  • Cannot enter input with gdb. Help!

    Hi, all. I've been having a tough time entering input with gdb using XCode or Eclipse. Every time the debugger hits std::cin, it looks like its waiting for input, but fails to accept it. I've scoured the internet for more information, but am having trouble finding anything. What do I need to do to get cin to work with gdb? For reference, I'm using XCode 3.2.2 and Eclipse Galileo.     I'm using Python and I'm not trying to extract the value, but rather test to make sure it fits the pattern. allowed values: spam123-spam-eggs-eggs1 spam123-eggs123 spam 123 eggs123 I just can't have a dash at the starting or the end. There is a question on here that works in the opposite direction by getting the string value after the fact, but I simply need to test for the value so that I can disallow it. Also, it can be a maximum of 25 chars long, but a minimum of 4 chars long. Here's what I've come up with after some experimentation with lookbehind, etc: # Nothing here

  • Cannot connect Linux XAMPP PHP to SQL Server database.

    I've searched many sites without success. I'm using XAMPP 1.7.3a on Ubuntu 9.1. I have used the methods found at http://www.webcheatsheet.com/PHP/connect_mssql_database.php, they all fail. I am able to "connect" with a linked database through MS Access, however, that is not an acceptable solution as not all users will have Access. The first method (at webcheatsheet) uses mssql_connect, et.al. but I get this error from the mssql_connect() call: Warning: mssql_connect() [function.mssql-connect]: Unable to connect to server: [my server] in [my code] [my server] is the server address, I have used both the host name and the IP address. [my code] is a reference to the file and line number in my .php file. Is there a log file somewhere that would have more information about the failure, both on my machine and SQL Server? We do not have a bona-fide DBA, so I will need specific information to pass on if the issue seems to be on the server side. All assistance is appreciated, including RTFM when the location of the M is provided! Thanks

    The MVC 2.0 RTM works great on my old Vista computer with VWD 2008 Express, but I just bought a new computer with Windows 7 Pro, I installed VWD 2008 Express SP1 and MVC 2.0 RTM by using Web PI 2.0. but after installation, I found the VWD doesn't have any MVC options, that means I can't either create new MVC projects or compile existing MVC projects. Why? What other steps I need to do to make it work? I'm sure the MVC has been installed properly since my MVC site on the new computer works well (so the IIS side has no problem), just the VWD can't 'realize' that the MVC framework is already installed... (tried to uninstall and install many times, and I also tried to install MVC separately without Web PI, but it just won't work)

In the touchesBegan:withEvent: method, I wanted to detect if the touched object is an AnimalView or not.   • ASP.Net 2.0 Web application cannot find specified module.

    Recently my ASP.NET application quit working. It is local to my machine. It quit working after installing and uninstalling some third party developer tools. (I believe) I emptied out my directory and started adding modules until I narrowed it down to a managed C++ dll. When I load the dll into Dependency Walker it says that "c:\windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.vc80.debugcrt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.762_x-ww_5490cd9f\MSVCM80D.DLL" loads fine, but "MSVCR80D.DLL" could not be found. However this dll exists in the same directory. The managed dll contains an embedded manifest and I am using Visual Studio 2005 service pack 1.

  • Rails: Cannot add :precision or :scale options with change_column in a migration?

    This seems to have been asked before: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1402547/rails-decimal-precision-and-scale But when running a change_column migration for :precision or :scale they don't actually affect the schema or database, but db:migrate runs without errors.   • ASP.Net: User controls added to placeholder dynamically cannot retrieve values.

    I am adding some user controls dynamically to a PlaceHolder server control. My user control consists of some labels and some textbox controls. When I submit the form and try to view the contents of the textboxes (within each user control) on the server, they are empty. When the postback completes, the textboxes have the data that I entered prior to postback. This tells me that the text in the boxes are being retained through ViewState. I just don't know why I can't find them when I'm debugging. Can someone please tell me why I would not be seeing the data the user entered on the server? Thanks for any help.

    An Android Java project placed in a git repository and built in an Android tree in /packages/apps needs to have the project files located at the root of the git repository. This is problematic for creating a complementary Test project, which should ideally be included in the same git repository so commits are atomic for both code and tests. Eclipse gets very unhappy if you include the Test project as a subdirectory. Is there an appropriate approach for dealing with this other than creating a second repository?

    I've used will_paginate in a number of projects now, but when I moved one of them to Rails 2.3.5, clicking on any of the pagination links (page number, next, prev, etc.,) went from getting nice URLs like this: http://foo.com/user/1/date/2005_01_31/phone/555-6161 to this: http://foo.com/?options[]=user&options[]=date&options[]=2005_01_31&options[]=phone&options[]=555-6161 I have a route that looks like this that is probably the source of the 'options' keyword: map.connect '/browse/*options', :controller=>'assets', :action=>'browse' It's enough of an annoyance that I'm willing to roll a paginator to get around this if there isn't a way to get back to where I was before. Is there a way to get will_paginate to turn array-style routes into sane urls again? Thanks.
