  • Skip “Next Links” with the PageZipper Bookmarklet

    No matter what browser you use sooner or later you will run across a website with an endless number of “next links” used for the sole purpose of generating page views. Now you can simply scroll through those articles without the “next links” using the PageZipper Bookmarklet. The Problem Here is a perfect example of a page view generating article. As you can see our browser is in a non-maximized state and the first part of the article takes up very little room in the browser window. Absolutely horrible… The PageZipper Bookmarklet in Action The bookmarklet is very easy to set up in your browser…simply drag it to your “Bookmarks Toolbar” and you are ready to go. Switching tabs back to the article we never even needed to refresh the page. One nice little click on our new bookmarklet and… It immediately went to work. When you use PageZipper you will see a page count in the upper right corner of the browser window area as shown here. You can see the transition between pages here…nice and smooth. When using the bookmarklet just keep scrolling down as needed to read the entire article. Six pages of reading condensed into one without having to click a single link. Now that is nice!     For almost everyone who made the upgrade, Windows 8 proved to be something of a disappointment for one reason or another. Windows 8.1 (or Windows Blue) was released to address many of the issues users had complained about including reintroducing the ability to boot straight to the desktop. Being able to boot to the desktop rather than the Start screen is something that people have been clammering for ever since the first preview versions of Windows 8 were unveiled. There have been various third-party tools released as numerous workarounds used to get around the problem, but now it is an option that is built directly into the operating system. You’ll need to have downloaded and installed the update in order to proceed, but once you have done this, things are very simple. When you have Windows up and running after the upgrade, right click an empty section of the taskbar and select properties to bring up the newly named “Taskbar and Navigation properties” dialog.  Move to the Navigation tab and look in the “Start screen” section in the lower half of the dialog. Check the box labelled ‘Go to the desktop instead of Start when I sign in” and click OK.

So if i open mp3 files in Totem: and Banshee 2.4 So for my main music player I use Banshee 2.4, which works pretty well, despite a few occasional hiccups (any suggestions as to something better are totally welcome) but when I'm downloading new mp3s to my desktop and I want to check them out I normally just click on them and have them open in Totem. ubuntu 11.04 x64

    I had recently purchased a new server, and transferred all my accounts via WHM Transfer. The problem is that when WHM takes a daily backup, it outputs are message such as DBD::mysql::st execute failed: There is no such grant defined for user 'abc' on host 'myhostname' The problem is solved when I remove skip-name-resolve from my my.cnf file. Tough I dont find any differences in the speed (when I dont add it), it is often mentioned in forums that adding skip-name-resolve optimizes Mysql Performance. Does adding skip-name-resolve really help, if one has a Dedicated server?

But if the next product matching the criteria in the query is 2 or more ID's ahead my cycle breaks. So is there a way for skipping this rows and get the next ID matching the criteria.     I am trying to setup these values: #skip-bdb #skip-locking #skip-innodb When I add them to /etc/mysql/my.cnf and even if I turn ON of of, them after I do the service restart mysql fails to start, and no error message printed. sudo service mysql restart [ ok ] Stopping MySQL database server: mysqld. [FAIL] Starting MySQL database server: mysqld . . . . . . . . . . . . . . failed! Previously I made sure that I have no InnoDB tables, and all files of that type were removed. I tried looking for error files but I couldn't locate it: /var/log/mysql.err is a 0 byte file /var/log/mysql folder has no files rsyslog was changed in past with inetutils-syslogd, and this might have changed the log files, and it could be the reason why I don't see any error logs, and I am stuck how to look or go forward.

  • LINQ expression precedence with Skip(), Take() and OrderBy()

    I'm using LINQ to Entities and display paged results. But I'm having issues with the combination of Skip(), Take() and OrderBy() calls. Everything works fine, except that OrderBy() is assigned too late. It's executed after result set has been cut down by Skip() and Take(). So each page of results has items in order. But ordering is done on a page handful of data instead of ordering of the whole set and then limiting those records with Skip() and Take(). How do I set precedence with these statements? My example (simplified) var query = ctx.EntitySet.Where(/* filter */).OrderBy(/* expression */); int total = query.Count(); var result = query.Skip(n).Take(x).ToList();

    I'd like to skip the entire Grub 2 interface, where I have to decide booting Linux or Windows im running linux ubuntu lastest version (14.04.1 LTS) and windows 8.1 both 64 bit versions. I've installed easyBCD software, which I want to use as (my only) boot manager. Issue: whenever I run my computer, I get grub interface to pick Linux or Windows, after that I get easyBCD interface where I have to pick linux or windows again. If both choices are the same, proper system boots, else I get thrown back to beggining (grub UI). I'd like to somehow delete / skip grub from appearing. TLDR title :) thank you for helping!

  • Eclipse making background video skip with almost every click of the mouse

    The problem is i like to listen to videos online (mostly or all flash video) while programming and never had any problems until i started using eclipse, now every time i do just about anything other than type, it makes the video skip/freeze really bad and is really annoying. I have never had this happen using visual studio, netbeans, or adobe flash for that matter, unless i was compiling or doing something that hogs the processor. Are there any settings that might could fix this its getting really annoying. it happens almost every time i even click "find" on the find pop-up window and it is not like it is having to search a big file or anything it is only 700 lines, with honestly only about 1/2 that have content on them. Any ideas?

Is it possible to skip this confirmation?

    Say I wrote a long command in the Mac OSX terminal, i.e say "Hello, how are you? I am good thank you. How is it going with you? Fine, thanks" and now I decided I want to change the word Hello to Hi. To do that, right now I have to keep pressing (or hold down) the left keyboard key until the "cursor" gets to the end of the word Hello, and then delete it. The usual 'holding down option' technique doesn't work as it does in most other OS X applications. Is there a way to skip a word at a time instead (or any other shorter way of getting the cursor there)? Thanks!

    We are using Robocopy to redistribute files which arrive via FTP in a drop folder. Ideally we want Robocopy to leave files alone if they are still being FTPd. Having tried various switches, Robocopy still copies the open files. It doesn't delete them, so the FTP continues unaffected. However, we end up with truncated files being distributed to their destination. Can Robocopy be made to skip open files? Perhaps there is something more suitable than Robocopy for this task?

  • Skip Corrupt Revisions During SvnAdmin Load

    I have a dump file that I am generating from VSS with the use of the VSS2SVN script. I've tested the generated dump file before and some of the revisions are corrupt for one reason or another (binary data or long path strings seem to be the main culprit). This is fine. In the past I have used svndumpfilter to split the dump file, remove the corrupt revisions and continue to load the repository. It worked but took a lot of manual effort to start the load, hit the bad revision, split the dump file, continue loading the repo, etc. This dump file is pretty large (~5GB) and takes several hours to load. I think I know the answer to this but is there any way to simply tell svnadmin load to keep going and skip corrupt revisions? I know how to verify, backup, etc. the dump file and don't need any of that. I don't care about recovering corrupt revisions. I just want to start the load, walk away, and not worry about checking it every few hours to manually remove the corrupt revisions. Is that possible? Thanks.

  • Skip new Windows 7 user selection and go to login prompt

    We've begun our migration to windows 7 and we ran into an interesting issue. When we hit "CTRL+ALT+DEL" we are brought to the "User selection Screen". Normally, this screen will have an icon for every local user for the machine. These machines are Domain members with "Fast User Switch" disabled so no user names are listed only the "Other User" option. If you click "Other User" or hit enter, the system moves on to the normal login screen where it prompts for user name and password. Here's the issue: We want to find a way to skip over the part where a user selects "Other User". We essentially want the system to always assume that we always want "Other User" and to go directly to the login screen when a user hits "CTRL+ALT+DEL". What I find odd is that the "Other User" doesn't show up until we've had more than one domain user log in. Right after we re-image the machine, the login process goes directly to the user credential prompt. Anyone have any ideas?
