  • Cannot Display Chinese Character in my PHP code

    - by Jun1st
    I want to display my Twitter Info in my blog. So I write some code to get it. the issue I got is that Chinese characters displayed as unknown code. Here is the test code. Could anyone take a look and help? Thanks <html> <title>Twitter Test</title> <body> <?php function mystique_objectToArray($object){ if(!is_object($object) && !is_array($object)) return $object; if(is_object($object)) $object = get_object_vars($object); return array_map('mystique_objectToArray', $object); } define( 'ABSPATH', dirname(dirname(__FILE__)) . '/' ); require_once('/home/jun1st/jun1stfeng.com/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php'); $snoopy = new Snoopy; $response = @$snoopy->fetch("http://twitter.com/users/show/jun1st.json"); if ($response) $userdata = json_decode($snoopy->results, true); else $error = true; $response = @$snoopy->fetch("http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/jun1st.json"); if ($response) $tweets = json_decode($snoopy->results, true); else $error = true; if(!$error): // for php < 5 (included JSON returns object) $userdata = mystique_objectToArray($userdata); $tweets = mystique_objectToArray($tweets); $twitdata = array(); $twitdata['user']['profile_image_url'] = $userdata['profile_image_url']; $twitdata['user']['name'] = $userdata['name']; $twitdata['user']['screen_name'] = $userdata['screen_name']; $twitdata['user']['followers_count'] = $userdata['followers_count']; $i = 0; foreach($tweets as $tweet): $twitdata['tweets'][$i]['text'] = $tweet['text']; $twitdata['tweets'][$i]['created_at'] = $tweet['created_at']; $twitdata['tweets'][$i]['id'] = $tweet['id']; $i++; endforeach; endif; // only show if the twitter data from the database is newer than 6 hours if(is_array($twitdata['tweets'])): ?> <div class="clear-block"> <div class="avatar"><img src="<?php echo $twitdata['user']['profile_image_url']; ?>" alt="<?php echo $twitdata['user']['name']; ?>" /></div> <div class="info"><a href="http://www.twitter.com/jun1st"><?php echo $twitdata['user']['name']; ?> </a><br /><span class="followers"> <?php printf(__("%s followers","mystique"),$twitdata['user']['followers_count']); ?></span></div> </div> <ul> <?php $i = 0; foreach($twitdata['tweets'] as $tweet): $pattern = '/\@(\w+)/'; $replace = '<a rel="nofollow" href="http://twitter.com/$1">@$1</a>'; $tweet['text'] = preg_replace($pattern, $replace , $tweet['text']); $tweet['text'] = make_clickable($tweet['text']); // remove +XXXX $tweettime = substr_replace($tweet['created_at'],'',strpos($tweet['created_at'],"+"),5); $link = "http://twitter.com/".$twitdata['user']['screen_name']."/statuses/".$tweet['id']; echo '<li><span class="entry">' . $tweet['text'] .'<a class="date" href="'.$link.'" rel="nofollow">'.$tweettime.'</a></span></li>'; $i++; if ($i == $twitcount) break; endforeach; ?> </ul> <? endif?> ?> </body> </html>

  • Tomcat/Hibernate Problem "SEVERE: Error listenerStart"

    - by JSteve
I downloaded working example of hibernate (with maven) and installed it on my tomcat, it worked. Then I created a new web project in MyEclipse, added hibernate support and moved all source files (no jar) to this new project and fixed package/paths wherever was necessary. My servlets are responding correctly but when I add "Listener" in web.xml, tomcat returns error "Error ListenerStart" on startup and my application doesn't start. I've carefully checked all packages, paths and classes, they look good. Error message is also not telling anything more except these two words Here is complete tomcat startup log: 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol init INFO: Initializing Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8810 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina load INFO: Initialization processed in 293 ms 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardService start INFO: Starting service Catalina 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngine start INFO: Starting Servlet Engine: Apache Tomcat/6.0.20 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start SEVERE: Error listenerStart 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start SEVERE: Context [/addressbook] startup failed due to previous errors 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol start INFO: Starting Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8810 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket init INFO: JK: ajp13 listening on /0.0.0.0:8009 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.jk.server.JkMain start INFO: Jk running ID=0 time=0/22 config=null 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina start INFO: Server startup in 446 ms My web.xml is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <web-app version="2.4" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd"> <listener> <listener-class>addressbook.util.SessionFactoryInitializer</listener-class> </listener> <filter> <filter-name>Session Interceptor</filter-name> <filter-class>addressbook.util.SessionInterceptor</filter-class> </filter> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>Session Interceptor</filter-name> <servlet-name>Country Manager</servlet-name> </filter-mapping> <servlet> <servlet-name>Country Manager</servlet-name> <servlet-class>addressbook.managers.CountryManagerServlet</servlet-class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>Country Manager</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/countrymanager</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> </web-app> Can somebody either help me figure out what I am doing wrong? or point to some resource where I may get some precise solution of my problem?

  • What are some popular Git layout strategies?

    - by CodexArcanum
A fellow developer recently showed me a blog post with a nice visual representation of a git layout. He implied that this particular strategy was gaining a lot of popularity, but numerous searches here and through the Google have yet to turn up the blog post. The gist of it was that you had a trunk for main development, and a "side-trunk" for immediate customer-driven bug fixes. Main development had a branch, which was merged to trunk periodically for major releases, and then you had feature branches. There was a lovely diagram that clearly showed all this. Since I'd like to learn git better, I'd love to have that diagram available as an aide. It'd also be useful as a visual for trying to convince coworkers to switch to git. Does anyone happen to know what I'm talking about and can provide a link?

  • Exchange 2010 periodically stops responding to SMTP events with error 421 4.4.1 Connection timed out

    - by Michael Shimmins
After some help diagnosing why Exchange 2010 Enterprise stops responding to SMTP events. I can't find a pattern to it. It doesn't appear to be an actual timeout, as the server responds immediately with the error. To reproduce it I telnet into the server on port 25 and issue a EHLO. The server immediately replies with the 421: 421 4.4.1 Connection timed out Once this starts happening I've found restarting the exchange box is the only reliable way to get it flowing again. Sometimes restarting the Transport service or the mailbox attendant service seems to fix it, but this could be coincidental as it often has no effect.

  • Branching and Merging Strategies

    - by benPearce
I have been tasked with coming up with a strategy for branching, merging and releasing over the next 6 months. The complication comes from the fact the we will be running multiple projects all with different code changes and different release dates but approximately the same development start dates. At present we are using VSS for code management, but are aware that it will probably cause some issues and will be migrating to TFS before new development starts. What strategies should I be employing and what things should I be considering before setting a plan down? Sorry if this is vague, feel free to ask questions and I will update with more information if required.

  • Like Html.RenderAction() but without reinstantiating the controller object

    - by Jørn Schou-Rode
I like to use the RenderAction extension method on the HtmlHelper object to render sidebars and the like in pages, as it allows me to keep the data access code for each such part in separate methods on the controller. Using an abstract controller base, I can define a default "sidebar strategy", which can then be refined by overriding the method in a concrete controller, when needed. The only "problem" I have with this approach, is that the RenderAction is built in a way where it always creates a news instance of the controller class, even when rendering actions from the controller already in action. Some of my controllers does some data lookup in their Initialize method, and using the RenderAction method in the view causes this to occur several times in the same request. Is there some alternative to RenderAction which will reuse the controller object if the action method to be invoked is on the same controller class as the "parent" action?

  • Hibernate: @UniqueConstraint with @ManyToOne field???

    - by Misha Koshelev
Dear All: Using the following code: @Entity @Table(uniqueConstraints=[@UniqueConstraint(columnNames=["account","name"])]) class Friend { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy=GenerationType.AUTO) public Long id @ManyToOne public Account account public String href public String name } I get the following error: org.hibernate.AnnotationException: Unable to create unique key constraint (account, name) on table Friend: account not found It seems this has to do with the @ManyToOne constraint, which I imagine actually creates a separate UniqueConstraint??? In any case, if I take this out, there is no complaint about the UniqueConstraint, but there is another error which makes me believe it must be left in. org.hibernate.MappingException: Could not determine type for: com.mksoft.fbautomate.domain.Account, at table: Friend, for columns: [org.hibernate.mapping.Column(account)] Any hints how I can create such a desired constraint (i.e., that each combination of account and name occurs only once???) Thank you! Misha

  • How can I stop my laptop display from flickering when I connect my TV?

    - by Lord Torgamus
I have a laptop with an HDMI output port running Vista, and an HDTV with HDMI input ports. The laptop is set to extend its desktop onto a second monitor. When I connect the computer to the TV with an HDMI cable, my laptop screen usually flickers rapidly. Most of the time it lasts for about 30 seconds, but sometimes it lasts for several minutes and once in a while it doesn't happen at all. It wouldn't be so bad except that the cursor moves back to the center of the laptop screen with each flicker, so I can't really do anything until the machine decides it's ready to calm down. I haven't been able to find any pattern at all for the causes or duration of the flickering. It doesn't seem to matter what programs the laptop is running when I connect it to the TV, whether I enable the extended display before or after I connect the TV or which HDMI port/cable I use. What could be causing this, and how can I make it go away?

  • Setting column length of a Long value with JPA annotations

    - by Gearóid
Hi, I'm performing a little database optimisation at the moment and would like to set the column lengths in my table through JPA. So far I have no problem setting the String (varchar) lengths using JPA as follows: @Column(unique=true, nullable=false, length=99) public String getEmail() { return email; } However, when I want to do the same for a column which is of type Long (bigint), it doesn't work. For example, if I write: @Id @Column(length=7) @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) public Long getId() { return id; } The column size is still set as the default of 20. Are we able to set these lengths in JPA or am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks, Gearoid.

  • Populating an association with children in factory_girl

    - by Craig Walker
I have a model Foo that has_many 'Bar'. I have a factory_girl factory for each of these objects. The factory for Bar has an association to Foo; it will instantiate a Foo when it creates the Bar. I'd like a Factory that creates a Foo that contains a Bar. Ideally this Bar would be created through the :bar factory, and respect the build strategy (create/build) used to create the Foo. I know I could just call the :bar factory and then grab the Foo reference from the new Bar. I'd like to avoid this; in my test case, the important object is Foo; calling the Bar factory seems a bit circuitous. Also, I can see the need for a Foo with multiple Bars. Is this possible in factory_girl? How do you define this relationship in the parent?

  • Binding scattered/overlapping images to a WPF Canvas

    - by bufferz
I am porting a GDI application over to WPF, where I displayed several dozen images onto Form, then drew polygons, circles, rectangles, etc over the top of these images using GDI Pens and Brushes. I'm starting to get the hang of WPF binding and would like to store all of these images and markup graphics in my ViewModel. My VM contains an ObservableCollection of my custom DrawingEntitys, DrawingEntity contains DependencyProperties for BitmapSource, Height, Width, CanvasTopLeftY, and CanvasTopLeftX, that I update frequently in the collection. I know my binding is working, I just can't figure out how to bind and draw this collection onto a Canvas. I've played around with ItemsControl and ItemsSource to death, too many different ways to list here. I can display the DrawingEntity.Bitmaps onto the canvas but Canvas.Top won't bind to CanvasTopLeftY in the DrawingEntity, everything is overlapped at 0,0. I think I'm missing an obvious strategy. Any ideas?

Now my code looks ugly (i think so): public QueryStringParser(string QueryString) { if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(QueryString)) { this._mode = Mode.First; } else if (QueryString.Contains(_FristFieldName) && !QueryString.Contains(_SecondFieldName)) { this._mode = Mode.Second; } else if (!QueryString.Contains(_FristFieldName) && QueryString.Contains(_SecondFieldName)) { this._mode = Mode.Third; } else { throw new ArgumentException("QueryString has wrong format"); } } There must'n't be both FieldNames in one QueryString. How to change this code to be mo readable.

  • How should objects be in a Java game.

    - by Gabriel A. Zorrilla
EDIT: i just deleted the entire post and reformulated the question to be more generic. I want to do a simple strategy game: map, units. Map: one class. Units: another class, self drawn. Simple questions: How does an unit should redraw itself on the map. A unit should be a JPanel or similar Swing component (just to be able to manage them as an entity with its own mousehandlers) or can be another thing, without neglecting the fact that it should be an autonomous object with its own action handlers and fields. Is this map-units model correct of a simple game that would help me to learn in a fun way Java and OOP fundamentals. Thats it!

  • ASP.NET High CPU Bringing Servers to their Knees

    - by user880954
Ok, our new build is having 100% cpu spikes on each server at random intervals. For long durations it make the site totally unresponsive - this will be at peak times as people in different countries log on to the site etc. We've looked at perfmom, memory profilers, CLR profiler, sql profilers, Red gate ants profiler, tried load testing in UAT - but cannot even reproduce the problem. This could mean only thousands of users hitting the live site causes it to happen. One pattern we did notice was that the new code - the broken build - actually uses noticably less threads. We are also using spring for IOC - does this have a bed reputation? To make things worse, we cannot deploy to live due to the business impact - so cannot narrow the problem down to subset of the new features we've added. We truly are destroyed - has anyone got any battle scars that may save us a few lives?

  • Sum of path products in DAG

    - by Jules
Suppose we have a DAG with edges labeled with numbers. Define the value of a path as the product of the labels. For each (source,sink)-pair I want to find the sum of the values of all the paths from source to sink. You can do this in polynomial time with dynamic programming, but there are still some choices that can be made in how you decompose the problem. In my case I have one DAG that has to be evaluated repeatedly with different labelings. My question is: for a given DAG, how can we pre-compute a good strategy for computing these values for different labelings repeatedly. It would be nice if there was an algorithm that finds an optimal way, for example a way that minimizes the number of multiplications. But perhaps this is too much to ask, I would be very happy with an algorithm that just gives a good decomposition.

  • CPU fan twitching phase leds blinking - computer won't boot

    - by SooX
I have a big problem that I got today. Yesterday computer was "on" normally, I went to sleep without shutting it down. When I woke up, I heard a strange sound and was unable to bring it up from hibernate. I unplugged the PSU. When I plugged the PSU back in, the sound came back. When I opened the case, I saw the fan "twitching" like it is about to start and fan LEDs were blinking. Also, motherboard LEDs were blinking in the same pattern - the first green one has more of luminosity then others. When I cut down the power with 0/1 button on PSU, the fans continue to make sounds like the machine is trying to boot before the capacitors run out and the power dies. Does anyone have a clue what to do? I tried disassembling everything but that doesn't work. I will try with friend's PSU later today.

  • What program is making this sound and how can I make it stop

    - by DrFredEdison
Some program is intermittently making this weird "chook ... chick" sound, no more than every 5 minutes, but sometimes hours or days between making it. There seems to be no pattern as to when it happens, but the sound is definitely coming from the speakers, and is always the same, so I'm pretty confident some piece of software I'm running is playing the sound. Today, I managed to record it, and I've posted it here: http://tristanhavelick.com/chook-chick.mp3 Short of closing my programs one by one, and seeing if the sound continues, are there any tricks for tracking down a problem like this? Is there any software that can trace what sounds come from what programs (something like tcpview with waveforms)? I am running windows xp.

  • IPsec Policy Agent flip-flopping demand start/auto start in Windows Server 2008?

    - by Steve Wortham
Looking through the event logs on my web server I noticed a strange pattern. The following events have been occurring over and over again, always back to back: The start type of the IPsec Policy Agent service was changed from demand start to auto start. The start type of the IPsec Policy Agent service was changed from auto start to demand start. Each one produces event id 7040 from the Service Control Manager. And sometimes this will happen 20 times in one minute. Any idea what would cause this? I've been trying to pinpoint an intermittent performance problem for the past several days and this is the most peculiar thing I've found so far. I'm running Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, and ASP.NET 3.5 w/ MVC 1.

  • Hibernate schema parameter doesn't work in @SequenceGenerator annotation

    - by tabdulin
I hav the following code: @Entity @Table(name = "my_table", schema = "my_schema") @SequenceGenerator(name = "my_table_id_seq", sequenceName = "my_table_id_seq", schema = "my_schema") public class MyClass { @Id @GeneratedValue(generator = "my_table_id_seq", strategy = GenerationType.SEQUENCE) private int id; } Database: Postgresql 8.4, Hibernate annotations 3.5.0-Final. When saving the object of MyClass it generates the following SQL query: select nextval('my_table_id_seq') So there is no schema prefix and therefore the sequence cannot be found. When I write the sequenceName like sequenceName = "my_schema.my_table_id_seq" everything works. Do I have misunderstandings for meaning of schema parameter or is it a bug? Any ideas how to make schema parameter working?

    - by domspurling
I need to quickly replace a listings website which has the following characteristics: smallish database (10,000 items, < 1GB) < 10% of the items updated/created/removed daily most common activity is searching the whole dataset, returning 1-1000 items traffic peaks at 1m page impressions per day Scaling strategy for the existing app has been to separate read-only and read/write activity. Multiple slave databases are used for searching and writes are done to a master, which update the slaves using MS SQL replication. Since read activity is more common than write, this has proved to be a cheap way to do database load balancing, without true clustering. I now need to replace the app - are there any C# open-source apps which scale as neatly as this?
