• Xen domain migration locking problem

  I am trying to live migrate a VM (domain) between two Xen servers. I have xen locking (xend-domain-lock = yes) configured with a ocfs2 shared storage between them. This locking is working fine. If I try to start up the VM on the secondary server it refuses to start (which is correct). The problem I am having is when trying to do live migration, it seems like it is trying to remove the lock twice. The first lock it removes is for "domain test", the second is for "migrating-test" which does not exist. Should their be a lock for this "migrating-test" VM? • Tomato/DD-WRT router to act as switch & only NAT some port

  BACKGROUND: I have a device that must use a real IP address. Currently, my ISP uses DHCP and I can have up to 4 real IP address assigned. However, the cable modem only have 1 ethernet port and it's connected to my router (running Tomato, but can run DD-wrt or other Openwrt if required). Question stems from how I can connect the additional device, requiring a real IP? EASY SOLUTION: would be to get a switch and connect to the CM, Router, and Device. But alas, I want to avoid this route, since: my wiring cabinet in my home is drawing lots of power and heat already Device will be unprotected by any firewall unable to monitor the traffic to/from device. Besides, what would be the FUN in that? =) IDEA: So what I want to do is to configure the router, so that one of the switchport is removed from the normal br0 bridge. Instead, I want to make it behave like a switch on the WAN port. What's the best way of doing this? Should I create another bridge on the WAN & the device port? Can a single port belongs to two bridges? or would I need to create a subinterface first? Would I need a DHCP-relay? • How can I redirect/forward all the UDP/TCP traffic on one interface to another interface in OpenWrt

  I am new to networking and I have a measurement device (D) that periodically sends all its readings over few UDP multicast sockets (with different multicast IP addresses and different port numbers). That device even listens to a TCP socket simultaneously to modify its configuration on port 7234. Since the device has just a Ethernet interface for communication and I want to make it work wireless, I decided to use a very small wireless open-wrt based router that attaches to the device (D) and redirect/forward all the network traffic(Both UDP/TCP) to the router wireless interface. In order to simplify the problem assume that the Device (D) establishes following sockets (at the same time) UM_SOCK1: UDP mcast socket on 239.1.2.3 port# 50620 UM_SOCK2: UDP mcast socket on 239.1.2.4 port# 50640 TC_SOCK3: TCP DHCP/STATIC ip address 192.168.1.200 port 7234 And (D) is connected to Open-Wrt router (R) via interface en01 (Ethernet) the router has it own wireless interface on (wlan0) I want all the traffic from interface pass through wlan01 and vice versa (bi-directional) en01 <---- wlan01 What would be the minimum iptables or ... commands that I need to make this possible? Even I am wondering if traffic directing can be made easier like if the direction is not going to be based on IP addresses(not desired if the device is connected via DHCP) I would rather redirection to be Interface(en0) based or on MAC address (The best solution since my device has unique MAC address)?   i have a server with ESX5, have a switch with about 20 vlans, this is how setup the trunk port interface GigabitEthernet0/1/1 description ToOper port link-type trunk undo port trunk allow-pass vlan 1 port trunk allow-pass vlan 2 to 14 stp disable ntdp enable ndp enable bpdu enable then, i created a standar switch(sw1) using the vSphere Client, the VLAN ID is set to All (4095), i also created a VM with Debian 6, with a NIC connected to sw1, now, i want to configure this NIC for a selected group of vlans auto vlan10 iface vlan10 inet static address 11.10.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.224 mtu 1500 vlan_raw_device eth0 auto vlan14 iface vlan14 inet static address 11.10.1.65 netmask 255.255.255.248 mtu 1500 vlan_raw_device eth0 so, when i restart the network using /etc/init.d/networking restart, i got this error Reconfiguring network interfaces...SIOCSIFADDR: No such device vlan14: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device vlan14: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device SIOCSIFMTU: No such device vlan14: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device Failed to bring up vlan14. done. this is just part of the error, so, my questions is: is this possible?, i mean, what i'm trying to achieve using ESX Virtual Machines, VLANS, etc is this a Debian problem? can be solved? i've read about a file named z25_persistent-net.rules in Debian but it doesn't exist in my installation. in the In the vSphere Networking for ESX5 guide, you can read: If you enter 0 or leave the option blank, the port group can see only untagged (non-VLAN) traffic. If you enter 4095, the port group can see traffic on any VLAN while leaving the VLAN tags intact. So, in theory, it should work, right? Hope you can help me up with this one Thanks

• Windows 2008 R2 DHCP Overlapping Scopes

  We are trying to troubleshoot a scope overlap problem. We have multiple device types we wish to give all different ranges of a 16 bit subnet. IE. X device we wish to give 192.168.2.1-192.168.2.254/16, Y devices we wish to give 192.168.3.1-192.168.3.254/16. We are trying to accomplish this by creating different scopes and using the 60 class identifier. The problem is DHCP won't allow us to give these scopes with 16 bit masks because of the potential overlap. We aren't overlapping the address pool so why does DHCP care and can we work around this? If this isn't possible, how can i assign specific ranges by device type without creating multiple scopes? Any thoughts would be helpful. UPDATE: Entire Scope is 192.168.0.0/16 Gateway is 192.168.1.1/16 Device Hardware A - 192.168.20.1-192.168.20.254/16 Device Hardware B - 192.168.26.1-192.168.26.254/16 Device Hardware C - 192.168.85.1-192.168.85.254/16 We tried to setup multiple scopes for each device type (A,B,C) but couldn't specify a 16 bit mask as Scope A could technically overlap Scope B even thought our start and end addresses don't. • Adding View extending from SurfaceView to layout gives me a blank screen

  I'm very new to Android programming, so this is probably something pretty basic. I just have an xml layout with a few buttons. I'm trying to follow the model given by the JetBoy demo, so I'm adding a view to the layout which extends SurfaceView. When this new view is put in my xml layout, I just get a blank screen. Here's the XML layout if it helps. • html textfield in WebView in an Android application is hidden by the soft keyboard

  Hello, I have an Android application that is a TabHost with a WebView. I use it to load a specific html file that has a text field in its bottom part. When I touch the html textfield, the soft keyboard pops up, and hides the textfield, so that I cannot see what I have typed. I have noticed that the android's web browser has a nifty behaviour - in a web page, after the soft keyboard pops up, the web page scrolls smoothly so that the focusable textfield is visible to the user. How can I have this kind of behavior in my applicaiton?

• android app working on simulator but not on phone

  i have this app that i developed and it works great on the simulator with no errors what so ever. but the moment i try to run the same on the phone for testing, the app crashes stating filenotfoundexception. it says the file /res/drawable/divider_horizontal.9.png is missing. but actually speaking, i have never referenced that file through my code. i believe its a system/os file that is unavailable. i have a custom list view, i guess its the divider there... could somebody please suggest what is wrong here. i believe this is a similar issue discussed here..but i am unable to make • Trying to use linq to search based on table with hierarchical data.

  Duplicate many times over (and also these) I have a table called Types that has the following columns. ID Level Name ParentID (The ID of the parent row) and a table called ParentObject which has the following columns. ID TypeID there are 4 different level (possibly to be expanded to more). So if I had ID: 1 Level: 0 Name: Level0 ParentID: null ID: 2 Level: 1 Name: Level1 ParentID: 1 ID: 3 Level: 2 Name: Level2 ParentID: 2 ID: 4 Level: 3 Name: Level3 ParentID: 3 ID: 5 Level: 4 Name: Level4 ParentID: 4 In the ParentObject table I store the tree by just storing the lowest level ID. So if the ID i have is 4, I know that the tree actually goes Level0 - Level1 - Level2 - Level3 Basically, I need to be able to search all objects for a certain Type, or Type Level 2 for example in a linq statement. Say that the TypeID stored in the ParentObject table is 4, so Level3. But I actually want to search for all ParentObjects where the Level 2 type has an ID of 3. What would be the best way to do this since the id stored could be a level1 or a level2, etc.? Preferably in one linq statement if possible.

  I'm noticing something a bit unexpected with how SQL Server (SQL Server 2008 in this case) treats correlated subqueries within a select statement. My assumption was that a query plan should not be affected by the mere order in which subqueries (or columns, for that matter) are written within the projection clause of the select statement. However, this does not appear to be the case. Consider the following two queries, which are identical except for the ordering of the subqueries within the CTE: --query 1: subquery for Color is second WITH vw AS ( SELECT p.[ID], (SELECT TOP(1) [FirstName] FROM [Preference] WHERE p.ID = ID AND [FirstName] IS NOT NULL ORDER BY [LastModified] DESC) [FirstName], (SELECT TOP(1) [Color] FROM [Preference] WHERE p.ID = ID AND [Color] IS NOT NULL ORDER BY [LastModified] DESC) [Color] FROM Person p ) SELECT ID, Color, FirstName FROM vw WHERE Color = 'Gray'; --query 2: subquery for Color is first WITH vw AS ( SELECT p.[ID], (SELECT TOP(1) [Color] FROM [Preference] WHERE p.ID = ID AND [Color] IS NOT NULL ORDER BY [LastModified] DESC) [Color], (SELECT TOP(1) [FirstName] FROM [Preference] WHERE p.ID = ID AND [FirstName] IS NOT NULL ORDER BY [LastModified] DESC) [FirstName] FROM Person p ) SELECT ID, Color, FirstName FROM vw WHERE Color = 'Gray'; If you look at the two query plans, you'll see that an outer join is used for each subquery and that the order of the joins is the same as the order the subqueries are written. There is a filter applied to the result of the outer join for color, to filter out rows where the color is not 'Gray'. (It's odd to me that SQL would use an outer join for the color subquery since I have a non-null constraint on the result of the color subquery, but OK.) Most of the rows are removed by the color filter. The result is that query 2 is significantly cheaper than query 1 because fewer rows are involved with the second join. All reasons for constructing such a statement aside, is this an expected behavior? Shouldn't SQL server opt to move the filter as early as possible in the query plan, regardless of the order the subqueries are written?

• MYSQL Merging 2 results into 1 table

  Im building a c# program and am currently stuck at fetching data from MYSQL database and bind them to a grid view. I had been researching for a few days now but to no avail. I have 4 table in the database. table 1 - alpha table 2 - bravo table 3 - charlie table 4 - delta attributes of alpha (id, type, user, role ) attributes of bravo (id, type, date, user) attributes of charlie (id,type, cat, doneby, comment) atttibutes of delta (id,type, cat, doneby) * the pk of alpha and bravo is (id) * the pk of charlie and delta is (id, type) i did a query1 before by inner joinning alpha, bravo and charlie which leads to the sucessful result of (id, type, date, user, role, cat, doneby, comment) and i also did a query2 before by inner joinning alpha, bravo and delta which leads to the sucessful result of (id, type, date, user, role, cat, doneby) Right now, im trying to built a query3 which will merge the result from query1 and query2 together. the result of my attempts leads to (id, type, date, user, role, cat, doneby, comment,id, type, date, user, role, cat, doneby) As i do not want the repeated columns, I would like to seek advice on how to get the result to become like the one below by placing the records as a new tuple in the result table. (id, type, date, user, role, cat, doneby, comment) Thanks! P.S: the PK would not pose a problem due to (id, type)
