  • Windows 8 Google Contacts Sync doesn't sync custom fields

    I installed Windows 8 Pro a couple days ago. In the in-built "People" app, since there were options to sync contacts with several third party services like Facebook, Linkedin etc., I wanted to sync my Google contacts to the People app. The sync was successful and all my contacts migrated properly. However, the age old problem of custom fields not syncing between Google/Apple/Windows apps is still present. If a field label in my Google contacts is 'iPhone', it doesn't sync! Nor do any other custom fields except 'home' or 'work' with numbers. Is there a solution to this or any other workaround?

  • Citrix and Remote Desktop session showing inconsistency after some time - Windows 2003 Server

    We have a lab server RDE becomes blank screen after sometime though it connects . When we login , it just shows the blank desktop with nothing visible , just the wallpaper . Citrix takes long time to connect and if it does ( it takes long time "checking credential " screen even ) , it will also show a similar blank screen . Can anyone suggest where/what to look for to trouble shoot this issue . Let me know if u want any further details . The lab works well and fine when we do a reboot and then the same problem happens after an hour or so ...

  • How can I backup a remote dedicated Server 2008 to my own computer at home?

    My server 2008 has mysql databases, SQL Server databases, and multiple websites. How do I back this information up? I have setup the dedicated server to have two 300GB hard drives and they are both mirrored. I want to make sure that I have a backup somewhere else as well. If it's not my home server, I don't mind backing up somewhere else either but I want to make sure I can restore it completely in case of a failure.

    How do I check if a LUN has been presented to my server ? What are the Linux commands for that ? Do the LUNS show up in a fdisk -l command like a normal /dev/sda gets listed ? What are other commands assosicaed with general SAN related checks in Linux ? What is WWN and how does that have any relevance and Also please explain multipathing why if we have LUN's , what is the use of multipathing then ?   • Data Collection (Offline - no internet) and then syncing it to generate reports from server

    So, I have a new project I am planning on taking, and needed to know what skills will be required to achieve this project. The project is to do intensive data collection in the field where they don't have internet access. As part of the data collection, images will be uploaded as part of the data collection which will have to be resized, etc. Once the data collection occurs, this data needs to be consolidated and reported on. I am thinking there are two ways of generating the report. 1. Into a PDF that can be designed. 2. Is there a way to generate an executable file (since the PDF will be huge due to multiple images, etc) and the executable file is navigation friendly with drop-downs etc. It might not be an executable file, but could be a web page or some way that this can be delivered to the client in a friendly professional way. The PDF will have to be generated somehow so that it can be printed as a hard copy. What languages and skill sets will I need to accomplish this project?

    Hello Everyone, I was working on a site of Cakephp which was successfully delivered.But recently Client again appered and asked me to put the Wordpress blog in it,to cover up the Blogging thing in his site.He wants to share the authentication between the Cakephp and WP.Whoever registers in his site,then Logins in it and if he clicks on the Blog Tab,he must be redirected to the WP blog with the session still there.After some googling I have installed it in /app/webroot/blog folder but I am not able to edit the .htaccess file. Please help me in the right direction,that how to share the authentication betwenn Cake Php and Wordpress, and the second one how to customize the .htaccess file so that URL's look good.     I have a website (not a web application- in visual studio you get two options-create a website/project) running on IIS 6.0. Now I want to develop few features in MVC architecture. So I created one MVC application in visual studio and everything is working fine on localhost as a separate application. Now I want to host this MVC app also inside the website I have already deployed. I created a virtual directory(MVCDir) inside the default website in IIS 6.0. The global.asax file which was in root folder I added the routing function- Shared Sub RegisterRoutes(ByVal routes As RouteCollection) routes.Ignore("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}") routes.Ignore("{resource}.aspx/{*pathInfo}") routes.MapPageRoute("Default4", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", "~/MVCDir", False, New RouteValueDictionary(New With {.controller = "Home", .action = "Index", .id = Mvc.UrlParameter.Optional})) End Sub * NOTE- If I write routes.ignoreRoute instead of routes,ignore it says- IgnoreRoute is not a member of System.Web.RoutingCollection* I called this routing function inside application_start function now when I run domain.com/home/index How to solve this problem? it says resource not found

  • Does Github.com have to create a merge commit when you merge from a fork ?

    I cloned the master and started doing he my work . Due to permissions I push the branch to my fork . I then sent a pull request to my master and someone with permission does the merge . I notice that Github.com creates a merge commit snapshot which to me looks like just a diff of the entire changes which is actually not necessary but helpful in the sense I can just look at merge commit to see the entire diff . I can see the same sha has as my own branch - hence it looks like the merge is an extra commit which probably aint nexeccary since its a fast forward ? master - a myfork(computer) - a->b->c myfork(github) - a->b->c Pull request myfork - master (which it says I can automatically merge) shows the entire diff and then when I merge it , it shows up as master - a->b->c-d . The d is a merge commit which I think it not really required because it is a fast forward ? Can someone explain why does this happen ? I think this is the same scenario if I rebase master if master had gone ahead , but that has not happened . Master is still at when I merge .

    I started web development in LAMP/WAMP and it was logical to me . There is a Web Server program called Apache which does the networking part of setting up a service on port 80 ( common port ) . If the request is regular HTML it uses the HTTP headers to transport files .And if the request for the file is a PHP one , it has a mod_php with which Apache invokes the PHP interpreter to process the file and it gives back HTML which is again transferred as usual HTML . Now the question is what is a Web Framework ? I came across Python based website creation and there is Flask . What is a flask , how does it compare with LAMP . Further are DJango / Ruby on Rails different from flask ? Can someone answer me and also give some good places to read on these .Thanks for your answers in advance . Further is things like LAMP slower than the common FRAMEWORKS because they claimn easy deplyment fo web apps .

    Hi, I want to access the messages stored in inbox through my android project. I have tried the method of forming URI for sms (content://sms/ inbox) and then quering it for various parametres. But I cannot find any documentation for reading inbox sms in the standard Android Developr Docs. It was mentioned at various websites that this content has been removed from the standard sdk. The application may not support higher version of android. So, how can I create an apllication to read sms from inbox that is reliable in furture version of android. Please help !!

    I have installed the application on the client's server. Here's the issue though.. The client's server is running on medium trust. With medium trust godaddy does not give persmissions to certain files. If you go to the following URL : http://helpingyougethired.com/Introduction.aspx you will see the error : Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Practices.ObjectBuilder. If I delete the "Microsoft.Practices.ObjectBuilder.dll" and "Microsoft.Practices.ObjectBuilder.xml", the pages load. But when I try to save the form, I get some error related to this dll. So I need to find an alternative for this dll. I cannot use this DLL. my save, delete, select process is depend on this dll plz provide any solution if u have. thanks in advance

  • Facebook Connect in Iphone header include path.

    Hi, I am trying to compile facebook library for my iphone application. But I am getting this error. error: FBConnect/FBConnect.h: No such file or directory I have added the location of the folder in header search paths and yet it is not compiling. This is the path that I have added- /Users/nishant/Downloads/facebook-facebook-iphone-sdk-1059eb6/src. I even tried the copy files to destination folder option, but that also did not work. I know this is a very simple step, but I am getting frustrated, because I have tried this like 20-30 times. Any help.
