  • I/O redirection using cygwin and mingw

    I have written a program in C and have compiled it using MinGW. When I try to run that program in Cygwin, it seems to behave normally (i.e. prints correct output etc.) However, I'm trying to pipe output to a program so that I can parse information from the program's output. However, the piping does not seem to be working in that I am not getting any input into the second program. I have confirmed this by using the following commands: This command seems to work fine: ./prog Performing this command returns nothing: ./prog | cat This command verifies the first: ./prog | wc Which returns: 0 0 0 I know that the script (including the piping from the program) works perfectly fine in an all Linux environment. Does anyone have any idea for why the piping isn't working in Cygwin? Thanks!

How to do this in PHP .... How to identify that the url contains something after Joomla_1.5.7 to get it??

    Solution is called Portal which holds Areas/CMS/Login folder inside it. Login controller in CMS/Controllers is the same as AccountController in Portal solution. I customized Login and it works all fine except one thing: When I use [Authorize] filter and If user is not logged in than he is redirected to http://localhost:1177/Account/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2fCMS%2fArticle and I would like that redirection takes user to here: http://localhost:1177/CMS/Login Any idea how to solve this?     I have a domain "test.com" and I want this domain to redirect to "mydomain.com/test". I'm with 1and1 for my domain test.com and with discountAsp for mydomain.com. In the control panel of 1and1 you can set a redirection from a domain to another domain, so everything is fine. But when i'm on the page mydomain.com/test I want my url to be rewritten as test.com Is this possible to do that with IIS or in my asp.page (would prefer in my page) I'm using iis7 Thanks

    Hi.. I asked this question here but don't get reply so far. I hope posting it too here is ok. For page redirection, in a mobile site development, I am using <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=/pagetwo.jsp"/> because it is required to work when Javascript is off. However, I find it working only in BlackBerry (BB) simulator, not in real BB (I tried with BB 8250 and 9700). Could anyone help me please, what could be the reason. Thanks.

  • Printer Redirection from 2003 Terminal Server to 2008 Terminal Server

    Our environment is a terminal server cluster (Win2003 servers) that everyone connects to do do their work. I have set up a new Win2008 R2 machine with the intention of using it to publish our main application to the TS farm. The idea was to keep this server dedicated to one application to avoid driver/dll conflicts with other software. I created a RemoteApp on the new server and made an .rdp file and placed it on the desktop of our TS farm servers. The problem I am running into is that when I connect to the RemoteApp, it doesn't show the printers that are installed on the TS server I am connecting from. We have over 20 printers installed on our TS servers, each with different drivers and permissions. I really do not want to reinstall all of these on the RemoteApp server so I was hoping Printer Redirection would handle this. It would appear that because the RDP client for Server 2003 x64 is 6.0, that version doesn't support the Easy Print feature (requires 6.1). I can't find any newer version on the MS site to download for Win2003 x64. How can I get the printers on the TS farm machine to redirect so they are viewed by the RemoteApp machine?

This webpage redirects the user to another webpage, more or less the following way: <form method="post" action="anotherpage.php" id="myform"> <?php foreach($_GET as $key => $value){ echo "<input type='hidden' name='{$key}' value='{$value}' />"; } ?> </form> <script> document.getElementById('myform').submit(); </script> Well, you see, what I do is transferring the GET params into POST params. Do not tell me it is bad, I know that myself, and it is not exactly what I really do, what is important is that I collect data from an array and try submitting it to another page via POST. But if the user has JavaScript turned off, it won't work. What I need to know: Is there a way to transfer POST parameters by means of PHP so the redirection can be done the PHP way (header('Location: anotherpage.php');), too? It is very important for me to pass the params via POST. I cannot use the $_SESSION variable because the webpage is on another domain, thus, the $_SESSION variables differ. Anyway, I simply need a way to transfer POST variables with PHP ^^ Thanks in advance!

  • How can I erase the traces of Folder Redirection from the Default Domain Policy

    I've taken over from an IT outsourcer and have found a struggle now that we're starting a migration to windows 7. Someone decided that they would setup Folder redirection in the Default Domain Policy. I've since configured redirection in another policy at an OU level. No matter what I do, the windows 7 systems pick up the Default Domain Policy folder redirection settings only. I keep getting entries in the event log showing that the previously redirected folders "need to be redirected" with a status of 0x80000004. From what I can tell this just means that it's redirecting them locally. Is there a way I can wipe that section of the GPO clean so it's no longer there? I'm hesitant to try to reset the default domain policy to complete defaults. ***UPDATE 6-26 I found that the following condition occurred and was causing the grief here. I've already implemented the new policies for clients, and for some reason, XP was working great, 7 was refusing to process. The DDP was enforced. Because of this, and the fact that the folder redirection policies were set to redirect back to the local profile upon removal, it was forcing clients to pick up it's "redirect to local" settings. Requirements for to recreate the issue. -Create a new test OU and policy. -Create some folder redirection settings, set them to redirect to local upon removal -Remove settings on that GPO -Refresh your view of the GPO and check the settings. -You'll notice that the settings show "not configured" entries for folder redirection. -Enforce this GPO -Create another sub-OU -Create a GPO linked to this sub-ou and configure some folder redirection settings. -Watch as the enforced GPOs "not configured" setting overrides the policy you just defined. I've had to relink the DDP to all OU's that have "block inheritance" enabled, and disable the "enforced" option on the DDP as a workaround. I'd love to re-enable enforcement of the DDP, but until I can erase the traces of folder redirection settings from the DDP, I think I'm stuck.

  • What is the difference between "Redirection" and "Pipe"?

    This question may sound a bit stupid, but I can not really see the difference between redirection and pipes. Redirection is used to redirect the stdout/stdin/stderr, e.g. ls > log.txt. Pipes are used to give the output of a command as input to another command, e.g. ls | grep file.txt. But why are there two operators for the same thing ? Why not just write ls > grep to pass the output through, isn't this just a kind of redirection also ? What I am missing ?

    I had a similar question posted here a few hours ago, just now I got the answer that I should look into using AJAX to do this. Since I want to complete this part of the site today I can't afford to learn AJAX from the basics to do this now.. This shouldn't be something difficult and I thougt that I would be able to do this but I'm not skilled enough... I have a form, when you click submit, it posts to twitter.com/statuses/update.xml and I need to be able to do so without being redirected there. Is there an easy way to do this or do I need to learn AJAX?   • Routing redirection decision

    I have really no idea why I'm asking this as this a really completely irrelevant question for which I should have figured out an answer within milliseconds, yet I'm doing it. So in my project I have a Router class which splits up the request and selects the right page to be loaded. Fine so far. Now I have a page displayed when the user requests a page that doesn't exist, you know, 404. So theoretically, if the user entered mydomain.com/404 (I use mod_rewrite with a requests collector via index.php?req=*) the 404 error would be shown to him, but in fact there was no error - the 404 page would be displayed as a perfectly normal page. So if someone would try out requesting the 404 page via /404, he would be shown the page but he can't tell if the 404 page he requested doesn't exist and he is actually getting a, you guessed it, 404 error or if he actually found some flaw in the system that makes him able to see an error page when there is no error. I don't know how dumb this whole thing here is but I'm sure some of you have in fact ran into this problem already. Short version: If the user enters mydomain.com/404 the 404 page is shown even though there is no 404 error. I know this is a completely irrelevant question, please don't tell me, but I just spontaneously wanted to hear your thoughts on it. Strange eh? Should I redirect direct access to my 404-page to the home page? Should I do nothing? Should I just go to bed and stop asking irrelevant stuff?

    Hi! This is a quite weird and annoying problem, which is reproduced with the script below. Say we have two pages: script.php and script.php?second. Page 1 creates some database entries and redirects to page 2. On page 2, the user is presented with an editor for said entries. If page 1 for some reason crashes on the first try, and prints some error message, a strange thing will happend. If we refresh page 1 (and this time it redirects fine), every consecutive refresh (of page 2) will actually refresh page 1 and again redirect to page 2.     We have a lot of mobile/home users with different client side printers attached. Most of these users don't need to print on the client side and we don't want all of these users Terminal Services sessions trying to map their client side printers and we don't want all of these drivers on the Terminal Server. What is the best way to set up around 90 users to have no client side printer redirection and 10 users to have client side printer redirection (to the printers attached to their home computers)? Do I need to create two separate OU's in AD one for redirection and one for no redirection and create two different policies one for each OU? One GPO with Client Server data redirection Do not allow client printer redirection disabled and one enabled? Is it preferrable instead to change each user's AD User Properties Enviroment Client devices Connect client printers at logon setting? Is there any for me to direct "ALL HP Printers" to a single HP Universal Printer Driver, "ALL Canon Printers" to a single Canon Universal Printer Driver, etc without specifying hundreds of unique printer names in the printsub.inf file?     I need some help guys. I've just modified the Folder Redirection Policy on my server at work so the hiarcy resembles windows 7's user folder structure rather than XP. I did this to the book so I know its right. However, I'm still seeing that all the user accounts are still layed out as XP compatible folder hiracys. Is there somthing I need to do to update these accounts with the new policy?

    I have some pages on my website www.acethem.com which are having 301 redirection but they are not actually 301 redirects. e.g. www.acethem.com/pastpapers/by-year/2007/ is seen as a 301 redirection to www.acethem.com/pastpapers/by-year by google (I am using "Fetch as google" in webmaster tools. Now more weird: My paginated pages with page = 10 are all redirected to homepage: http://www.acethem.com/pastpapers/o-level/chemistry/page/10/ while http://www.acethem.com/pastpapers/o-level/chemistry/page/9/ is working properly in google crawler. Note that all these pages work fine with no redirect in browsers. Sidenote: on www.acethem.com/pastpapers/by-year/2007/, the facebook share button also points to www.acethem.com/pastpapers/by-year/.

    On windows server 2003 when one user connects to the server via RDP the default printer of the server for her profile does not change to the redirected printer of the session. This only happens with the one user all the other users default printers defaults to their session printer automatically.
