  • Messenger -"Register" an instance and not a type with the MVVM Light Toolkit?

    Hello i'm consfused using the Messenger class of MVVM Light. I have a ProductsViewModel that can get initialized a number of times. In the constructor of ProductsViewModel I have this code: Messenger.Default.Register(this, n = MessageBox.Show(n.Test)); The problem is, if I have 2 instances of ProductsViewModel, then Messenger gets registered twice. Is is bad to Register the Messenger in a constructor? Hope this makes sense!

    Rather than just writing a new function called import() i'd like to know if there's a better solution. Otherwise require_once would be included in the scope of import() only, which is bad for any "global" variable there. My import() function would work differently than require_once, but serves the same purpose (enhanced usability).

  • How can I switch off exception handling in MSVC?

    Does anybody know how to switch off exception handling option in MSVC? I tried to set the option 'Enable C++ exceptions' to 'NO' and I got warning: warning C4530: C++ exception handler used, but unwind semantics are not enabled. Specify /EHsc I would like to switch off the exception handler, too, but I don't know how. In my application I basically need more speer than stability, therefore I chose switching off the exception handling. I do not have any try/catch blocks, but I do use STL. When I switch the option 'Enable C++ exceptions' to 'NO' is there any way how to get rid of those warnings?

    Um - I feel like an idiot, but.... ruby -e '3+5' Outputs nothing (Windows 7, Ruby 1.8.7, Cygwin or Git Bash). What am I missing? Extra credit - will this also allow the extra cool bundle (stolen from TextMate) Execute and Update # = markers to work properly? EDIT Ok that worked, and I'll accept the answer, but e-texteditor still doesn't work with that really cool bundle. Too bad.

  • Im having trouble getting SWFUplader to play ball in my codeigniter application

    I have this peice of code in my handler.js, I'm getting the correct serverData value throught ajax, ( Well it's echoed correctly un the alert box) but no matter what, i just cant seem to enter either of the 'if' blocks. I have double checked the type and it is a string.   • Does anyone know of a vim plugin or script to convert special characters to their corresponding HTML

    I develop websites for corporate clients, so we see the ®, ™, etc. chars a whole lot. Sometimes I paste in huge blocks of copy, which might even contain pretty quotes (“ ”) or other strange characters from word processors. So, my question is this: Does anyone know of a vim plugin or script that can, in one fell swoop, convert all these characters to html entities? I think this covers all the bases of the entities it would be nice to have: http://web.forret.com/tools/charmap.asp So, for the characters above, they would be replaced with &reg;, &trade;, &ldquo;, &rdquo;, etc. I tried the htmlspecialchars vimball (http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=2377), but no dice. It only performs its replacement like the PHP htmlsepcialchars function, replacing html-conflicting characters, and doesn't cover any additional special characters.

    Hi If I have to choose between static method and creating an instance and use instance method, I will choose static methods always. but what is the detailed overhead of creating an instance? for example I saw a DAL which can be done with static classes but they choose to make it instance now in the BLL at every single call they call something like. new Customer().GetData(); how far this can be bad?     Hi all, I just set up Mercurial on our main webserver, hosting repositories via hgwebdir.cgi. The problem I'm having now is when I run hg push from my local machine to the server's repository, it takes an absolutely ridiculous amount of time to push a very small directory, with only a single changeset. Is it possible that I've set something up wrong? I keep getting HTTP Error 502: Bad Gateway. Thanks!

I have something like this: $('#my_form').submit(function() { var serialized = $(this).formSerialize(); var sUrl = "xxx"; $.ajax({ url: sUrl, type: "POST", data: serialized, success: function(data) { $(".main_container").html(data); } }) return false; // THIS return statment blocks sending file content }); When I remove return false statement everything is okey, server side gets the file content and etc, but when it's there (i monitor with firebug) that this posting sends only file name. What can be wrong? P.S. - I need this return false statement, because I want to manipulate return data myself.

    I have text in the follwing format: ERR_OUT_OF_MEM, "ERR OUT OF MEM" ERR_SOMETHING_BAD, "ERR SOMETHING BAD" I want to replace all spaces in the text which are within quotes with underscores: ERR_OUT_OF_MEM, "ERR_OUT_OF_MEM" ERR_SOMETHING_BAD, "ERR_SOMETHING_BAD" The best regex I could come up with is: \("\w\+\)\@<= (there's a space at the end of that) but this only finds the first space in each quoted string, and I would need to repeat this multiple times to get the desired effect. Any way to do it in one shot? Thanks!

  • Merging list problem

    Sorry about the bad heading, but the question was not easy to compress into one sentence... I have two lists of contigs (list1 and list2). They contain mostly unique contigs, but with some overlap. I want to compare list1 and list2 and then create a list3 that contains all contigs in list1 minus those also present in list2. Is this possible with a simple cat/paste/grep/sort/uniq kind of batch command? Thanks!

There must be a simpler way? Thats why I thought of creating the Attribute to handle this
