  With the following simple mark-up, I get very strange behaviour in FF and IE8. If I give the textbox focus, and tab out, nothing happens. If I give a user name value, and erase it immediately, nothing happens. However, only when I supply a user name, tab away, the erase it and tab away again, do I finally get a red star "required" mark. The summary doesn't show at all.

But the problem is that say for example the user name is 'dhiraj' in the database, now the login is successful by entering the user name, but it is also allowing to enter by taking the user name in uppercase also, e.g., 'DHIRAJ'. I want to restrict it to as it in the database. Can you tell me how to achieve that in hibernate?

• Can't change Joomla Default language

  On this site http://www.bostonteaclub.com I want the default language to be Chinese. I set the default language to Chinese in the backend (it's got the star next to it) but when you went to the page you probably noticed that the site is in english. If you check the source code you will see on the very bottom hidden a var_dump of the language object, and by the looks of it the default is still en-GB ["_default"]=> string(5) "en-GB" Why is this? After it has finished grabbing anything new i'd like to change the emblem of ~/Videos to add a plus or star (nautilus emblem preferably) Do i go about this via nautilus? • Make a mouse pointer do a hyper-jump?

  I run a dual monitor setup. To get from monitor 1 to 2 (or vice-versa) requires lots of unnecessary mouse movement. My thought was to leverage a extra mouse button (I have two) and have the mouse hyper-jump (apologies to Star Trek) from the XY coordinates on monitor 1 to the same XY coordinates on monitor 2. How would I go about doing this? Could it be done via C#?

  I've successfully used the Windows SendMessage method to help me do various things in my text editor, but each time I am just copying and pasting code suggested by others, and I don't really know what it means. There is always a cryptic message number that is a parameter. How do I know what these code numbers mean so that I can actually understand what is happening and (hopefully) be a little more self-sufficient in the future? Thanks.   I get this cryptic error the first time (and only the first time) my view is loaded due to the following line of code: - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [textField becomeFirstResponder]; } There is a noticeable (~3 – 4 second, even on the simulator) delay due to this that makes my app feel unresponsive. Does anyone know how to fix this? I can't find any documentation on it on Apple's site, or any solutions here or on Google. Strangely, the opposite situation happens if I put the line in -viewDidAppear: instead of -viewWillAppear:; that is, instead of printing the error only the first time the keyboard is shown and never again, the error is not printed the first time but every time after. This is causing a major headache for me.

  Hello Is there some C/C++ IDE for windows, which is integrated with LLVM compiler (and clang C/C++ analyzer), just like modern Xcode do. I have Dev-Cpp (it uses outdated gcc) and Code::Blocks (with some gcc). But Gcc gives me very cryptic error messages. I want to get some more user-friendly error messages from clang frontend. Yes, clang was not able to be used with complex C++ code, but trunk clang already can compile LLVM itself. So I wonder if is there any of llvm IDEs in development or in beta versions. Thanks.

  We allow people to enter HTML code on our wiki-like site. But only a limited subset of HTML to not affect our styling and not allow malicious javascript code. Is there a good Java library on the server side to ensure that the code entered is valid? We tried creating an XML Schema document to validate against. The only issue there is the libraries we used to validate gave back cryptic error messages. What I want is for the validation library to actually fix the issue (if there was a style="" attribute added to an element, remove it). If fixing it is not easy, at least allow me to report a message to the user with the location of the error (an error code that I can present a nice message from is fine, probably even preferable).

  I have a security certificate linked to a CDN's server. The main website is https:www.connect4fitness.com When I pull the site up in firefox or chrome, everything works fine. But in IE I get the following error: "Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors." On IE 9 it shows the button "Display Content" and you can get past the error by clicking on the button. On older versions on I the error message is much more cryptic and is confusing users. Please note that I don't have the option of asking end users to add the site to Trusted Sources as some folks use the site from their work computers and do not have that access. Also, some people don't bother to call once they hit the error. I have looked at the content and all my links are "https" only. I had one namespace link and I got rid of it. Any idea about how I can find what is triggering this message?

• How do you test your blackberry application on the device?

  This may sound very noobish, but I can't seem to get my app to my blackberry. I was trying to follow the beginning blackberry development book's guide, but maybe I just missed the point somewhere. For remote download, Is it really as simple as drop the COD and JAD files in the same folder on your server then just navigate to the URL with your device's browser? The book says it should prompt a download screen, but all I get is a page full of cryptic characters. My app is a simple slideshow. Uses no signed things and is not MDS enabled. Did I forget something? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

• Datacontracts property getter running twice

  I have a set of data contracts that act as wrappers to base classes that we wish to expose. A quick example is: [DataMember] public List<decimal> Points { get { return sourceObject.ListPoints(); } private set{} } We have some other properties that we have to massage the data first (we are converting object graphs and need to guard against circular references). The issue that we are seeing is that this getter will fire twice, once within the service operation, then again during serialization. This is causing two problems: We manually add to collections, since this is running twice the collections are filled with dupes. If an exception is thrown during the second run, it happens outside of the try/catch in the operation, and does not throw a fault. The service throws a cryptic timeout message, and the only way to see the error is via WCF trace logs.

• f# naming conventions.. WTF??!!

  let w t f = have I missed something? do all value names in F# have to be a single char? preferably x? and do all method names have to abbreviated to a cryptic four chars?? we've had it rammed down our throats for years about descriptive variable/method names in other languages but now this doesnt apply to F#? or it is some coding 'style' bollox? Learning from code examples is hard enough with type inference. why make it harder?

• Can you explain to me git reset in plain english?

  I have seen interesting posts explaining subtleties about git reset. Unfortunately, the more I read about it, the more it appear that I don't understand it fully. I come from a SVN background and git is a whole new paradigm. I got mercurial easily, but git is much more technical. I think git reset is close to hg revert, but it seems there are differences. So what exactly does git reset do? Please include detailed explanations about: the options --hard, --soft and --merge; the strange notation you use with HEAD such as HEAD^ and HEAD~1; concrete use cases and workflows; consequences on the working copy, the HEAD and your global stress level. I will put a bounty on this ASAP cause it's really important and I find the git doc cryptic. Holly blessing and tons of chocolate/beer/name_your_stuff to the guy who makes a no-brainer answer :-)
