• Can not export JARS in lwjgl!

  I did it before but for some reason it's doing the stupid problem again. I want to export as a regular Jar file, not a folder full of files. I export it like in Oskar Veerhoak. cmd says Exception in thread "main" java.lang.RuntimeException: Resource not found: res/F lubberFlap.png at org.newdawn.slick.util.ResourceLoader.getResourceAsStream(ResourceLoa der.java:69) at com_FlubberSpace.MainFS.main(MainFS.java:118) I tested it out with my other project with the same code pretty much. This is how I load my Textures wood = TextureLoader.getTexture("PNG", ResourceLoader.getResourceAsStream("res/wood.png")); of course it works fine in eclipse but not after export. I havn't tried giving the previous game its' own project, I have it in a package. Can someone record how to export properly? I want a jar file that you just double click to start it. I also want it so nobody can extract the files and see my classes and res.

• Termite colony simulator using java

  hi everyone, i hve to design a simulator that will maintain an environment, which consists of a collection of patches arranged in a rectangular grid of arbitrary size. Each patch contains zero or more wood chips. A patch may be occupied by one or more termites or predators, which are mobile entities that live within the world and behave according to simple rules. A TERMITE can pick up a wood chip from the patch that it is currently on, or drop a wood chip that it is carrying. Termites travel around the grid by moving randomly from their current patch to a neighbouring patch, in one of four possible directions. New termites may hatch from eggs, and this is simulated by the appearance of a new termite at a random patch within the environment. A PREDATOR moves in a similar way to termites, and if a predator moves onto a patch that is occupied by a termite, then the predator eats the termite. At initialization, the termites, predators, and wood chips are distributed randomly in the environment. • 'inode table usage' spiking every morning at 8am

  I installed munin on my ubuntu server. It's showing my 'inode table usage' spiking every morning at 8am. It then rapidly curves down and settles over the course of several hours. What might cause this? I thought it might be something running in /etc/cron.daily but this was set to run at 6a.m. and I've changed it to 4am. The spike remains at 8am. I also enabled cron logging, but can't see anything getting launched at 8a.m. It's a virtual server hosted by memset. Could it be caused by something happening on the virtual host?

• OLTP Sql Server RAID configuration with 10 disks, allocation Unit and disk stripe size

  On a new db server I only have 10 disks to play with, The usage is about a booking every 3-5 seconds, so not high volume, I know compromises have to be made, but my initial thoughts are - DISK 1 & 2 - RAID 1 - OS DISKS 3,4,5,6 - RAID 10 - Data, Indexes & TempDB DISKS 7,8,9,10 - RAID 10 - Logs & Backup Full backups will take place when there is virtually no traffic on the website so not bothered about the contention with the logs. disk 3-10 - 8kb NTFS unit allocation size disk 3-10 - 64kb Disk Stripe size does this seems to be sensible, any other considerations I have omitted ? thanks

  How do I do factory reset on an EPSON Stylus Photo 1290 printer? The printer is refusing to work. It seems to be in some error state. I've tried re-installing drivers etc, but the printer itself seems to run some diagnostic routine when I switch it on, but will not do anything else. It will not move the carousel ready for me to change the printer cartridge or any other Is there'e some sequence of button presses on the printer to do a factory reset? The printer has three buttons on the front, plus a yellow button when the hood is open (as shown in this photo)

• Geometry library for python (or C++) for CAD-like operations?

  I'm trying to put together a simple program that will let me visualize a series of consecutive cuts on a wood panel using a router with a particular cutting head. I'm trying to find a decent geometry library that will give me a shortcut through the CAD-like stuff. Specifically, I'd like to be able to define a rectangular solid (the wood panel) and then define a bit profile shape, and take cuts through the rectangular solid (sometimes on a straight line, sometimes on a circular arc). Does anyone know of anything that will do this?

• Where does Chrome store its bookmarks in Ubuntu 11.10?

  I looked at all the other posts on this but can't find the directories mentioned (~/.config/google-chrome/Default/Bookmarks, it's a JSON file.). Being a 2 day Newbie to Ubuntu/Linux I would like to know if the location has changed in the latest version or if not how I locate the directory indicated. I have logged in as root and searched for the folder and can't find it although I imported my bookmarks from a html file so I know that they must be saved somewhere.

• Why are Full GCs not running on my gcInterval I set?

  ColdFusion 10 Update 10 Windows Server 2008 R2 Java 1.7.0_21 I am trying to figure Full GCs to run every 10 minutes. I have used the gcInterval JVM arg in the past on earlier versions of ColdFusion with success, but I have confirmed with verbose GC logs that Full GCs are still happening on the hour (Unless the Old Gen gets so full that it forces a full collection). • Mysql replication, one database server process

  On my development box, I want to experiment with a replication setup. But I don't want to create several mysqld processes (is it even possible?). I figured I have the main database in the process - have this as the master, then in the same process create the slave databases, and have the master data replicated into the databases that exist in the same db server. Is this possible? Is there an easier way of achieving this without trying to set up replication? Maybe to put it more simply: I want my Mysql server to be both master and slave(s) at the same time.

• How do I delete hardlinks, symbolic links, junction points, etc please?

  I could be wrong, but I'm yet to hear a valid argument for the exploitability that these things deliver...outweighing their very dubious / debatable functionality. They seem to me to be marginally handy, but I don't think I have any need for them. I do have a need for security, however. How can I delete their entire functionality permanently from my hard drive, please? Microsoft only has pages on how to create them; which seems almost peculiar to the point of being dubious (at least, to me...) And just a dumb command line question, am I correct in assuming fsutil hardlink list c: will enumerate every single hardlink on that drive? C:\Windows\system32>fsutil hardlink list c: \Windows\System32 Also, how do I delete symbolic links please ;) But I'd just rather have all symbolic linking and recursion-creating stuff removed, if that's possible? • VNC from Windows to OS X Lion: App stuck in fullscreen mode

  I'm connecting to a remote Mac through a Windows. ahh it gets more complicated than that. I'm sitting by my iMac. I use Virtual Box in it to launch Windows 7. In it I have a VPN connection to a remote Windows network, which allows me to use Remote Desktop to one of the Windows (Vista!) boxes over there. From that Vista box I VNC into a Mac OS X Lion. (Don't ask me why, but that Mac doesn't have a public ip which prevents me from accessing it in the first place.) So: OSXLion - (virtual)Windows7 - Windows Vista - OSX Lion That last Mac was recently upgraded from Snow Leopard. Now with Lion, sometimes apps run in fullscreen. Somehow I can't get out of that fullscreen. Normally you'd move the mouse pointer to the top of screen and a menu list bar drops down allowing you to reach the fullscreen button top right. Now, in my current setup that menu list bar never drops down on the remote Mac at the end of the line. Any ideas?

• How to create direct RS232 (PPP) connection from Windows 7

  I'm trying to create a direct connection to a hardware device via RS232 serial connection. Am using a USB to Serial adapter and works fine in WinXP but the option seems to have disappeared in Win7. This is the only connection option available for this piece of hardware so I have no choice. Currently have a netbook with WinXP installed purely for interfacing with this hardware. In XP it was just a matter of creating an "Advanced connection" and then "Directly to another computer" etc, I can find no such options in Win7.

• Illustrator export layers to png and keep layer names

  I have a set of 300 or so .ai files in which I will need to open each, separate one main layer into two (probably have to create an extra layer manually, and move needed stuff into that layer manually). Then I want to export those two layers to PNG. I would like to keep the layers' name in the output filenames. Any suggestion here? The save for web/devices doesn't seem to have an option for saving files using layer names.

• Repartition hard drive using Mac OS X, keep existing data

  I got a 1 TB disk a year or so ago and loaded it with some hundred of GB of data. I somehow neglected to check the file system, which turns out to be FAT-32 and thus too small for files bigger than 4 GB. So now I want to change it, without deleting the data. I thought I'd just make a new partition in the so far unused space. Then with the new partition, copy/move the data into the new partition, and then delete the old FAT-32 partition, and make the new partition bigger again... or just make a few more partitions. The critical step here is, can I make that new partition without ruining the data? The data should be fairly sequentially added to the start of the disk, but what do I know... so that's why I'm asking. Can I safely use Disk Utility for this? Any recommended file system?

• Entity Framework 4 relationship management in POCO Templates - More lazy than FixupCollection?

  I've been taking a look at EF4 POCO templates in beta 2. The FixupCollection looks fine for maintaining the model correctness after updating the relationship collection property (i.e. product.Orders it would set the order.Product reference ). But what about support for handling the scenario when some of those Order objects are removed from the context? The use-case of maintaining cascading deletes in the in-memory model. The old Typed DataSet model used to do this by performing the query through the container to derive the relationship results. Like the DataSet, this would require a reference to the ObjectContext inside the entity class so that it could query the top-level Order collection. Better support for Separation of Concerns in the ObjectContext would be required. It looks like EF is not suited to this use-case that DataSets did out of the box.... am I right?

• Don't Understand Sql Server Error

  I have a table of users (User), and need to create a new table to track which users have referred other users. So, basically, I'm creating a many-to-many relation between rows in the same table. So I'm trying to create table UserReferrals with the columns UserId and UserReferredId. I made both columns a compound primary key. And both columns are foreign keys that link to User.UserID. Since deleting a user should also delete the relationship, I set both foreign keys to cascade deletes. When the user is deleted, any related rows in UserReferrals should also delete. But this gives me the message: 'User' table saved successfully 'UserReferrals' table Unable to create relationship 'FK_UserReferrals_User'. Introducing FOREIGN KEY constraint 'FK_UserReferrals_User' on table 'UserReferrals' may cause cycles or multiple cascade paths. Specify ON DELETE NO ACTION or ON UPDATE NO ACTION, or modify other FOREIGN KEY constraints. Could not create constraint. See previous errors. I don't get this error. A cascading delete only deletes the row with the foreign key, right? So how can it cause "cycling cascade paths"? Thanks for any tips.

If operator overloading is a suitable solution, would writing code like friend QDataStream& operator << (QDataStream&,Compound) { ... } be a potential solution? I'm very open to suggestions! Please let me know if any further clarification is needed.

• Real Silverlight Support on Windows Embedded Compact 7?

  So Windows Embedded Compact 7 (another classic from the naming department) supports Silverlight for Windows Embedded. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsembedded/en-us/products/windowsce/compact7.mspx But this is a C++ only stripped down version of Silverlight 2 XAML. Does anybody know if Windows Embedded Compact 7 will support real Silverlight? This seems to be out of step with Windows Phone (which I think is based on Windows CE 6) and the fact that Windows Embedded Compact 7 supports Flash 10.1.

  I've got some older MFC code I wrote that I'm "freshening up" a bit. I have the following code in a window class' OnChar() handler. I really don't like using constants like 0x18. I'd like to make the code more readable. I know I can declare my own, but are there no Windows macros for these values? • How should I measure Concurrent Licence Usage

  Hi I have detailed stats on user access to my system detailing login and logout times as well as machine used, network username etc. I am in need of measuring what I would term a concurrent user licences level based on this information. Now I could take the maximum logged in for any 1 day in a 3 month period say 170 or I could take the average say 133. Does anyone have or know of a formula for working this out or is it as simple as the high water mark which is 170 in my example. A client has recently gone from an unlimited licence to a concurrent licence so I am faced with the task of setting the initial licence level. There is potential for more licence sales in the future so I don't want it set to high and I do want it based on historical data that the system collects rather than guess work.

  This is kind of a follow on from a previous question I posted but I've not been able to get it to work.. I'm trying to use multiple sets of tabs (jQuery) on one page.
