    Hi, In old DOS script, I can run an R script with the following syntax: Rterm.exe --quiet --slave --vanilla < "C:\some_script.R" However, Powershell seems to have reserved "<" for future expansion. I am wondering if there is a direct way to run R script within another powershell script. Thanks

  • BeanDefinition class removed in Spring 4?

    I am trying out the new Spring 4 release, and I found out that the BeanDefinition interface has been removed, if so what is the replacement class we should use in a scenario where we define a scope for a bean ? Prior to Spring release of 4 you could do this. @Bean @Scope(BeanDefinition.SCOPE_PROTOTYPE) class MyBean{ ... } EDIT As of Spring 4, can't you specify the spring bean scope in the @Scope Annotation, the only option given is to add a string and then the ProxyMode ?

  • Extension Methods - IsNull and IsNotNull, good or bad use?

    I like readability. So, I came up with an extension mothod a few minutes ago for the (x =! null) type syntax, called IsNotNull. Inversly, I also created a IsNull extension method, thus if(x == null) becomes if(x.IsNull()) and if(x != null) becomes if(x.IsNotNull()) However, I'm worried I might be abusing extension methods. Do you think that this is bad use of Extenion methods?

    I'm using wx.AUI and having a bit of a problem managing panes. Once you have created a new pane using AddPane(), what is the syntax to update or change the pane? I've seen the SetPane command but I can't find any examples. Can someone direct me to an example? Or perhaps it makes sense to use some command to delete the pane and create a new one?   • Great Circle & Rhumb line intersection

    I have a Latitude, Longitude, and a direction of travel in degrees true north. I would like to calculate if I will intersect a line defined by two more Lat/Lon points. I figure the two points defining the line would create my great circle and my location and azimuth would define my Rhumb line. I am only interested in intersections that will occur with a few hundred kilometers so I do not need every possible solution. I have no idea where to begin.

  • getting part of an image with javascript

    Hi all, i want to ask that, is it possible to show any part of image in img tag (with pixels) via Javascript. I mean, i'll prepare a big image (e.g. 32x320 pixels) and i'll define starting position (X,Y , e.g. 0,32) and width/height (e.g. 32,32), so script will show second (32x32 pixel) part of main image.. What I mean is that there seems to be a standard way to document code. php.net and api.jquery.com seem to document there code the a similar way. For example, the trim() description on php.net. string trim ( string $str [, string $charlist ] ) And likewise on jquery.com .animate( properties, [ duration ], [ easing ], [ callback ] ) Does anyone even know what this syntax is called?

  • IgnoreArguments including an Action<T>

    I'm probably missing something obvious here, so apologies in advance! Using Rhino Mocks, how do I set an expectation that a method taking an Action will be called, but I want to use IgnoreArguments. Obviously I can't specify null as that isn't an Action, and I dont want any meaningless code in the test. As I said, it's probably obvious by the syntax is eluding me at the moment!

I would like to be able to define a set called 'MenA' in which the type and division values are hardcoded, and the league id is taken from the initial rowset. 'MenA' =>array( 'columns' => array('leagueid','leaguetype','leaguedivision'), 'refTableClass' => 'Model_DbTable_League', 'refColumns' => array("id","I","A") ) Is this style of mapping possible ie hardcoding the values into the 'refColumns'. The second crazy idea i had was to pass the variable values in as part of the third param of the findDependentRowset() method. $menA = $league->findDependentRowset('Model_DbTable_LeagueSummary','MenA',array("I","A")); Any suggestions on how I might use the Zend DB Table Relationship mapping correctly to do this would be appreciated. I'm not interested in the plain, old and ugly $db-select(a,b,c)-where(..) style solution.

  • Error message when running a Sinatra application on Windows Vista.

    I was following a video tutorial by Adam Keys about how to make a URL shortener app in Sinatra. The code that is giving me problems is located here http://pastie.org/958644 So when I ran it I got this error: shortener.rb:12: syntax error, unexpected $undefined, expecting $end @@ home I typed it exactly as Adam said but this keeps happening. What could the issue be? By the way, I am running ruby 1.9.1p243 (2009-07-16 revision 24175) [i386-mingw32] on Windows Vista. Thanks, Adam
