  • TXT file not showing properly in Android

    I developed an app for Android, that loads some data from some .txt files I created. Until now, everything went fine. Today I updated these texts to add some stuff, and now Android comes out with this error in the LogCat: 06-06 23:16:03.925: W/System.err(7999): java.lang.NumberFormatException: Invalid int: "?72" It never happened before. If I read the txt from my computer, I can see that all seems in the right place. But if I read it from the Android editor, I see strange symbols (close to that 72). I don't know how to remove them, because I cannot see them on the pc!

    How to simulating two client-controlled vehicles colliding (sensibly) in a typical client/server setup for a network game? I did read this eminent blog post on how to do distributed network physics in general (without traditional client prediction), but this question is specifically on how to handle collisions of owned objects. Example Say client A is 20 ms ahead of server, client B 300 ms ahead of server (counting both latency and maximum jitter). This means that when the two vehicles collide, both clients will see the other as 320 ms behind - in the opposite direction of the velocity of the other vehicle. Head-to-head on a Swedish highway means a difference of 16 meters/17.5 yards! What not to try It is virtually impossible to extrapolate the positions, since I also have very complex vehicles with joints and bodies all over, which in turn have linear and angular positions, velocities and accelerations, not to mention states from user input.

    I'm in a situation where I must output a quite large list of objects by a CharField used to store street addresses. My problem is, that obviously the data is ordered by ASCII codes since it's a Charfield, with the predictable results .. it sort the numbers like this; 1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 2, 20, 21.... Now the obvious step would be to change the Charfield the proper field type (IntegerField let's say), however it cannot work since some address might have apartments .. like "128A". I really don't know how I can order this properly ..

    This is for a homework assignment. I just plain don't understand how to do it. The instructions for this particular question is: List the branch name for all branches that have at least one book that has at least 4 copies on hand. Where the tables in question are: Branch: BranchName | BranchId Henry Downtown | 1 16 Riverview | 2 Henry On The Hill | 3 Inventory: BookId | BranchId | OnHand 1 | 1 | 2 2 | 3 | 4 3 | 1 | 8 4 | 3 | 1 5 | 1 | 2 6 | 2 | 3 From what I understand, I can get the number of OnHand per branch name with: SELECT BranchName, SUM(OnHand) FROM Branch B, Inventory I WHERE B.BranchId = I.BranchId GROUP BY BranchName; but I don't get how I'd do the comparison between the sum of OnHand per branch and 4. Any help would be appreciated, guys!

    I have a Stream object that occasionally gets some data on it, but at unpredictable intervals. Messages that appear on the Stream are well-defined and declare the size of their payload in advance (the size is a 16-bit integer contained in the first two bytes of each message). I'd like to have a StreamWatcher class which detects when the Stream has some data on it. Once it does, I'd like an event to be raised so that a subscribed StreamProcessor instance can process the new message. Can this be done with C# events without using Threads directly? It seems like it should be straightforward, but I can't get quite get my head around the right way to design this.

    I need to copy native (i.e. unmanaged) data (byte*) to managed byte array with C++/CLI (array). I tried Marshal::Copy (data is pointed to by const void* data and is dataSize bytes) array<byte>^ _Data=gcnew array<byte>(dataSize); System::Runtime::InteropServices::Marshal::Copy((byte*)data, _Data, 0, dataSize); This gives error C2665: none of the 16 overloads can convert all parameters. Then I tried System::Runtime::InteropServices::Marshal::Copy(new IntPtr(data), _Data, 0, dataSize); which produces error C2664: parameter 1 cannot be converted from "const void*" to "__w64 int". So how can it be done and is Marshal::Copy indeed the "best" (simplest/fastest) way to do so?

    I tried the option of students.item["http://www.myurl.com"].comments.data.length. However, the item["http://www.myurl.com"] call is not working. If I take out the URL from JSON object and write the iterator with students.comments.data, it works.     Hi, i am currently trying to implement a "third party framework" (FeedbackReporter.Framework) into my preferencepane. Unfortunately I am getting the following error all the time when trying to launch my preference pane: 16.05.10 23:13:30 System Preferences[32645] dlopen_preflight failed with dlopen_preflight(/Users/me/Library/PreferencePanes/myPane.prefPane/Contents/MacOS/myPane): Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/FeedbackReporter.framework/Versions/A/FeedbackReporter Referenced from: /Users/me/Library/PreferencePanes/myPane.prefPane/Contents/MacOS/myPane Reason: image not found for /Users/me/Library/PreferencePanes/myPane.prefPane As far as I read so far, this problem is probably caused because my prefPane is no actual app, but a "plugin" of "System Settings.app" and thus @executable_path resolves to a path within the bundle of this app, instead of the bundle of my prefpane. But I don't really picked up howto fix this problem. I guess it must be fairly easy since it should be a usual case that people use non-apple-frameworks in PreferencePanes. Thanks for your hints!

  • C program giving incorrect output for simple math!

    (all are declared as ints, none are initialized to anything beforehand. I have included math.h and am compiling with -lm) cachesize = atoi(argv[1]); blocksize = atoi(argv[3]); setnumber = (cachesize/blocksize); printf("setnumber: %d\n", setnumber); setbits = (log(setnumber))/(log(2)); printf("sbits: %d\n", setbits); when given cachesize as 1024 and blocksize as 16 the output is as follows: setnumber: 64 sbits: 5 but log(64)/log(2) = 6 ! It works correctly when given cachesize 512 and blocksize 32. I can't seem to win. I'm really hoping that it's a stupid mistake on my part, and I'd be grateful if anyone could point out what it is! Thank you! PS: I posted this in Yahoo Answers first but that was probably silly. Won't be doing that again.

I try to achieve this: I have column(nvarchar) with this: for ex.row1. 1;3;4;5,row2. 3;4;6 row3. 7;8;16 etc. I have list(of string) with 1,6. My goal is to get row1 and row2 in result set. I try with linq to entity and with linq to sql but i can't get this right. I stuck with this and any help would be appreciated... Tnx

    I'm trying to use an integer as the numerical representation of a string, for example, storing "ABCD" as 0x41424344. However, when it comes to output, I've got to convert the integer back into 4 ASCII characters. Right now, I'm using bit shifts and masking, as follows: int value = 0x41424344; string s = new string ( new char [] { (char)(value >> 24), (char)(value >> 16 & 0xFF), (char)(value >> 8 & 0xFF), (char)(value & 0xFF) }); Is there a cleaner way to do this? I've tried various casts, but the compiler, as expected, complained about it.

    I'm getting a KeyError for an out of dictionary key, even though I know the key IS in fact in the dictionary. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? print G.keys() returns the following: ['24', '25', '20', '21', '22', '23', '1', '3', '2', '5', '4', '7', '6', '9', '8', '11', '10', '13', '12', '15', '14', '17', '16', '19', '18'] but when I try to access a value in the dictionary on the next line of code... for w in G[v]: #note that in this example, v = 17 I get the following error message: KeyError: 17 Any help, tips, or advice are all appreciated.     Does MySql 5.1 and SQL Server 2008 (Web edition, Standard) have any functional password limitations other than length limits? Are metacharacters in any form a bad idea to use, like bang, pipe, hash, any slash, carrot, and so on? I know that MySql 5.1 has a password length limitation of 16 characters that is hardcoded, but I was wondering, are any metacharacters (i.e. non alphanumerics) a bad idea to use? And is this true in SQL Server 2008 Web edition, Standard? So specifically: can symbols like: /`~:}{[]^ be used successfully? I would hope it doesn't matter to the database, but I don't understand enough about password storage in enterprise database systems yet to know for sure, and I was looking for confirmation or an explanation.

    im an intern at a database mngmt company and the boss is training me in access...i took the access tutorials and were definitely not enough info involved to do a what seems a simple task.my problem is this: i have a simple table with contact info with 16 colums (Local_Utility, Requested_User_Type, First_Name, Last_Name, Address 1, Address 2, Country, State, City, Zip, Phone_Number, Username\Email, Password, Confirm Password, and Parcel_Number), with 6 rows of names (keep in mind this is just a test to help me from the boss) I created a form and with 2 drop down boxes (Last Name and State) and im trying to create a view button to view an individual report for a query i made for just simple contact info with 6 colums (Last_Name, First_Name, Address1, City, State, and Phone_Number) Problem1 is that i can view the query with the view by name or state button but cant view a simple individual report from the query using the button Problem2 is that for criteria on the query i put Forms!frmMyparamForm!txtMyStateParamField for the state drop box it works, but when i use Forms!frmMyparamForm!txtMyNameParamField it doesnt and that annoying parameter box pops up Problem3 is that after i close the query, all the states and names in my dropdown box on the form disappear Im a beginner at this please help me
