• Spring/RMI server error

  We have a Spring MVC web app (WAR) deploying to Tomcat (6.0.35) that launches a thread inside a separate JVM at deploy time (don't ask why - not my design) and then communicates with that thread via RMI over port 8888. Despite being totally convoluded, this was working perfectly fine up until yesterday, and now the thread is failing at startup and despite our best efforts to add logging into the mix, we are hitting a wall. Based on the verbage of this error, does anybody have any idea what might be causing this "connection refused" error? Running a netstat -an | grep 8888 (this is a Linux machine) produces no output which means nothing is listening on that port. Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions that lead to a fix. I have some markup that I do not wish to change and would prefer to treat this in the same fashion as a standard .Net server control. • Preference values - static without tables using a model with virtual attributes

  Im trying to eliminate two tables from my database. The tables are message_sort_options and per_page_options. These tables basically just have 5 records which are options a user can set as their preference in a preferences table. The preferences table has columns like sort_preferences and per_page_preference which both point to a record in the other two tables containing the options. How can i set up the models with virtual attributes and fixed values for the options - eliminating table lookups every time the preferences are looked up?

• JMeter - successfull HTTPS recording?

  Greetings, I'm utilizing Jmeter 2.3, which now supports "attempt HTTPS spoofing" under the Proxy Server element. I've tried on several different servers, and have had no success. Has anyone been able to successfully record from an HTTPS source with this setting? Or barring successfully recording, can anyone share a work-around? When available, I simply have HTTPS turned off at the server level, but this is not always feasible. THoughts?

• Mocking objects with complex Lambda Expressions as parameters

  Hi there, I´m encountering this problem trying to mock some objects that receive complex lambda expressions in my projects. Mostly with with proxy objects that receive this type of delegate: Func<Tobj, Fun<TParam1, TParam2, TResult>> I have tried to use Moq as well as RhinoMocks to acomplish mocking those types of objects, however both fail. (Moq fails with NotSupportedException, and in RhinoMocks simpy does not satisgy expectation). This is simplified example of what I´m trying to do: I have a Calculator object that does calculations: public class Calculator { public Calculator() { } public int Add(int x, int y) { var result = x + y; return result; } public int Substract(int x, int y) { var result = x - y; return result; } } I need to validate parameters on every method in the Calculator class, so to keep with the Single Responsability principle, I create a validator class.
