  I'm teaching my self python and I was translating some sample class Student: def __init__( self, name, a,b,c ): self.name = name self.a = a self.b = b self.c = c def average(self): return ( a+b+c ) / 3.0 Which is pretty much my intended class definition Later in the main method I create an instance and call it a if __name__ == "__main__" : a = Student( "Oscar", 10, 10, 10 ) That's how I find out that the variable a declared in main is available to the method average and that to make that method work , I have to type self.a + self.b + self.c instead What's the rationale of this? I found related questions, but I don't really know if they are about the same

  Hi, I am a newbie in this Silverlight Databinding subject. I am starting to understand how cool is this declaratively way of data binding. To try it out, I have this listbox in my Page.xaml: <ListBox Height="100" Name="lbCategories" Width="236" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="20,0,0,0" SelectionMode="Multiple" ItemsSource="{Binding Categories}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" /> In my Page.xaml.cs I have a public property called Categories of the type ObservableCollection. It works if this following line is present in my CS file: DataContext = this; But I want to avoid any programatically databinding. • Change Sprite Anchorpoint without moving it?

  I am trying to change my Sprite anchor point so that I can rotate over a 0.0f,0.0f anchorpoint. At first my object is rotation at the default anchor point (0.5f,0.5f). However later on I need it to rotate over a 0.0,0.0 AnchorPoint. The problem is I cannot change the anchor point and change the position accordingly, so it stays on the same position, without the object appearing to quickly move and reposition to its original point. Is there a way I can set the anchor point and the position of my Sprite at once, without it moving at all?. Thank you. -Oscar

  Hi, I have a configuration file with a lot of data like sensor locations, type, rules for activating devices etc. Basically related to a pervasive system. I plan to design an ontology for this domain. The doubt in my mind is how should I populate the ontology with the information in the configuration file, as the configuration files are going to change every now and then. Earlier I was planning to use XML, so I can just read the configuration file at runtime and create an XML as per the XSD. Do we use the same technique for Ontologies? If yes then what is the format of the populated ontology? Thanks Chan

• Question regarding built-in type variable is returned from a function

  Hello, If a local object is returned in a function call, it has to do at least three steps: 1. Copy constructor is called to hold a copy. 2. Destroy local object. 3. A copy is return. For example: x = y + z If x is an integer object. A copy of y + z should be returned, then a new object is created, then assignment operator of x will take this object as parameter. So my question is: Is the same process used for built-in type such as int, double...? If they're not the same, how's it done? Thanks, Chan

  I'm experiencing some problems when trying to connect my PC to the router through a switch. When the PC is directly connected to the router, everything works fine, Ubuntu (14.04) starts normally, and the Internet connection runs inmediately. • Using Microsoft Office 2007 with E-Business Suite Release 12

• Best way of learning Python + GUI when coming from .NET

  I've been developing applications in C# / VB.NET for about 3-4 years (.NET Framework v2.0, 3.5, 4). I have also developed some command-line applications or scripts in C, and Python under Linux. Sometimes I need to develop my applications in another languages, like Python, but the problem thing is that lots of those applications require a GUI. Maybe not a too complex one, but it does require some windows with buttons, text boxes, list boxes,... What books/tips/tutorials do you suggest me to start working with that language and be able to deploy my deliverables not only in .NET? Note: Learning python is not the big deal here, because I already know the basic of it. I just want to focus on the GUI. Maybe this question should be on UI instead of here? If so, please, migrate it :)

• Identifying Data Model Changes Between EBS 12.1.3 and Prior EBS Releases

  The EBS 12.1.3 Release Content Document (RCD, Note 561580.1) summarizes the latest functional and technology stack-related updates in a specific release.  The E-Business Suite Electronic Technical Reference Manual (eTRM) summarizes the database objects in a specific EBS release.  Those are useful references, but sometimes you need to find out which database objects have changed between one EBS release and another.  This kind of information about the differences or deltas between two releases is useful if you have customized or extended your EBS instance and plan to upgrade to EBS 12.1.3.   Oracle Database 10g Release 2 version 10.2.0.4 is now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (12.0.4 or higher, 12.1.1 or higher) on the Windows Itanium x64 (64-bit) platform. The operating system supported on this platform is Windows Server 2003. This is a 'database-tier only' certification (previously known as a 'split configuration database tier' certification) where the application tier must be on a different fully certified E-Business Suite R12 platform.This 'database-tier only' platform was previously certified with 12.0 and 10.2.0.3 - customers can now apply the 12.1.1 Maintenance Pack to upgrade their application tier to 12.1.1 while running the 10gR2 database on this platform.

• EBS 12.0 Minimum Requirements for Extended Support Finalized

  Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0 will transition from Premier Support to Extended Support on February 1, 2012.  New EBS 12.0 patches will be created and tested during Extended Support against the minimum patching baseline documented in our E-Business Suite Error Correction Support Policy (Note 1195034.1).These new technical requirements have now been finalized.  To be eligible for Extended Support, all EBS 12.0 customers must apply the EBS 12.0.6 Release Update Pack, technology stack infrastructure updates, and updates for EBS products if they're shared or fully-installed.  The complete set of minimum EBS 12.0 baseline requirements are listed here:E-Business Suite Error Correction Support Policy (Note 1195034.1)
