  • How to Develop CPython Applications With Visual Studio?

    - by user213060
I would like to know how to use Visual Studio with CPython (the official python.org python interpreter, not IronPython). In particular, I am interested in getting "build" and "run" commands in Visual Studio working. Other features such as color highlighting and auto-complete, I am less concerned about. Also, can the "build" command be made to run py2exe or similar exe packagers?

  • ORM market analysis

    - by bonefisher
I would like to see your experience with popular ORM tools outhere, like NHibernate, LLBLGen, EF, S2Q, Genom-e, LightSpeed, DataObjects.NET, OpenAccess, ... From my exp: - Genom-e is quiet capable of Linq & performance, dev support - EF lacks on some key features like lazy loading, Poco support, pers.ignorance... but in 4.o it may have overcome .. - DataObjects.Net so far good, althrough I found some bugs - NHibernate steep learning curve, no 100% Linq support (like in Genom-e and DataObjects.Net), but very supportive, extensible and mature

  • C99 and floating point environment

    - by yCalleecharan
Hi, I was looking at new features of C99 and saw the floating point environment: #include <fenv.h> My question is simple. If I'm performing floating point number computations, do I have to include the above preprocessor directive in my code? If no, then what does this directive do and when does it become important to include? Thanks a lot...

  • Recording purchased products from in-app store for built-in products

    - by Joey
I'm creating an in-app store for a few built-in features for my iphone app. Apple's documention recommends using the Application Preferences for storing this, but another question in this forum suggested using NSUserDefaults for another task for which Application Preferences was recommended (by Apple). Can someone clarify if, for in-app store purchases, using the NSUserDefaults is a much better way to go? Thanks.

  • Host a project on Github and Google Code

    - by Abhi Beckert
Is it possible to have a project hosted on Github and google code? I've been using Google Code for years, and recently started playing with GitHub. I like GitHub a lot, but there's also a long list of Google Code features I really miss. Is it possible/feasible to host a single project on both? Can I use github as the primary repository for my source, but have all revisions automatically sent over to a git repository on Google Code?

  • How do I use SVN effectively?

    - by Tim Rogers
I have an SVN repository that I've set up on my VPS, and I know all the basics (update, commit), but I don't know what all the other options mean. I am running TortoiseSVN on Windows (which is great!) and can see all these features like branching, locking, merging and patching! What do all these things mean? Is there anywhere with a good guide about how all the little bits and pieces in SVN work? Thanks, Tim

  • integrating two systems through email

    - by Martin
I want to integrate our bug tracker system and our Support system through emails. The bug tracker can kick out an email on every change to bugs/features. I want to download those emails, parse them and create a formatted email that the Support system can understand (ie the subject could be "Issue #4128 fixed"). What is the simplest way to accomplish this using C++ or C#?

  • Help w/ Sluggish "rake cucumber"

    - by Eric M.
I've been trying to debug some super slow performance in running my cucumber features. I've run various calls through ruby-prof and think I see the bottlenecks (not too familiar with using ruby-prof) but do not know the cause or more important the solution. I've include below the output from running rake cucumber. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1788885/rake_cucumber.txt Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or how I could go about debugging it further? Thanks, Eric

  • How to extend/patch an existing module or package?

    - by nat
I want to extend some locale-specific features of a python application named OpenERP. All I need is implementing a third party module.function that would be called every time OpenERP calls locale.setlocale() function without changing neither OpenERP nor locale module source code. The only way I can imagine is provide a module named locale.py inside main application package dir, but It seems that is an unpythonic workaround.

  • Looking for exercises to learn SQL, using the Northwind database

    - by MedicineMan
I am trying to become more familiar with SQL by writing queries against the Northwind database. I am looking for some exercises that would help me to learn SQL and features of SQL Server. It is important that the exercises have solutions, and in complicated cases, it would be great if there was an explanation for the query. Thanks for the answers so far but I still have not found what I am looking for: Is there any free resource, available online, without registration, that I can find a list of these exercises?
