  • Update php 5.2.0 to 5.2.4 with aptitude

    Hi guy, I would like to update my php 5 in my server. At this moment, I use php 5.2.0 so I want to update it to php 5.2.4 (not php 5.3). I tried to do this: aptitude update aptitude upgrade 63 packets were updated but not php which is always in 5.0 How can I update my php please ?   • Installed Apache. Bash: 'service httpd status' does nothing,

    I just installed Apache 2 on CentOS5 from source (httpd-2.2.15.tar.gz) using: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache make make install /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start I have verified that httpd is running in ps, and verified it is serving the default htdocs page. However, Apache is not found in 'service --status-all' and is not found in '/etc/init.d', so I cannot run 'service httpd status' or '/etc/init.d/httpd start', and other commands. Any ideas what I am missing?

    I'm using Ubuntu, as many proxy applications, GNOME Network Proxy Preferences only allow to ignore hosts. What I want to do is exactly the opposite. I only want to use the proxy for few sites. Is it possible to define only the allowed hosts in any way? PS: I know FoxyProxy add-on for Firefox does this, but 1)I don't use Firefox and 2)I want the proxy settings system wide not only for browser.

So basically, if I have these lines: This is not a test This is a test Maybe a test Definitely not a test And I run the script with 'not', I need to entirely delete lines 1 and 4. I've been trying with: PS C:\Users\Admin (Get-Content "D:\Logs\co2.txt") | Foreach-Object {$_ -replace "3*Program*", ""} | Set-Content "D:\Logs\co2.txt" but it only replaces the 'Program' and not the entire line.

  • Ubuntu - Ruby Daemon script creates two processes - sh and ruby - PID file points at sh, not ruby

    The PID file for a ruby process I have running as a daemon is getting the wrong PID. It appears that running /etc/init.d/sinatra start creates two processes - sh and ruby, and the PID that ends up in the PID file is that of the sh process. This means that when I then run /etc/init.d/sinatra stop or /etc/init.d/sinatra restart, it is killing sh and leaving the ruby process still running. I'd like to know a) why is my script launching two processes - sh and ruby, and not just ruby, and b) how do I fix it to just launch ruby? Details of the setup: I have a small Sinatra server set up on an ubuntu server, running as a daemon. It is set to automatically at server startup run a script named sinatra in /etc/init.d that launches the a control script control.rb, which then runs a ruby daemon command to start the server. The script is run under the 'sinatrauser' account, which has permissions for the directories the script needs. contents of /etc/init.d/sinatra #!/bin/bash # sinatra Startup script for Sinatra server. sudo -u sinatrauser ruby /var/www/sinatra/control.rb $1 RETVAL=$? exit $RETVAL To install this script, I simply copied it to /etc/init.d/ and ran sudo update-rc.d sinatra defaults contents of /var/www/sinatra/control.rb require 'rubygems' require 'daemons' pwd = Dir.pwd Daemons.run_proc('sinatraserver.rb', {:dir_mode => :normal, :dir => "/opt/pids/sinatra"}) do Dir.chdir(pwd) exec 'ruby /var/www/sinatra/sintraserver.rb >> /var/log/sinatra/sinatraOutput.log 2>&1' end portion of output from ps -A 6967 ? 00:00:00 apache2 10181 ? 00:00:00 sh <--- PID file gets this PID 10182 ? 00:00:02 ruby <--- Actual ruby process running Sinatra 12172 ? 00:00:00 sshd The PID file gets created in /opt/pids/sinatra/sinatraserver.rb.pid, and always contains the PID of the sh instance, which is always one less than the PID of the ruby process EDIT: I tried micke's solution, but it had no effect on the behavior I am seeing.     Our office XP computer crashed this afternoon. I know that we had Norton Ghost doing regular backups on an external hard drive. My question is how do you restore from that backup? PS. When I plug in the external drive into my own Windows 7 machine it has two folders: - 9c590f17be2ef53d13bb00be2a - Norton Backups I can't open the first one (it says I don't have permissions) but the second one contains a bunch of files with the .v2i extension. Any help would be appreciated?

    I'm trying to get Thunderbird to be my default application to subscribe to feed that I visit in firefox. I "choose application" and put in the path of Thunderbird executable C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe And it doesn't work, asks me to close Thunderbird It's strange that Firefox has Outlook as a selectable option which works flawlessly but its own brother Thunderbird isn't even on the list of defaults. PS: And when I have Thunderbird closed and then do the above, it starts the Thunderbird and puts the feed in whatever folder it likes without even asking me.

    My goal is to implement APC for opcode cache for a drupal 6 production site. I have so far tested APC with several php files with and without including other php files with include_once. Also tried to tweak the apc.ini values for shm_size, apc.include_once_override and apc.stat. Restarted apache every time. Resulting in apc.php not showing any changes in any values. Is there a way to check if the file permissions prevent the apc stay running? I'm tremendously grateful for any suggestions or help.

    I have two routers, both wireless, that i wish to connect together. As it stands Router A is connected via a micro filter into the phone line which i access the web wirelessly. What I want to achieve is to connect Router B to A so I can hardwire My TV and Sky (cable) Box into B and simultaneously browse the web wirelessly via router A. Is this possible?     I tried killing Firefox 3.5 from OSX command line using "kill -9 pid", and the process was still running mini-2:~ prompt$ ps -ef | grep firefox 501 15087 183 0 0:00.00 ?? 0:00.00 (firefox-bin) After this, I could not start firefox (as it said Firefox is already running) nor can I kill firefox (again). What is going on? How can I fix this (besides logging of or restarting my machine) ?

    I have a an Android phone synced with GMail account, once or twice all my contacts where deleted from both. Fortunately I had a CSV backup of those contacts, unfortunately I made custom avatars for some of those contacts, and these are gone. How to do a complete backup of contacts (with avatars) so they can be kept safe? PS. I occasionally use Outlook 2007 via IMAP connection, maybe it can be utilized somehow?
