• one table is shared between several websites

  I have a static table that's shared by several websites. By static, I mean that the data is read but never updated by the websites. Currently, all websites are served from the same server but that may change. I want to minimize the need for creating/maintaining this table for each of the websites, so I thought about turning it to an xml file that's stored in a shared library that all websites have access to. The problem is I use an ORM and use forign key constraints to ensure integrity of the ids used from that table, so by removing that table out of the MySQL database into an XML file, will this affect the integrity of the ids coming from that table? My table looks like this <table name="entry"> <column name="id" type="INTEGER" primaryKey="true" autoIncrement="true" /> <column name="title" type="VARCHAR" size="500" required="true" /> </table> and I use it as a foreign key in other tables <table name="refer"> <column name="id" type="INTEGER" primaryKey="true" autoIncrement="true" /> <column name="linkto" type="INTEGER"/> <foreign-key foreignTable="entry"> <reference local="linkto" foreign="id" /> </foreign-key> </table> So I'm wondering if I remove that table out of the database, is there a way to retain that referential integrity? And of course are these any other efficient ways to do the same thing? I just don't want to have to repeat that table for several websites.

• How to run setInterval() on multiple canvases simultaneously?

  I have a page which has several <canvas> elements. I am passing the canvas ID and an array of data to a function which then grabs the canvas info and passes the data onto a draw() function which in turn processes the given data and draws the results onto the canvas. So far, so good. However - I need to animate the canvas. As soon as I replace line 8 of the above example; draw(dimensions, data, i); with setInterval( function() { draw(dimensions, data, i); }, 33 ); It stops working and only draws the last canvas (with the others remaining blank). I'm new to both javascript and canvas so sorry if this is an obvious one, still feeling my way around. Guidance in the right direction much appreciated! Thanks.

• How can you get the call tree with python profilers?

  I used to use a nice Apple profiler that is built into the System Monitor application. As long as your C++ code was compiled with debug information, you could sample your running application and it would print out an indented tree telling you what percent of the parent function's time was spent in this function (and the body vs. other function calls). For instance, if main called function_1 and function_2, function_2 calls function_3, and then main calls function_3: main (100%, 1% in function body): function_1 (9%, 9% in function body): function_2 (90%, 85% in function body): function_3 (100%, 100% in function body) function_3 (1%, 1% in function body) I would see this and think, "Something is taking a long time in the code in the body of function_2. If I want my program to be faster, that's where I should start." Does anyone know how I can most easily get this exact profiling output for a python program? I've seen people say to do this: import cProfile, pstats prof = cProfile.Profile() prof = prof.runctx("real_main(argv)", globals(), locals()) stats = pstats.Stats(prof) stats.sort_stats("time") # Or cumulative stats.print_stats(80) # 80 = how many to print but it's quite messy compared to that elegant call tree. • Loading Views dynamically

  Case 1: I have created View-based sample application and tried execute below code. When I press on "Job List" button it should load another view having "Back Btn" on it. In test function, if I use [self.navigationController pushViewController:jbc animated:YES]; nothing gets loaded, but if I use [self presentModalViewController:jbc animated:YES]; it loads another view haveing "Back Btn" on it. Case 2: I did create another Navigation Based Applicaton and used [self.navigationController pushViewController:jbc animated:YES]; it worked as I wanted. Can someone please explain why it was not working in Case 1. • Strange(?) Opera Floating

  I have some strange floating behaviour on opera (IE f's up completely different, but that's for later). I'm floating the i-icons to the right. It works nicely on Fx and WebKit, but opera shifts the icons down a bit. Anyone got an idea how this happenes? • Using ASP.NET SQL Membership Provider, how do I store my own per-user data?

  I'm using the ASP.NET SQL Membership Provider. So, there's an aspnet_Users table that has details of each of my users. (Actually, the aspnet_Membership table seems to contain most of the actual data). I now want to store some per-user information in my database, so I thought I'd just create a new table with a UserId (GUID) column and an FK relationship to aspnet_Users. However, I then discovered that I can't easily get access to the UserId since it's not exposed via the membership API. (I know I can access it via the ProviderUserKey, but it seems like the API is abstracting away the internal UserID in favor of the UserName, and I don't want to go too far against the grain). So, I thought I should instead put a LoweredUserName column in my table, and create an FK relationship to aspnet_Users using that. Bzzzt. Wrong again, because while there is a unique index in aspnet_Users that includes the LoweredUserName, it also includes the ApplicationId - so in order to create my FK relationship, I'd need to have an ApplicationId column in my table too. At first I thought: fine, I'm only dealing with a single application, so I'll just add such a column and give it a default value. Then I realised that the ApplicationId is a GUID, so it'd be a pain to do this. Not hard exactly, but until I roll out my DB I can't predict what the GUID is going to be. I feel like I'm missing something, or going about things the wrong way. What am I supposed to do?

  Hi, I have a little problem. I need to do some little operations on quite many files in one little program. So far I have decided to operate them in a single loop where I just change the number after the name. The files are all named TFxx.txt where xx is increasing number from 1 to 80. So how can I open them all in a single loop one after one? I have tried this: for(i=0; i<=80; i++) { char name[8] = "TF"+i+".txt"; FILE = open(name, r); /* Do something */ } As you can see the second line would be working in python but not in C. I have tried to do similiar running numbering with C to this program, but I haven't found out yet how to do that. The format doesn't need to be as it is on the second line, but I'd like to have some advice of how can I solve this problem. All I need to do is just be able to open many files and do same operations to them.

• Why does Hibernate 2nd level cache only cache queries within a session?

  Using a named query in our application and with ehcache as the provider, it seems that the query results are tied to the session within the cache. • How can I bind Wpf DataGridColumn to an object?

  I want to bind the columns of my WPF DataGrid to some objects in a Dictionary like this: Binding Path=Objects[i] where Objects is my Dictionary of objects, so that each cell will represent an Object element. How can I do that? I suppose that I need to create a template for my cell, which I did, but how to get the result of column binding in my template? I know that by default the content of a DataGridCell is a TextBlock and it's Text property is set through column binding result, but if that result is an object I guess that I have to create a ContentTemplate. How do I do that, as the stuff I tried is not displaying anything.   Hi! I have a problem with mapping many-to-one relationship without exact foreign key constraint set in database. I use OpenJPA implementation with MySql database, but the problem is with generated sql scripts for insert and select statements. I have LegalEntity table which contains RootId column (among others). I also have Address table which has LegalEntityId column which is not nullable, and which should contain values referencing LegalEntity's "RootId" column, but without any database constraint (foreign key) set.   IE8 has a known bug (per connect.microsoft.com) where typing or pasting text into a TEXTAREA element will cause the textarea to scroll by itself. This is hugely annoying and shows up in many community sites, including Wikipedia. • return only the last select results from stored procedure

  The requirement says: stored procedure meant to search data, based on 5 identifiers. If there is an exact match return ONLY the exact match, if not but there is an exact match on the not null parameters return ONLY these results, otherwise return any match on any 4 not null parameters... and so on My (simplified) code looks like: create procedure xxxSearch @a nvarchar(80), @b nvarchar(80)... as begin select whatever from MyTable t where ((@a is null and t.a is null) or (@a = t.a)) and ((@b is null and t.b is null) or (@b = t.b))... if @@ROWCOUNT = 0 begin select whatever from MyTable t where ((@a is null) or (@a = t.a)) and ((@b is null) or (@b = t.b))... if @@ROWCOUNT = 0 begin ... end end end As a result there can be more sets of results selected, the first ones empty and I only need the last one. I know that it is easy to get the only the last result set on the application side, but all our stored procedure calls go through a framework that expects the significant results in the first table and I'm not eager to change it and test all the existing SPs. Is there a way to return only the last select results from a stored procedure? Is there a better way to do this task ?

• How to establish a socket connection from iPhone to a Apache server and communicate via PHP?

  Hi, I am working on an iPhone game which is depended on a LAMP server. I want to create a "event" based system where the apache server sends an event to the iphone. For this, I am thinking of using "CFStreamCreatePairWithSocketToHost" to connect to port 80 of the apache server. I am able to successfully connect to the server and open a read and write stream via the iPhone, but I am not sure how to send data to the iphone using PHP running from the LAMP server to the iPhone. I think I can use fsockopen in php to open a socket connection and write data to that socket. • Problems with string parameter insertion into prepared statement

  Hi, I have a database running on an MS SQL Server. My application communicates via JDBC and ODBC with it. Now I try to use prepared statements. When I insert a numeric (Long) parameter everything works fine. When I insert a string parameter it does not work. There is no error message, but an empty result set. WHERE column LIKE ('%' + ? + '%') --inserted "test" -> empty result set WHERE column LIKE ? --inserted "%test%" -> empty result set WHERE column = ? --inserted "test" -> works But I need the LIKE functionality. When I insert the same string directly into the query string (not as a prepared statement parameter) it runs fine. WHERE column LIKE '%test%' It looks a little bit like double quoting for me, but I never used quotes inside a string. I use preparedStatement.setString(int index, String x) for insertion. What is causing this problem? How can I fix it? Thanks in advance.

• Can not open ports in iptables on CentOS 5??

  I am trying to open up ports in CentOS's firewall and am having a terrible go at it. I have followed the "HowTo" here: http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Network/IPTables as well as a few other places on the Net but I still can't get the bloody thing to work. Basically I wanted to get two things working: VNC and Apache over the internal network. The problem is that the firewall is blocking all attempts to connect to these services. Now if I issue service iptables stop and then try to access the server via VNC or hit the webserver everything works as expected. However the moment I turn iptables back on all of my access is blocked. Below is a truncated version of my iptables file as it appears in vi -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p tcp -m state --state NEW -m tcp --dport 5801 -j ACCEPT -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p tcp -m state --state NEW -m tcp --dport 5901 -j ACCEPT -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p tcp -m state --state NEW -m tcp --dport 6001 -j ACCEPT -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p tcp -m state --state NEW -m tcp --dport 5900 -j ACCEPT -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p tcp -m state --state NEW -m tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT Really I would just be happy if I could get port 80 opened up for Apache since I can do most stuff via putty but if I could figure out VNC as well that would be cool. As far as VNC goes there is just a single/user desktop that I am trying to connect to via: [ipaddress]:1 Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• CakePHP adding columns to a table

  I have a Profile model/controller in my cake app as well as an index.ctp view in /views/profiles. Now, when I go to add a column to my table that is already filled with data, and then add the corresponding code to the view to pick up this column's data, it just gives me an empty result. • Jetty 7 will not allow me to customize a session cookie path

  Using Jetty 7.0.2, I am unable to set a custom session cookie path. I am hosting multiple sites on the same server using apache to proxy requests to the proper context. (replaced http as htp as stackoverflow thinks my multiple links might be spam) <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName context.domain.com ProxyRequests On ProxyPreserveHost Off <Proxy *:80> Order deny,allow Allow from 127.0.0.1 </Proxy> ProxyPass / htp://localhost:8080/context/ ProxyPassReverse / htp://localhost:8080/context/ <Location /> Order allow,deny Allow from all </Location> </VirtualHost> Jetty is running on the same server on port 8080 and my context is available @ /context The user accesses the application @ htp://context.domain.com but jetty is setting the path for the session cookie @ /context. This prevents the browser from accessing the cookie since the the actual path to the context is not being used. I need to override Jetty's default setting to set the cookie for the context, and set the path at the root ( / ). In my Jetty's webdefault.xml I have the following, which is partially working: <context-param> <param-name>org.eclipse.jetty.servlet.SessionCookie</param-name> <param-value>CustomCookieName</param-value> </context-param> <context-param> <param-name>org.eclipse.jetty.servlet.SessionPath</param-name> <param-value>/</param-value> </context-param> The cookie is properly set with a custom name, but it is NOT setting the SessionPath. No matter what I set the value to... it refuses to set a cookie at any path but /context. This has been driving me crazy so any help would be greatly appreciated.

As you can see I have hardcoded the StaticResource name I want to be able to have a binding with property Image on this Template, something like So that I can set the Image property of the button with the name of the StaticResource I want.   I have a huge (4,5 GB) csv file.. I need to perform basic cut and paste, replace operations for some columns.. the data is pretty well organized.. the only problem is I cannot play with it with Excel because of the size (2000 rows, 550000 columns). here is some part of the data: ID,Affection,Sex,DRB1_1,DRB1_2,SENum,SEStatus,AntiCCP,RFUW,rs3094315,rs12562034,rs3934834,rs9442372,rs3737728 D0024949,0,F,0101,0401,SS,yes,?,?,A_A,A_A,G_G,G_G D0024302,0,F,0101,7,SN,yes,?,?,A_A,G_G,A_G,?_? D0023151,0,F,0101,11,SN,yes,?,?,A_A,G_G,G_G,G_G I need to remove 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th columns; I need to find every _ character from column 10 onwards and replace it with a space ( ) character; I need to replace every ? with zero (0); I need to replace every comma with a tab; I need to remove first row (that has column names; I need to replace every 0 with 1, every 1 with 2 and every ? with 0 in 2nd column; I need to replace F with 2, M with 1 and ? with 0 in 3rd column; so that in the resulting file the output reads: D0024949 1 2 A A A A G G G G D0024302 1 2 A A G G A G 0 0 D0023151 1 2 A A G G G G G G (both input and output should read one line per row, ne extra blank row) Is there a memory efficient way of doing that with java(and I need a code to do that) or a usable tool for playing with this large data so that I can easily apply Excel functionality..

  I'm developing an application, which is looking for optimal route and timetable in public transport. I have some experience about Doctrine1, but it's my first time with Doctrine2. There is soem new fields to describe relations (mappedBy and inversedBy) and also some new ways of mapping. • Lazy loading is not working for one to many

  Any 1-M that use the primary key of the parent table, but any 1-M that uses a different column does not work. It generates the SQL correctly, but put the value of the key into the SQL instead of the column value I want. Example mapping: public TemplateMap() { Table("IMPORT"); LazyLoad(); Id(x => x.ImportId).Column("IMPORT_ID").GeneratedBy.Assigned(); Map(x => x.ImportSetId).Column("IMPORTSET_ID"); HasMany(x => x.GoodChildren) .Access.CamelCaseField() .KeyColumns.Add("IMPORT_ID") .Cascade.Delete() .Inverse(); HasMany(x => x.BadChildren) .Access.CamelCaseField() .KeyColumns.Add("IMPORTSET_ID") .Cascade.Delete() .Inverse(); } Lazy loading works for GoodChildren, but not for BadChildren. The SQL statement is correct for both children. But the wrong values are use. If the value of IMPORT_ID is 10 and the value of IMPORTSET_ID is 12. The value 10 will be used for the IMPORTSET_ID in the SQL for BadChildren instead of 12. Anyone have any ideas what I need to change to get BadChildren to work correctly? Note: GoodChildren links to IMPORT_ID on Template BadChildren links to IMPORTSET_ID on Template
