  autoexp.dat does not seem to take affect in Visual Studio C++ 2005 debugger. I am not trying to add any custom rules. Just want commonly used stuff like stl::string, to display in a friendlier manner. Does anyone know. how I can accomplish this? Is this just question of specifying a path to the autoexp.dat file somewhere. The file is available under the Visual Studio installation directory.

  With named parameters like def f(x : Int = 1, y : Int = 2) = x * y your parameter names become part of the interface f(x=3) Now if you want to change the parameter names locally, you are forced to perserve the public name of the parameter: def f(x : Int = 1, y : Int = 2) = { val (a,b) = (x,y) a * b } If this a real problem? Is there a syntax to support this directly? Who do other languages handle this?

  I'm trying to use the replace function in JavaScript and have a question. strNewDdlVolCannRegion = strNewDdlVolCannRegion.replace(/_existing_0/gi, "existing" + "newCounter"); That works. But I need to have the "0" be a variable. I've tried: _ + myVariable +/gi and also tried _ + 'myVariable' + /gi Could someone lend a hand with the syntax for this, please. Thank you.

• Livevalidation clientside validation - can you control the position of the validation messages?

  I'm using LiveValidaion for my clientside validation http://livevalidation.com/ and DataAnnotations for my validation rules. This all works fine except that the clientside error messages are only ever displayed to the right of the element being validated. Is it possible to move this validation message below the element being validated? Or even better, group all messages in a div at the top/bottom of the page? I dont see anything in their docs or examples

• Is there a way to prevent a string of letters with no spaces from overflowing out of its correspondi

  The question is pretty straight forward, I have tried using a span with rules set to clear:both; and display:block;, at the bottom of each list entry where the text is being inserted in with no luck. I am not really sure what to do on this. I don't expect to many entries with long consecutive letter strings but for example if someone does lolololololol or ahaahahahhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaa for like 100 letters, it will overflow. If anyone can give me a pointer I would really appreciate it.

  Hi all, Quick question: How do I specify the number of characters in a split window? C-x-3 Splits my window into two windows evenly, but a subsequent split will split one of the windows in half. I'd like 3 equal sized windows. The documentation says that I should be able to specify the number of characters for the left buffer as a parameter, but I cant seem to get that to work.   This should seem simple enough, but can't figure it out. I was porting a project out of MonoDevelop and into VS2008, but I accidently created the project as VB.NET instead of C#. Now ReSharper and any syntax highlighting is throwing a fit because it's trying to validate it as VB. How do I tell it to treat it as a C# project without creating a whole new one?
