  • Python Importing object that originates in one module from a different module into a third module

    - by adewinter
I was reading the sourcode for a python project and came across the following line: from couchexport.export import Format (source: https://github.com/wbnigeria/couchexport/blob/master/couchexport/views.py#L1 ) I went over to couchexport/export.py to see what Format was (Class? Dict? something else?). Unfortunately Format isn't in that file. export.py does however import a Format from couchexport.models where there is a Format class (source: https://github.com/wbnigeria/couchexport/blob/master/couchexport/models.py#L11). When I open up the original file in my IDE and have it look up the declaration, in line I mentioned at the start of this question, it leads directly to models.py. What's going on? How can an import from one file (export.py) actually be an import from another file (models.py) without being explicitly stated?

  • Comparing Object properties using reflection

    - by Kumar
I have two classes Address and Employee as follows: public class Address { public string AddressLine1 { get; set; } public string AddressLine2 { get; set; } public string City { get; set; } public string State { get; set; } public string Zip { get; set; } } public class Employee { public string FirstName { get; set; } public string MiddleName { get; set; } public string LastName { get; set; } public Address EmployeeAddress { get; set; } } I have two employee instances as follows: var emp1Address = new Address(); emp1Address.AddressLine1 = "Microsoft Corporation"; emp1Address.AddressLine2 = "One Microsoft Way"; emp1Address.City = "Redmond"; emp1Address.State = "WA"; emp1Address.Zip = "98052-6399"; var emp1 = new Employee(); emp1.FirstName = "Bill"; emp1.LastName = "Gates"; emp1.EmployeeAddress = emp1Address; var emp2Address = new Address(); emp2Address.AddressLine1 = "Gates Foundation"; emp2Address.AddressLine2 = "One Microsoft Way"; emp2Address.City = "Redmond"; emp2Address.State = "WA"; emp2Address.Zip = "98052-6399"; var emp2 = new Employee(); emp2.FirstName = "Melinda"; emp2.LastName = "Gates"; emp2.EmployeeAddress = emp2Address; Now how can I write a method which compares these two employees and returns the list of properties which have different values. So in this example I would like the result to be FirstName and Address.AddressLine1 .

  • Pass temporary object to function that takes pointer

    - by Happy Mittal
I tried following code : #include<iostream> #include<string> using namespace std; string f1(string s) { return s="f1 called"; } void f2(string *s) { cout<<*s<<endl; } int main() { string str; f2(&f1(str)); } But this code doesn't compile. What I think is : f1 returns by value so it creates temporary, of which I am taking address and passing to f2. Now Please explain me where I am thinking wrong?

  • Process a batch of items, return an object to report on status

    - by Naeem Sarfraz
I'm looking for a pattern (or good practice) for the following scenario: My function List<BatchItemResponse> Process(List<BatchItem> Data) {..} will process a list of data, and return info on where each item in the batch could be processed. struct BatchItemResponse { int BatchItemID; bool Processed; string Description; } Any thoughts? Is what I've proposed as good as it gets?

  • No parameterless constructor defined for this object when simply copying site

    - by jaffa
I'm getting the above error. All I have done is copied an existing site and set-up debugging to use a different port using IISExpress in Visual Studio. Any ideas why I would suddenly get this error? Normally I get this error when StructureMap cannot for some reason resolve a dependency to inject into a controller. But this has me stumped. The code-base is the same. All I've done is copied the code into another folder!?!

  • JavaFX MouseEvent continues when I remove the object it happened on

    - by Kyle
It took me a while to realize what was going on with mouse events going through my blocking dialog boxes when I closed them, but I finally figured out why. I still don't know any good way to fix it. I have a custom dialog box (that blocks the mouse) with a close button. When I click the close button, I remove the dialog box from the scene, but JavaFx is still processing the MouseEvent and now it finds that there is nothing blocking the screen behind where the cancel button was, so that component receives a MouseEvent. How do I make the mouseEvent stop processing when I see that they pressed cancel and remove the dialog box? Or, is there a way to make the removing of the dialog box not happen until after it is done processing the MouseEvent? Example Code for the problem: import javafx.stage.Stage; import javafx.scene.Scene; import javafx.scene.shape.Rectangle; import javafx.scene.input.MouseEvent; import javafx.scene.control.Button; var theScene:Scene; var btn:Button; Stage { title: "Application title" scene: theScene= Scene { width: 500 height: 200 content: [ Rectangle{ width: bind theScene.width height: bind theScene.height onMouseClicked: function(e:MouseEvent):Void{ println("Rectangle");} }, Button{ layoutX: 20 layoutY: 50 blocksMouse: true text: "JustPrint" action:function():Void{ println("JustPrint");} }, btn = Button{ layoutX: 20 layoutY: 20 blocksMouse: true text: "Cancel" action:function():Void{ println("Cancel"); delete btn from theScene.content;} }, ] } } When you press "JustPrint" you get: JustPrint When you press "Cancel" you get: Cancel Rectangle

  • Doctrine - get the offset of an object in a collection (implementing an infinite scroll)

    - by dan
I am using Doctrine and trying to implement an infinite scroll on a collection of notes displayed on the user's browser. The application is very dynamic, therefore when the user submits a new note, the note is added to the top of the collection straightaway, besides being sent (and stored) to the server. Which is why I can't use a traditional pagination method, where you just send the page number to the server and the server will figure out the offset and the number of results from that. To give you an example of what I mean, imagine there are 20 notes displayed, then the user adds 2 more notes, therefore there are 22 notes displayed. If I simply requests "page 2", the first 2 items of that page will be the last two items of the page currently displayed to the user. Which is why I am after a more sophisticated method, which is the one I am about to explain. Please consider the following code, which is part of the server code serving an AJAX request for more notes: // $lastNoteDisplayedId is coming from the AJAX request $lastNoteDisplayed = $repository->findBy($lastNoteDisplayedId); $allNotes = $repository->findBy($filter, array('createdAt' => 'desc')); $offset = getLastNoteDisplayedOffset($allNotes, $lastNoteDisplayedId); // retrieve the page to send back so that it can be appended to the listing $notesPerPage = 30 $notes = $repository->findBy( array(), array('createdAt' => 'desc'), $notesPerPage, $offset ); $response = json_encode($notes); return $response; Basically I would need to write the method getLastNoteDisplayedOffset, that given the whole set of notes and one particoular note, it can give me its offset, so that I can use it for the pagination of the previous Doctrine statement. I know probably a possible implementation would be: getLastNoteDisplayedOffset($allNotes, $lastNoteDisplayedId) { $i = 0; foreach ($allNotes as $note) { if ($note->getId() === $lastNoteDisplayedId->getId()) { break; } $i++; } return $i; } I would prefer not to loop through all notes because performance is an important factor. I was wondering if Doctrine has got a method itself or if you can suggest a different approach.

  • Linq to NHibernate - How to include parent object and only certain child objects

    - by vakman
Given a simplified model like the following: public class Enquiry { public virtual DateTime Created { get; set; } public virtual Sender Sender { get; set; } } public class Sender { public virtual IList<Enquiry> Enquiries { get; set; } } How can you construct a Linq to Nhibernate query such that it gives you back a list of senders and their enquiries where the enquiries meet some criteria. I have tried something like this: return session.Linq<Enquiry>() .Where(enquiry => enquiry.Created < DateTime. Now) .Select(enquiry => enquiry.Sender) In this case I get an InvalidCastException saying you can't cast type Sender to type Enquiry. Any pointers on how I can do this without using HQL?

  • asp file system object

i am using this code to access files and folders. <%@ Language=VBScript %<% option explicit dim sRoot, sDir, sParent, objFSO, objFolder, objFile, objSubFolder, sSize % <% sRoot = "D:Raghu" sDir = Request("Dir") sDir = sDir & "\" Response.Write "" & sDir & "" & vbCRLF Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") on error resume next Set objFolder = objFSO.GetFolder(sRoot & sDir) if err.number < 0 then Response.Write "Could not open folder" Response.End end if on error goto 0 sParent = objFSO.GetParentFolderName(objFolder.Path) ' Remove the contents of sRoot from the front. This gives us the parent ' path relative to the root folder ' eg. if parent folder is "c:webfilessubfolder1subfolder2" then we just want "subfolder1subfolder2" sParent = mid(sParent, len(sRoot) + 1) Response.Write "" ' Give a link to the parent folder. This is just a link to this page only pssing in ' the new folder as a parameter Response.Write "Parent folder" & vbCRLF ' Now we want to loop through the subfolders in this folder For Each objSubFolder In objFolder.SubFolders ' And provide a link to them Response.Write "" & objSubFolder.Name & "" & vbCRLF Next ' Now we want to loop through the files in this folder For Each objFile In objFolder.Files if Clng(objFile.Size) < 1024 then sSize = objFile.Size & " bytes" else sSize = Clng(objFile.Size / 1024) & " KB" end if ' And provide a link to view them. This is a link to show.asp passing in the directory and the file ' as parameters Response.Write "" & objFile.Name & "" & sSize & "" & objFile.Type & "" & vbCRLF Next Response.Write "" % it works fine. but when i try to access something on shred path like: "\cvrdd0110:share" it gives error. how to access these files?

  • Testing methods called on yielded object

    - by Todd R
I have the following controller test case: def test_showplain Cleaner.expect(:parse).with(@somecontent) Cleaner.any_instance.stubs(:plainversion).returns(@returnvalue) post :showplain, {:content => @somecontent} end This works fine, except that I want the "stubs(:plainversion)" to be an "expects(:plainversion)". Here's the controller code: def showplain Cleaner.parse(params[:content]) do | cleaner | @output = cleaner.plainversion end end And the Cleaner is simply: class Cleaner ### other code and methods ### def self.parse(@content) cleaner = Cleaner.new(@content) yield cleaner cleaner.close end def plainversion ### operate on @content and return ### end end Again, I can't figure out how to reliably test the "cleaner" that is made available from the "parse" method. Any suggestions?

  • Have an object fade in and out of existance

    - by happyCoding25
    Hello, I have a view that sets its hidden when the user taps the main view. I need the view to fade in and out of existence so it looks smoother than just disappearing. Heres my code so far (It's inside a touches event): if (!isShowing) { isShowing = YES; myView.hidden = YES; //Needs to fade out here } else { isShowing = NO; myView.hidden = NO; //Needs to fade in here }

  • How to discover table properties from SQLAlchemy mapped object

    - by ssaboum
Hi, My point is i have a class mapped with a table, in my case in a declarative way, and i want to "discover" table properties, columns, names, relations, from this class : engine = create_engine('sqlite:///' + databasePath, echo=True) # setting up root class for declarative declaration Base = declarative_base(bind=engine) class Ship(Base): __tablename__ = 'ships' id = Column(Integer, primary_key=True) name = Column(String(255)) def __init__(self, name): self.name = name def __repr__(self): return "<Ship('%s')>" % (self.name) So now my goal is from the "Ship" class to get the table columns and their properties from another piece of code. I guess i can deal with it using instrumentation but is there any way provided by the SQLAlchemy API ? Thank you.

  • Cast Object to JTable?

    - by Chris
I am trying to implement a ListSelectionListener for some of my JTables. Simply (at the moment) the ListSelectionListener is supposed to simply return the text of the cell that was selected. My program design has several JTables and I would like to have one ListSelectionListener work for them all. In the valueChanged event of the ListSelectionListener I thought it was possible to do something like: private class SelectionHandler implements ListSelectionListener { public void valueChanged(ListSelectionEvent e) { JTable table = (JTable)e.getSource(); String data = (String) table.getValueAt(table.getSelectedRow(), 0); // Print data } } But when I do this I a ClassCastException error. Is there a way to do something like this? One solution I thought of was to compare the source of the event (e.getSource()) to all my JTables to see if they were equivalent (big if block) and then just calling .getValueAt inside that block but that would making the code in the future difficult if tables were to be added or removed.

  • Javascript terminates after trying to select data from an object passed to a function

If I put an alert before it, the alert pops up, after it, it doesn't pop up. There must be something wrong with using $(data), but why? Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • Removing object from NSMutableArray

    - by Ben Packard
Just a small query... I stumbled across the following shortcut in setting up a for loop (shortcut compared to the textbook examples I have been using): for (Item *i in items){ ... } As opposed to the longer format: for (NSInteger i = 0; i < [items count]; i++){ ... } //think that's right If I'm using the shorter version, is there a way to remove the item currently being iterated over (ie 'i')? Or do I need to use the longer format?
