  • How to run Android-x86 project's ISO in VirtualBox with ethernet?

    I managed to find a way just days ago, but I had to leave my other PC and now I have no clue how to get it working again. Basically you have to get the image, then install it in a VirtualBox guest. Now the problem is ... when you launch your VM, there is no internet connection. No with NAT or Bridged. Tried all the network cards too. Since internet connection is crucial for Android development, I have to get this thing working. (As I said, I managed to fix it once.) I'm using: - The 4.0 RC1 images from Android-x86 - VirtualBox - Eclipse 4.2 Juno with the latest Android ADT - Android SDK v18 - upgraded to 19 via the Package manager. Now I seen a lot of different builds on the net, about different Android builds for VirtualBox. I have checked Buildroid for example, but there is no network connection. I have imported the virtual machine just as the howto said. The extension package is also installed and it's up to date.

  • What is the best way to downscale mp4 video while keeping it as sharp as possible?

    I've got an .mp4 file that's currently 830x1100 (it's a screencast) that I need to resize down to 114x150. I've been experimenting for hours with ffmpeg settings and nothing comes out looking nice and sharp. The original file looks decent, and I can't figure out why the downscaling makes it look so blurry. Unfortunately I can't share the video because it contains a walkthrough for software that hasn't yet been released.

Then tried this: apt-get install dbus-1 But I got this: E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable) E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?     I'd like to play bluray discs in my laptop. I found the official documentation, and there it's explained that one should use mplayer and ffmpeg. Looking at the repositories, there exist two different mplayer packages (in conflict with each other) mplayer mplayer2 Any ideas with of them should I install? On the other hand the official documentation seems to be out of date since no mention to Ubuntu after 9.04 is done. Does the DumpHD package from the repositories work? Finally, Where could the keydb.cfg keys be found? I'm open to suggestions, specially of people who had done the job of making it work. Cheers

  • Comparison between these video cards?

    Currently I have a GeForce 8600GT as a video card. I started playing EVE online and it is not that smooth (Apart from the fact that my Windows 7 is starting to become slow so it needs a format). Now I have these 3 video cards on my mind: 1GB Gainward GF GT240 PCI-Express Video Card 1GB Gainward GF9800GT PCI-Express Video Card 1GB Gainward GF GT240-GS PCI-Express Video Card I tried comparing them from nvidia's site: HelpMeChoose but the GT240-GS is not available for comparison. However, when I tried comparing the GT240 with the 9800GT, the latter was the winner. You must keep in consideration that the cheapest one is the GT2400. The 9800GT is in the middle, and the one which is not available for comparison, the GT240-GS is the most expensive one (about 6 euros more than the 9800GT). Is the GT240-GS the best video card from these? Thanks in advance for your responses.

    Are there any windows applications that serve video from a server's local disk to h264 flash viewable through the browser on your local network? I'm thinking that on machine1, I'd have a folder with a ton of videos. This program would serve the videos on a website visible at http://machine1/myvids and that it would serve them in h264 and do the h264 conversion on the fly using the GPU. I know it's a lofty set of reqs but I'm wondering if anything like this is out there.
