  • How to distribute the chance to display each SWF evenly among banner collection?

    Hi all: I am working on The ausdcf.org to try adding several banner ads in swf format to the top. Everything starts to work, but I've got several questions that need your help: The client chose not to go with Google AdManager, but prefer a "minimal approach" to do this task. What I am trying to do is sort of "mimicking" the way Google AdManager does for banners, that is, to split the chance of each particular swf to be shown to the visitor evenly among the banner collection. Definitely I can add some jQuery code to do this from client-side, a random number generator and if-else statement would work - just $.load() it! However, what if I'd like to make sure those disabled Javascript (is there any now btw?) still be able to see different swfs in each visit. Any suggestion on how to approach this?   • hide XML element from appearing in browser

    HI, I have a website which I am setting up. However, I want the first page (Home) not to have any sub menu. When I change the value of true to false all the other pages where I want the drop down to appear also disappear. I want other pages to have sub menu but not the home page. I have tried to change the xml path etc, but nothing seems to work. Can somebody please advise on this. I am new to xml and finding this very challenging. I have uploaded the config.xml and the layout xml's.   • Actionscript 3.0 Get all instances of a class?

    I got a ton of movieclips in a class. Is there a more efficient way to apply a function to every instance in the class other than this? var textArray:Array = [ interludes.interludeIntro.interludeBegin1, interludes.interludeIntro.interludeBegin2, interludes.interludeIntro.interludeBegin3, interludes.interludeIntro.interludeBegin4, interludes.interludeIntro.interludeBegin5, interludes.interludeIntro.interludeBegin6, interludes.interludeIntro.interludeBegin7, //... ... ... interludes.interludeIntro.interludeBegin15 ]; for each (var interludeText:MovieClip in interludeBeginText) { interludeText.alpha = 0 //clear all text first } Also for some reason this doesn't work: interludes.interludeIntro.alpha = 0; It permanently turns that class invisible, even if I try to make specific instances visible later with: interludes.interludeIntro.interludeBegin1.alpha = 1; I have NO idea why the above doesn't work. I want to turn every single instance in the class interludeIntro invisible, but I want to turn specific instances visible later. (btw I have no idea how to insert code on this website, pressing "code" doesn't do anything, so pardon the bad formatting)

We load this SWF at the beginning with the Loader class but then the client will access a very few of them at that moment.   • Activating a button underneath the mouse: how do you capture the OVER event?

    Observed behavior: I have a page of UI sliding onto the screen. On slide complete, activate buttons. If mouse already over a button, the rollover does not happen (since MOUSE_OVER hasn't technically occurred) Desired behavior: 1, 2 the same, but on 3, I see my rollover. Is there any way to easily do this, aside from something brute-force, like tracking the mouse and comparing its position against all buttons dims? Thanks!

    Hi, Is it feasible to play a number of FLV files at the same time on one SWF? Basically I have a brief to create a video banner with a number of FLVs of people playing at the same time but starting at different points in the videos. My concerns are with loading times, memory consumption and the starting of each FLV at a different point and looping it. The FLVs will be stored on a server and pseudo-streamed.
