SaveState' tag (http://bit.ly/8QHmX5) that allows you to maintain state across pages by saving state in the view's component tree. Any comments on SaveState (pros/cons) or suggestions for any better framework or library for this capability?
