• iis not listening on port 80

  We have server 2003 and ISA 2004 with IIS 6 on same machnie. Everything worked well till yesterday, when we try to make some new rule in ISA..but this is a long story... Unfortunatelly something happend with our intranet site. Our site is on the port 80, but if we try to open on this client machines then we got and error page (which error page is our provider): 403-forbidden; Remote host not listening, the remote host is not prepared to acceppt the connection request. On the server i can open the site with port 80. If i change the port number in the iis and try to open the site with the port, then works well. I try to shut down IIS and start apache with a simple page. On the server works well but in clients the problem is the same, so i think this is not an IIS related problem. In the ISA we have a web pub rule, with port 80, no auth. Im pulling out my hair, please help. after uninstall and reinstall ISA, de sites work well, till i configure the upstream proxy in the conf/network/web chaining menu and then everything went same... So something wrong with the web-proxy / upstream function... (all my http request forward to my upstream proxy). That was the set long time ago...but a few day ago somehing went wrong... I think maybee our ISP spoiled something..tomorrow i try to figure out... But one more thing: I make a new rule before the default rule in the conf/network/web chaining menu. Every request go to the server not redirected.. Redirect to upstream server.... So if the request goes to our server (our site) then handled locally, and if not then go to upstream proxy and voilllaaa....i tougth... But unfortunatelly: our website work well, but internet work extreamly slowly..:( Maybee with single adapter i can made this? I have to handle all request locally or i have to send all to upstream? I cant filter it?

• Certain clients (IP range) can not ping server

  I just virtualized a Windows 2003 Server SP2 x32. The server contained our help desk server (Spiceworks) and our anti virus management server (ESET RAC). The host computer actually contained the virtualized server originally; I created the vhd and then I wiped this system clean and installed Windows 2008 R2 x64 Datacenter and added the virtualized 2003 onto the Hyper-V 2008 R2 Server. I got the server running fine except for... certain ip ranges. Local clients can get updates from the AV server from my 192.168.180.xxx & 192.168.181.xxx BUT NOT from any 192.168.182.xxx, 192.168.183.xxx, 192.168.184.xxx etc... I can not ping the server from any clients except for the 180. & 181. ranges. Now I created 2 other virtualized servers (win2008 & a win7 pro) and they exist on the same virtual host as the 2003 server. And at first I could not ping those until I went to the "\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings" and Turned On File and Print Sharing. Then I could ping and access those virtualized guests. Win2003 server isn't quite the same. But I am sure I have it on. But now when I ping from a client on one of those ranges that would not work I get this: As you can see the ping leaves our network. We have 2 ad/dns servers (one 180. & the other in the 181. range). Is it DNS? Both AD/DNS servers are Windows 2003. And we plan on upgrading both to 2008 R2 within a month or two but I need to fix this issue pronto (esp the AV end). btw, I did rename that 2003 Server (Spiceworks/AV) hostname. And I tried a CNAME. But I do not think that is the problem. EDIT: OR because this server existed on this hardware/computer before becoming virtualized?

  VMWare tools not installing on Ubuntu 12.04. I'm using Chef to manage the installation, but the Apt commands fail if run manually. I'm using the VMWare tool Debian repo. I've googled and googled but there is no answer to this question with my particular circumstances on the interwebs. VMWare's documentation of this error is minimal.

• Windows XP machine not seeing external FAT32 partitions correctly

  About 8 months ago my Windows XP machine stopped being able to see FAT32 external drives when I plug them in... mostly. I will explain... It happens with all my FAT32 drives, whether they be unpowered external hard drives, powered external hard drives, SDHC cards plugged directly into the machine's card reader, or SDHC cards plugged in via a separate USB card reader. All of these drives/cards used to work fine on this machine. They all stopped working at about the same time. NTFS volumes are not affected. If I plug in NTFS external drives they are recognized right away. I even have one external drive with two partitions on it, one is NTFS which is recognized, the other is FAT32, which is not recognized. If I attach a FAT32 drive, then reboot, then the drive almost always becomes visible to the machine after the reboot. Sometimes I can plug in a FAT32 drive and it works right away. Not often though. I'd say I get lucky more often with SDHC cards than hard drives. I'm developing a theory that I only get lucky with hard drives if I'm running Acronis Disk Director when I plug them in, though that usually doesn't work either - I need more data here, this may be a red herring. Getting lucky with a hard drive is really rare, usually I have to reboot. When a FAT32 is recognized, either because I got lucky or because I rebooted, I can almost never safely disconnect it. It tells me "The device 'Generic volume' cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later". I can't seem to get around this. IIRC, I've tried closing every open window, and still no luck. Since I care about my data usually the only way to disconnect a FAT32 drive is to shut down the machine. As you can imagine, two reboots just to read a drive is getting pretty old... When the machine fails to see a FAT32 drive it usually comes up with the appropriate drive letter and the words "Local Disk" in Windows Explorer instead of the correct partition name. If I click on it I get "J:\ is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect." Before this problem arose I always clicked the "safely remove" button for everything, including SDHC cards where I think it's not necessary. I've known for a long time that this is the correct procedure for hard drives, so I don't think failing to do this was the cause of this problem (before someone asks :) Any answers or suggestions most welcome.

• Vagrant - Failed login, ssh not set up

  This question is two fold because somewhere in my attempts to solve the problem, I created a new one. First: I was trying to vagrant up using a Vagranfile based on the standard hashicorp/precise32 box. Everything worked up until default: SSH auth method: private key where it would eventually time out. Enabling gui in the Vagrantfile showed that the machine never actually logs in. I can use the standard user/pass and log in from that point but the vagrant up process still remains at that prior status. Here's where my understanding might be a little dim. I've tried setting auth method from the insecure_pass_key to my root ~/.ssh/id_rsa or whichever one I wanted to use. I'm not entirely sure where to put a copy of the public key or my authorized keys file. I've got a .vagrant.d folder in my user dir (I'm on OSX) which seems to contain the box images. I've got a .vagrant folder in my directory with the Vagrantfile which seems to contain the specific machine I am building off of. I've tried pouring over the docs and forums but I seem to be missing a key concept here. And Now: After a host of tips/tricks such as rolling back by VirtualBox install, uninstalling/reinstalling Vagrant and VritualBox several times, when I try to run vagrant ssh-config with a Vagrantfile based on the same hashicorp/precise32 it says that the box is not enabled for SSH. Specifically, this error: The provider for this Vagrant-managed machine is reporting that it is not yet ready for SSH. Depending on your provider this can carry different meanings. Make sure your machine is created and running and try again. Additionally, check the output of `vagrant status` to verify that the machine is in the state that you expect. If you continue to get this error message, please view the documentation for the provider you're using. So now I am slightly up a creek. Any help would be appreciated if not just clarifying a concept. Some pertinent info: I'm on OSX Maverics Due to the fact I'm running a dual HD system with system files on one HD and user files on another, my permissions are a little wonky and VBoxManage will only let me run commands via Sudo - not sure if it's pertinent - but maybe. I have no idea what I'm doing. That part is perhaps more important.

There are of course dozens of examples of using virtual users with Dovecot, but all the ones we have found either refer to Dovecot 1.x (we are using 2.x), using only virtual users (we must use real AND virtual users) or want to use a MySQL db, we need to use a text file. Some hints about where we are going wrong would be very much appreciated.

• WinPE, Startnet.CMD and passing variables to second batch file not working

  I don't know scripting or PowerShell (yes I need to learn something). I'm not an expert batch file maker either. I have a WinPE flash drive which I used to deploy OS images. I have the WIM, drivers and anything needed else outside the WinPE environment to ensure that Updates, changes are easier for me to make. I use the "STARTNET.CMD" batch file which is part of the WinPE. The reason to go through the letter drives is that the WinPE always gets the X letter drive assigned. The flash drive itself can receive a random letter which always changes. My deployment menu is located on the flash drive it self and not inside the WinPE. This is so that if I need to make a change I don't have to re-do the WinPE. I am able to locate the "menu.bat" batch file and launch it. I use a variable to capture the letter drive. I call the second batch file named "menu.bat" and pass the variable to it. When the second batch file loads, I believe that I am calling the variable correctly. If I break out of the batch file I can echo the variable and see the expected reply. The issue is that I can't use the variable to work with anything on the second batch file. In my test, I can get this to work over and over. When it runs from the real USB flash drive it does not work. I removed comments from the second batch file to make it smaller. My issue is that files below all get a message stating that the system cannot find the path specified.   For 3 days now I've been unable to boot into my Windows 7 partition, and all my research has been to no avail. I'm hoping someone here has more ideas on how to fix this. When I boot up now, I get the black screen with BCD error that says theres no valid file system or it may be corrupt (pardon my lack of detail, no copy/paste is available then). When I boot with the Windows 7 disc and go into repair tools, no operating system is found, and attempting to automatically repair the problem fails with Unknown Operating System (Unknown Disk) or something similar. When I drop into the command prompt, I am able to see and navigate my C:\ drive without issue. I attempt to use bootrec: C:\> bootrec /ScanOS Finds C:\Windows as a system partition. C:\> bootrec /RebuildBCD Fails with volume does not contain a recognized file system. please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted. So then I attempt to fix the bootsector: C:\> bootsect /nt60 C: /force Which completes successfully (sorry, no output..) Upon rebooting, I have the same problem. I've also tried all of the above after making my Windows partition active: C:\> diskpart DISKPART> select disk 1 DISKPART> select partition 1 DISKPART> active DISKPART> exit Then bootrec as above, both with and without a reboot after the DISKPART commands. • Broadcom HT1100 SATA controller not working properly with 1TB drives

  I've been using RHEL distro's for several years and always managed to find the answers until now. I know this is more of a hardware issue, but I've been working on this for over a week and trust Linux and the IT community to help more then HP. I have CentOS 6.3 installed on an HP ProLiant DL145 G3 server with the BroadCom HT1100 IO controller and ServerWorks SATA Controller MMIO BIOS v3.0.0015.6 Firmware. This controller does not support large drives fully. Here's what I've tried and the results; Stock setup - Freezes on the ServerWorks POST screen. Can't even enter CMOS without disconnecting the drives. If I simply disconnect the SATA cables before it gets to the ServerWorks screen and reconnect afterwards I can boot from a CD, USB, PXE fine. However fiddling with cables at ever boot isn't practical. If I enter the BIOS config I can set it to not try booting the drives but leave the controller enabled. This lets me boot normally but the drives are not visible in the OS (live CDs or USB installed). I used method #2 to install and update CentOS. I have the /boot partition on a USB drive (everything else is on the SATA drives in software RAID1) hoping that would work around the issue but I get this Kernel panic - not syncing:Attempted to kill init! If anyone could help figure out how I would greatly appreciate it! The other possible option I've come across is a complex firmware update. Tyan has a few boards on their website with the HT1100 and a ServerWorks v3.0.0015.7 update which says "adds support for TB drives" in the release notes. If someone could help me get the Tyan SATA firmware into the HP ROM file so I could just reflash that would also be very much appreciated. Thanks for any help you guys can offer!

• Apache will not stop/start gracefully

  CentOs 6 64bit running apache 2.2.15-29.el6.centos. When I try to stop/start or restart httpd I get an error that says it has failed. A tail of the error log is below. I also noticed that a httpd.pid file is not created even though it is configured in the main conf file. If I set selinux to permissive, it works just fine. I do not want to run it with selinux disabled. If I delete the SSL_Mutex file it will start. HTTPD was running fine until I tried to add the ssl configuration. I copied over the ssl.conf file from a working server into the conf.d folder. I also copied a sslcert folder into the conf folder. It contains the certs, key, csr and password file. I think the problem has to do with the selinux context for the sslcert folder that was copied but I am not certain and not sure how to fix it.   We are currently deploying a WPF 4 app via click once and there is a scenario when the installation fails. If the user does not have .Net 4.0 Full install and attempts to install our app the framework installs fine but the app fails to install. If we re-run the installation again the app installs fine. • Why can i read dirty rows in MySql

  I cant believe this, i always throught the below would be concurrency safe. I write to a row in one transaction and i am able to read the dirty value from another transaction/command/connection! Why is this possible (not my main question) isnt this not desired and cause more troubles!?! Anyways, i expected that once i write to a row nothing else will be able to read to the row until the transaction is finished. And at least if the row can be still read that the clean (original) value will be read. (but maybe that would cause problems as well if the transaction doesnt use the newly commited data from the other transaction when it is ran) I would like count to == 11. I thought this would be safe in all variants of sql. • Why wont this sort in Solr work?

  I need to sort on a date-field type, which name is "mod_date". It works like this in the browser adress-bar: http://localhost:8983/solr/select/?&q=bmw&sort=mod_date+desc But I am using a phpSolr client which sends an URL to Solr, and the url sent is this: fq=+category%3A%22Bilar%22+%2B+car_action%3AS%C3%A4ljes&version=1.2&wt=json&json.nl=map&q=%2A%3A%2A&start=0&rows=5&sort=mod_date+desc // This wont work and is echoed after this in php: $queryString = http_build_query($params, null, $this->_queryStringDelimiter); $queryString = preg_replace('/%5B(?:[0-9]|[1-9][0-9]+)%5D=/', '=', $queryString); This wont work, I dont know why! Now, I have noticed that it is one of the parameters causing the 'SORT' not to work. This parameter is the "wt" parameter. If we take the url from top of this Q, (fq=+category%3A%22Bilar%22+%2B+car_action%3AS%C3%A4ljes&version=1.2&wt=json&json.nl=map&q=%2A%3A%2A&start=0&rows=5&sort=mod_date+desc), and just simply remove the "wt" parameter, then the sort works. BUT the results appear differently, thus making my php code not able to recognize the results I believe. Donovan would know this I think. I am guessing in order for the PHPClient to work, the results must be in a specific structure, which gets messed up as soon as I remove the wt parameter. Donovan, help me please... Here is some background what I use your SolrPhpClient for: I have a classifieds website, which uses MySql. But for the searching I am using Solr to search some indexed fields. Then Solr returns an array of ID:numbers (for all matches of the search criteria). Then I use those ID:numbers to find everything in a MySql db and fetch all other information (example is not searchable information). So simplified: Search - Solr returns all matches in an array of ID:nrs - Id:numbers from Solr are the same as the Id numbers in the MySql db, so I can just make a simple match agains every record with the ID matching the ID from the Solr results array. I don't use Faceting, no boosting, no relevancy or other fancy stuff. I only sort by the latest classified put, and give the option to users to also sort on the cheapest price. Nothing more. Then I use the "fq" parameter to do queries on different fields in Solr depending on category chosen by users (example "cars" in this case which in my language is "Bilar"). • Help with understanding why UAC dialog pops up on Win7 for our application

  We have a C++ unmanaged application that appears to cause a UAC prompt. It seems to happen on Win7 and NOT on Vista Unfortunately the UAC dlg is system modal so I can't attach a debugger to check in the code where it is, and running under msdev (we're using 2008) runs in elevated mode. We put a message box at the start of our program/winmain but it doesn't even get that far, so apparently this is in the startup code. What can cause a UAC notification so early and what other things can I do to track down the cause? EDIT Apparently the manifest is an important issue here, but it seems not to be helping me - or perhaps I am not configuring the manifest file correctly. Can someone provide a sample manifest? Also, does the linker/UAC magic figure out that the program "might" write to the registry and set its UAC requirements based on that? There are code paths that might trigger UAC, but we are not even at that point when the UAC dlg comes up. An additional oddity is that this does not seem to happen on Vista with UAC turned on.   We just setup some new Windows 2008 R2 servers and we are unable to Remote Desktop into them from our Windows 7 desktops. Remote desktop connects, but after we provide credentials we get: The connection cannot be completed because the remote computer that was reached is not the one you specified. This could be caused by an outdated entry in the DNS cache. Try using the IP address of the computer instead of the name. If we connect from Windows 7 to a machine not running Windows 2008 R2, or from a machine not running Windows 7 to the Windows 2008 R2 server, it works fine. Likewise if we connect to the Windows 2008 R2 server from Windows 7 via the IP address then it works fine (although that causes other problems later). I've only found one other mention of someone having this problem, so I don't think it is just our network. Any suggestions on how to connect from Windows 7 to Windows 2008 R2 via DNS? Both are 64-bit. Update: Turns out it does not need to be R2 to get the error. We have another server that is Windows 2008 R1 64-bit that also fails.

  I have a working copy, checked out from SVN repository. When i'm trying to commit, i get following error: svn: File not found: revision 57, path '/trunk/path/to/my/file/logo-mini.jpg' I've found this file in the repo and noticed, that it has only one revision - 58. I don't understand, why SVN complains about this file, when it is presented and why it points to revision 57 instead of 58 ? I've also renamed the grand-grand-grand-parent folder of this file. Possible, this is an issue ... Update Detailed error description, that i've got from Cornerstone app (Mac OS X): Description : Could not find the specified file. Even this does't helps. Still getting the same error. I've got no results.

• ESXi 4.1 host not recognising existing VMFS datastore

  Existing setup: host1 and host2, ESX 4.0, 2 HBAs each. lun1 and lun2, 2 LUNs belonging to the same RAID set (my terminology might be sketchy here). This has been working just fine all along. I added host3, ESXi 4.1, 2 HBAs. If I view Configuration / Storage Adapters, I can see that both HBAs see both LUNs, but if I view Configuration / Storage, I only see 1 datastore. host1/2 can see both LUNs and I have VMs running on both too. I have rescanned, refreshed and even rebooted, but host3 refuses to acknowledge 1 of the datastores. Does anyone know what's going on? Update: I re-installed the host with ESX (not i) 4.0, same version as the existing hosts and it's still not recognising the vmfs. I think I'm going to SVmotion everything off that datastore then format it. Update2: I've created the LUN from scratch and the problem gets even weirder. I've presented the LUN to all 3 hosts, and I can see the LUN in the vSphere client's Configuration / Storage Adapters section on all 3 hosts. If I create a datastore on the LUN via the Configuration / Storage section on host1, it works fine and I can create an empty folder via datastore browser, but the datastore is not seen by the host2 and host3. I can use the Add Storage wizard on host2 and it will see the LUN. At this point the "VMFS Label" column has the label I gave with "(head)" appended. If I try the Add Storage wizard's "Keep the existing signature" option, it fails with an error "Cannot change the host configuration." and a dialog box that says 'Call "HostStorageSystem.ResolveMultipleUnresolvedVmfsVolumes" for object "storageSystem-17" on vCenter Server "vcenter.company.local" failed.' If I try the Add Storage wizard's "Assign a new signature" option on host2, it will complete and the VMFS label will have "snap-(hexnumber)-" prepended. At this point its also visible on host3, but not host1. I have a similar setup in a different datacenter which didn't give me all this trouble.

  I'm getting a "pyserial not loaded" error with the python script fragment below (running OSX 10.7.4). I'm trying to run a python app called Myro for controlling the Parallax Scribbler2 robot - figured it would be a fun way to learn a bit of Python - but I'm not getting out of the gate here. I've searched out all the Myro help docs but like a lot in-progress open source programs, they are a moving target and conflicting, out of date, or not very specific about OSX. I have MacPorts installed and installed py27-serial without error. MacPorts lists the python versions I have installed, along with the active version: Available versions for python: none python24 python25 python25-apple python26 python26-apple python27 python27-apple (active) python32 Perhaps stuff is getting installed in the wrong places or my PATH is wrong (I don't much know what I am doing in Terminal and have probably screwed something up). • OpenSSL support for Ruby: "Cipher is not a module (TypeError)"

  The Problem Our systems admin needed to upgrade the packages on our CentOS 5.4 dev server to match the packages on our production server. The upgrade affected ruby and/or openssl. We run a Ruby on Rails issue tracking system called Redmine that is deployed with Passenger on Apache. Everything worked before the server update, but when trying to access the ticket system now, I get the following error: Error message: Cipher is not a module Exception class: TypeError Application root: /home/dev/rails/redmine-0.8.7 I've been trying so hard to fix this problem but I can't seem to beat it. I have tried following this guide: http://iamclovin.posterous.com/how-to-solve-the-cipher-is-not-a-module-error When I try require 'openssl' in IRB, I do see a true return value. However, I'm still seeing the Cipher.rb is not a module TypeError when accessing the ticket system. Possibly (probably) related: I've tried updating Passenger, but when I try passenger-install-apache2-module I see: Checking for required software... * GNU C++ compiler... found at /usr/bin/g++ * Ruby development headers... found * OpenSSL support for Ruby... /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/openssl/cipher.rb:22: Cipher is not a module (TypeError) Any help?

• Login box not shown on Ubuntu

  I've installed Ubuntu 10.04 (64bit) as a guest OS in VirtualBox, using Windows7 Professional (64bit) as host. After Ubuntu install, I did installed Xfce4 (sudo apt-get install xfce4). Logged in using a Xfce session, and when I logged out, I couldn't see the login box anymore, only the regular gnome background from login screen. Then I restarted the virtual machine, and now I'm not able to see the login box anymore, only the gnome background. Does someone knows how to solve this? Thanks in advance Update: I've tried to use Xubuntu, that comes with Xfce. And I'm facing the same problem. As a common denominator from the two cases, now I see the problem arises after I've updated the system, and then installed curl (via apt-get), zlib (make process), git (make process). But I'm not sure this can be the cause for this ... Update: I isolated the problem. The bad guy is zlib, but I don't have a clue why. In fact, it does crash not only ubuntu and xubuntu, but also Debian (Yes, I've tested all). I'll keep this question in case someone have the same problem, but I think my initial question is not valid anymore.

• Cisco 837 not passing UDP traffic properly (was: DNS query problem)

  We have a setup of ADSL line - Cisco 837 ADSL router - Zyxel ZyWall 35 firewall/NAT - Switch - LAN. It has been fine for years, suddenly DNS resolution stopped working from the LAN to public DNS servers. No changes that I know of, so I can't revert anything. Current behaviour: DNS requests from the LAN using TCP show up in the oubound firewall log, in the Cisco debug log, in the dns-server-firewall, in tcpdump on the DNS server, the answer comes back, it works fine. DNS requests from the LAN using UDP show up in the outbound firewall log, in the Cisco debug log, but does NOT show in the dns-server-firewall, not in tcpdump on the DNS server, times out. DNS requests from the Cisco using UDP show up in the dns-server-firewall and in tcpdump on the DNS server, answer received, works fine. netcat connections to port 53 or a random port by TCP show up in the dns-server-firewall netcat connections to port 53 or a random port by UDP do not show up in the dns-server-firewall Summary: TCP seems fine throughought. UDP works from the Cisco over the ADSL, and it works from the LAN to the Cisco, but it doesn't seem to cross the Cisco 837 properly. Update: confirmed with netcat that any UDP traffic from the LAN is affected, not just traffic to port 53. Update: If I change the firewall's external IP to any other IP in the subnet, this starts working. When I put it back, it stops working. I now suspect it's an ISP issue (does that sound plausible?), and am removing the Cisco config.

  We have an Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition installation (10.2.0.1.0) on a Windows Server 2003 virtual machine. It was initially created with Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 but has now been migrated to Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V. The services start on system boot, but the instance does not start up. Right now I have a horrible hack where I've created a Scheduled Task to run oradim -startup -sid ORCL when the Administrator account logs on, and set the VM to auto-logon. I'd still like to work out why it's not working.

• USB Wifi will not connect on Windows 7 (Even though the driver installs OK)

  Windows 7 will not connect to a WiFi Netowrk using a USB Network Adapter. I have 3 adapters, A Senoa SUB 364 (EXT), a Repeatit SU2410 USB V2 and a ZYXEL G202. All of these devices install OK on Windows 7 Home Premium on my Destop PC (64 bit) and on my Asus Wii Netbook (32 bit). In each case the adapter can be enabled/disabled and the driver properties says it is working correctly. When I try and connect to a network Windows 7 behaves as though the adapter does not exist and reports no networks. The Wii has an integrated adapter which works perfectly under Windows and connects to either of the 3 networks available to me. I have done all the checks I can on the configuration. What seems odd to me is that it happens to all 3 devices on 2 different windows 7 PCs both of which are working perfectly in any other respect. This suggests the common denominator is me and I must be doing something wrong.. what's also strange is that I cannot find any similar problems being reported on any of the forums. From what reading I've been able to do it seems like the new wifi virtualisation thingy in W7 is not recognising the adapters which suggests I', missing a configuration option somewhere. Looking forward to finding out if I'm not alone or just being stupid. Pete

• Not Able To Connect to Windows Server 2008 R2 using FileZilla Externally

  I configured FTP Service/Role on my Windows Server 2008 R2 machine. I am able to connect from the inside, but not from the outside. On the inside I tested using cmd prompt and IE FTP. On the outside, I am testing with FileZilla and IE FTP. From the outside, IE FTP prompts me to enter my username/pwd, but nothing happens. Page eventually times out and I get "Internet Explorer cannot display page". Using FileZilla, I get the following messages. Note FileZilla resolved domain name and authenticates. I did not configure FTP Wirewall Support on the FTP site. I am not sure if I need to do this. I set up basic authentication, non-ssl, not allowing anonymous. I testing with Windows Firewall Turned off and on (I added windows firewall rule for port 21). On my network firewall (Cisco), I added a rule to forward port 21 traffic to FTP Server.
