  • How to safeguard my code

    - by ram
I had posted my question in the below link on how to protect my code using Hg http://stackoverflow.com/questions/173875/how-do-you-protect-code-from-leaking-outside The question is: In a DVCS scenario how can we restrict the code leakages? Is there any way technically to restrict this like when I move our of my work automatically history of codes should not be viewed?

  • Recommendtations for a simple name registrar

    - by ripper234
I'm currently registering my domains through GoDaddy. Does the registrar matter? Any recommendations for registrars you're especially happy with? (See this very similar question, that requires API support. I need no such support, hence this question is more generic).

  • When should I opt for test driven development?

    - by VJ
My question is same as the title. I have not done Test driven development yet,I have performed unit testing and I am aware of testing in general but I hear it is much advantageous to follow TDD?. So should I opt for it everytime or are there some preconditions... i just need to know some basic or important requirements when i should opt for TDD. Sorry if this question is too trivial.

  • itertools.product eliminating repeated reversed tuples

    - by genclik27
    I asked a question yesterday and thanks to Tim Peters, it is solved. The question is here; itertools.product eliminating repeated elements The new question is further version of this. This time I will generate tuples inside of tuples. Here is an example; lis = [[(1,2), (3,4)], [(5,2), (1,2)], [(2,1), (1,2)]] When I use it in itertools.product function this is what I get, ((1, 2), (5, 2), (2, 1)) ((1, 2), (5, 2), (1, 2)) ((1, 2), (1, 2), (2, 1)) ((1, 2), (1, 2), (1, 2)) ((3, 4), (5, 2), (2, 1)) ((3, 4), (5, 2), (1, 2)) ((3, 4), (1, 2), (2, 1)) ((3, 4), (1, 2), (1, 2)) I want to change it in a way that if a sequence has (a,b) inside of it, then it can not have (b,a). In this example if you look at this sequence ((3, 4), (1, 2), (2, 1)) it has (1,2) and (2,1) inside of it. So, this sequence ((3, 4), (1, 2), (2, 1)) should not be considered in the results. As I said, I asked similar question before, in that case it was not considering duplicate elements. I try to adapt it to my problem. Here is modified code. Changed parts in old version are taken in comments. def reverse_seq(seq): s = [] for i in range(len(seq)): s.append(seq[-i-1]) return tuple(s) def uprod(*seqs): def inner(i): if i == n: yield tuple(result) return for elt in sets[i] - reverse: #seen.add(elt) rvrs = reverse_seq(elt) reverse.add(rvrs) result[i] = elt for t in inner(i+1): yield t #seen.remove(elt) reverse.remove(rvrs) sets = [set(seq) for seq in seqs] n = len(sets) #seen = set() reverse = set() result = [None] * n for t in inner(0): yield t In my opinion this code should work but I am getting error for the input lis = [[(1,2), (3,4)], [(5,2), (1,2)], [(2,1), (1,2)]]. I could not understand where I am wrong. for i in uprod(*lis): print i Output is, ((1, 2), (1, 2), (1, 2)) Traceback (most recent call last): File "D:\Users\SUUSER\workspace tree\sequence_covering _array\denemeler_buraya.py", line 39, in <module> for i in uprod(*lis): File "D:\Users\SUUSER\workspace tree\sequence_covering _array\denemeler_buraya.py", line 32, in uprod for t in inner(0): File "D:\Users\SUUSER\workspace tree\sequence_covering _array\denemeler_buraya.py", line 22, in inner for t in inner(i+1): File "D:\Users\SUUSER\workspace tree\sequence_covering _array\denemeler_buraya.py", line 25, in inner reverse.remove(rvrs) KeyError: (2, 1) Thanks,

  • How do I login to this site? [closed]

    - by Kevin Monk
This site drives me crazy! I'm a web developer. I understand technology, I understand OpenID, but I don't have a clue how to login to this site with the username I created whilst asking another question unless I ask yet another question? Sure, this is a techie site but if I can't work out how to log in then what hope is OpenID to the rest of the non technical world?

  • Javascript VS C#

    - by Joris
Maybe a strange and green question, but Is there anything C# can't do what javascript can... And considering JQuery? except for the fact that one is clientside, and the other serverside? Or am I asking a very stupid question now?

  • Visual Studio C#: Why is a "using" directive insufficient for some libraries?

    - by JYelton
Scenario: I needed to add HttpUtility to my project, and I started by adding "using System.Web" to my collection of using directives. However the HttpUtility class would still not resolve, and I discovered (via this question) that I needed to add a reference to my project. Question: Why do I need to add a reference to this library when for most other classes a "using" directive will suffice?

It seems that StackOverflow is more concerned about programming techniques and coding skills (which is a good thing!).. But I am asking if anyone knows another "StackcOverflow"-like site, but which is mainly concerned about Machine Learning and AI? BTW: I have asked this question after nearly a week without an answer for Question

  • SystemIO Exception when opening RFCOMM in Mono

    - by Chief A-G
I have a Mono application which opens a RFCOMM connection (/dev/rfcomm0) but when I run as a user, I get a System.IO.IOException Interrupted system call. I'm running this on openSUSE 11.2. If I run the application under sudo, it works fine. I have added the dialup group to my user account so I'm not getting a permission denied error. I'm not sure if this is a Mono serial comms question or a permissions question for ServerFault.

Question 1: are there scripts around that allow to auto connect to necessary host/DB based on query? Question 2: if above is not possible, is there a known approach to properly passing host/DB info to make sure app is properly connected before executing the query?

So this "question" makes no sense and will be closed. But are you willing to spend your hard-earned reputation to downvote it? Go on. A programmer should be able to make logical decisions, why will you downvote the question then instead of ignoring it?

  • Django + Ajax

    - by Joe
So, I am just starting to use jQuery with one of my Django projects, but I have a pretty noobie question. In a django view you have to return an HttpResponse object from the view, but sometimes I don't need to return anything. For instance, I might just be updating the database via ajax and don't need to send anything back. So my question is, what do you do in that situation? Thanks

  • drawing circle without floating point calculation

    - by zaharpopov
This is common interview question (according to some interview sites) but I can find no normal answers in Internet - some are wrong and some point to complex theory I expect not looked for in interview (like Bressenham algorithm). The question is simple: The circle equation is: x^2 + y^2 = R^2. Given R, draw 0,0-centered circle as best as possible without using any floating point (no trigo, square roots, and so on, only integers)

  • How to give focus to default program of shell-opened file, from Java ?

    - by Rabarberski
From within Java, I am opening an Excel file with the default file handler (MS Excel, in this case :-) ) using the method described in this stackoverflow question: Desktop dt = Desktop.getDesktop(); dt.open(new File(filename)); However, the Excel program doesn't get the focus. Is there any easy way to do so? Edit: There is a related stackoverflow question for C#, but I didn't find any similar Java method.
