  • jQuery append value to html input depending on other input

    - by werm
Ok, the title is a bit confusing, but here's my predicament. I've made a web app to track UPS packages internally at work. Currently, you input the tracking number and then select the city it was shipped from. All tracking numbers from an account start with the same X amount of numbers. So if someone entered "1Z8473..." into one input, "Houston, TX" would automatically be entered into the next input. Is this a difficult thing to pull off? Where would I begin?

  • HTML: upload-form in an other form

    - by chris
hi! I have a little problem with an upload-form within an other form (call it data-form). I know it is not possible to put a form into an other. So I would need to put it after my data-form. But I need the upload-form controls in the middle of my data-form because of optical and structural reasons. The file-upload should also perform other actions and not the same than the data-form. So any idea how can I make the upload-form after my data-form but visible in it or any other ideas to handle this? I am using javascirpt and php also. thanks and best wishes for 2011! br,chris

    - by Michael
    My form views fine in IE7 and IE8 but FireFox does not display the form correctly: The problem is it does not display the form inside my "mainContent1" Note my code below: <div id="mainContent1"> <form action="forms.php" target="_self"> <fieldset> <legend>Postal Address</legend> <label for="street">Street address:</label> <input id="street" name="street" type="text" /> <label for=" suburb">County</label> <input id="county" name="county" type="text" /> <label for="state">State</label> <input id="state" name="state" type="text" /> <label for="zip">Zip Code</label> <input id="zip" name="zip" type="text" /> </fieldset> </form> </div>

  • html-login form not working

    - by codymanix
I have a child page LoginContent.aspx which contains a login form. If the user logs in he should be redirected to my Welcome.aspx page. But if I press the login button the page just reloads itself, nothing happens. The codebehind on this page is empty. Both LoginContent.aspx and Welcome.aspx are child forms of the same master page. <form method="post" action="~/Welcome.aspx"> Username: <input type="text" name="username" size="15" /><br /> Password: <input type="password" name="passwort" size="15" /><br /> <input type="submit" value="Login"/></p> </form> I know I could use the asp.net login control but I want more control over things.

  • Get to know what HTML-button is clicked with PHP, no Name of value available

    - by koko
I have a wizard with 4 steps and in one of the steps, you can add items. By default, there are 3 time 5 empty input-fields listed. When you click a button, there have to be added some more. The 3 times 5 fields are added by a loop. How can I determine where I have to add some fields (in the first 5 field of the second or the third). I can't use another name for every button, because sometimes there can be more then 3 groups of 5 fields. In my code (PHP), I use the name of the button to know what happened in the form, so the name can't be different for the button in every group ... Further, the whole step is 1 form, so the post can't go to another script ... The value of the button has to be the same for every group. I've been thinking on possible solutions and these came up: On click a javascript adds a value to the post (in a hidden field?) But is this posted with the form? Could it be possible to get the ID of the clicked button? This might be different :-) I need a refresh after the click, so pure javascript isn't a solution either ... It is a very specific question, but I hope someone can give me some direction. Here is the code I'm talking about: <h3><label class="list_list:table_title">Eten</label></h3> <table id="eten"> <thead> <tr> <th>Naam item</th> <th>Aantal</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td class="item"><input type="text" name="item_1_1" value="" class="inputText" maxlength="64" size="46" tabindex="11"/></td> <td class="amount"><input type="text" name="amount_1_1" value="" • HTML Calendar form and input arrays

    - by Christopher Ickes
    Hello. Looking for the best practice here... Have a form that consists of a calendar. Each day of the calendar has 2 text input fields - customer and check-in. What would be the best & most efficient way to send this form to PHP for processing? <form action="post"> <div class="day"> Day 1<br /> <label for="customer['.$current['date'].']">Customer</label> <input type="text" name="customer['.$current['date'].']" value="" size="20" /> <label for="check-in['.$current['date'].']">Check-In</label> <input type="text" name="check-in['.$current['date'].']" value="" size="20" /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Update" /> </day> <div class="day"> Day 2<br /> <label for="customer['.$current['date'].']">Customer</label> <input type="text" name="customer['.$current['date'].']" value="" size="20" /> <label for="check-in['.$current['date'].']">Check-In</label> <input type="text" name="check-in['.$current['date'].']" value="" size="20" /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Update" /> </day> </form> Is my current setup good? I feel there has to be a better option. My concern involves processing a whole year at once (which can happen) and adding additional text input fields.

  • How to decode a html string using xslt

    - by John ClearZ
I am trying to style an rss feed using xslt. I want to display an image that is stored in the tag on the feed. The problem is it is encoded to display as text on the page instead of being rendered. The following is an example of part of the string. 1). <description>&lt;img src="http&amp;#58;&amp;#47;&amp;#47;buavhw.blu.livefilestore.com&amp;#47;y1ppCokLxFJSG2cmyPdvg... I had to add extra coding to the string above to get it to appear properly here. The string below is how it appears when I paste it directly into the text box. 2). <description><img src="http&#58;&#47;&#47;buavhw.blu.livefilestore.com&#47;y1ppCokLxFJSG2cmyPdvg... If I copy and paste it again from the preview window it only then becomes the following string. 3). <description><img src="http://buavhw.blu.livefilestore.com/y1ppCokLxFJSG2cmyPdvg...

  • Getting text at clicked location in an HTML element

    - by Marc
I have a div element containing some text. When the user clicks a word inside that div I'd like to highlight just that word. In order to do this I need to know what character position in the text the click occurred at, so I can then locate nearby whitespace and insert some formatting around the word. Finding out where the click occurred within the text is the trick here. Is that kind of thing possible?

  • BlogEngine - Mangling of HTML Anchor Links in TinyMCE Editor

    - by IrishChieftain
When I create the following link: <a href="~/Contact.aspx" runat="server">Contact us</a> The editor strips out the runat attribute, breaking the link. It's also inserting "/page" into the URL which I do not want to happen. Is there some editor setting to prevent this from happening? I've checked here and couldn't find an answer. UPDATE I've added the following to tinyMCE.acsx to allow the addition of the runat attribute to anchor links: tinyMCE.init({ ... extended_valid_elements : "a[href|runat=server]" ... }); This solves the problem with the runat attribute being stripped out. My only remaining problem is the automatic insertion of "page" in the URL. Anybody?

  • How can I access attributes of Html elements in ASP.NET MVC

    - by Richard77
With ASP.NET Webforms, I could drag and drop a control on a form and be able to access its properties: if (number == 0) AddButton.Enabled = false; Although I cannot drag and drop a control on a ASP.NET MVC View template, can I change its attributes? For instance: disable a button in some conditions and be able to enable it if conditions change. Be able to change the text of a button from "Next-" to "Finish" etc.

  • http/html/ajax: show result before site is completely processed

    - by chris
hi! I am looking for a way to show in a webapp in front of a task a wait-message and after it hide the message. The task is running a longer time. I dont know if it is possible at all. The problem is, so far I can see, that the site will be returned to the users browser AFTER the task is completed because the task is part of the site as a inline code replaces by the webserver interpreter (no matter if php, perl or whatever). The only solution I can imagine is to parallel the task with threads or processes and requery the state with ajax in the website. Any idea to do it less complex? Thanks for help! regards chris
