  • JS: Why isn't this variable available to the other functions?

    - by Marius Jonsson
Hello there, I've am trying to make a canvas animation: var context; var meter; var pin; function init() { var meter = new Image(); var pin = new Image(); var context = document.getElementById('canvas').getContext('2d'); meter.src = 'background.png'; pin.src = 'needle.png'; context.drawImage(meter,0,0); context.translate(275,297); context.save(); setTimeout(startup,500); } function startup() { var r=2; // set rpm here. var i=r*36-27; var angleInRadians = 3.14159265 * i/180; //converting degree to radian context.rotate(angleInRadians); //rotating by angle context.drawImage(pin,-250,-3); //adjusting pin center at meter center context.restore(); } You can see the script at http://www.kingoslo.com/instruments/ With firebug I get error saying that context is undefined, which I think is strange. Thanks. Kind regards, Marius

  • Change the Session Variable Output

    - by user567230
Hello I am using Dreamweaver CS5 with Coldfusion 9 to build a dynamic website. I have a MS Access Database that stores login information which includes ID, FullName, FirstName, LastName, Username, Pawword, AcessLevels. My question is this: I currently have session variable to track the Username when it is entered into the login page. However I would like to use that Username to pull the User's FullName to display throughout the web pages and use for querying data. How do I change the session variable to read that when they are not entering their FullName on the login page but only Username and password. I have listed my login information code below if there is any additional information needed please let me know. This is the path for which the FullName values reside DataSource "Access" Table "Logininfo" Field "FullName" I want the FullName to be unique based on the Username submitted from the Login page. I apologize in advance for any rookie mistake I may have made I am new to this but learning fast! Ha. <cfif IsDefined("FORM.username")> <cfset MM_redirectLoginSuccess="members_page.cfm"> <cfset MM_redirectLoginFailed="sorry.cfm"> <cfquery name="MM_rsUser" datasource="Access"> SELECT FullName, Username,Password,AccessLevels FROM Logininfo WHERE Username=<cfqueryparam value="#FORM.username#" cfsqltype="cf_sql_clob" maxlength="50"> AND Password=<cfqueryparam value="#FORM.password#" cfsqltype="cf_sql_clob" maxlength="50"> </cfquery> <cfif MM_rsUser.RecordCount NEQ 0> <cftry> <cflock scope="Session" timeout="30" type="Exclusive"> <cfset Session.MM_Username=FORM.username> <cfset Session.MM_UserAuthorization=MM_rsUser.AccessLevels[1]> </cflock> <cfif IsDefined("URL.accessdenied") AND false> <cfset MM_redirectLoginSuccess=URL.accessdenied> </cfif> <cflocation url="#MM_redirectLoginSuccess#" addtoken="no"> <cfcatch type="Lock"> <!--- code for handling timeout of cflock ---> </cfcatch> </cftry> </cfif> <cflocation url="#MM_redirectLoginFailed#" addtoken="no"> <cfelse> <cfset MM_LoginAction=CGI.SCRIPT_NAME> <cfif CGI.QUERY_STRING NEQ ""> <cfset MM_LoginAction=MM_LoginAction & "?" & XMLFormat(CGI.QUERY_STRING)> </cfif> </cfif>

  • How to access global variable in a view in Ruby on Rails?

    - by ben
I have a User model. I have a Session controller, in which I have a global user variable that is assigned as follows: $user = User.authenticate(params[:session][:email], params[:session][:password]) (I've made user global just to try to solve this problem, so if there's a better way please let me know!) I need to use the email of the logged in user as a parameter to send to Flex part of my website. At the moment I'm creating the link as follows: <%= link_to "secondpage", secondpage_path(:email => @session.$user.email) But I'm getting the following error: compile error /Users/benhartney/rails_projects/talk/app/views/layouts/_header.html.erb:12: syntax error, unexpected tGVAR ..._path(:email = @session.$user.email) ).to_s); @output_buffe... There's also a little arrow pointing at $user If I remove the $ from $user, I get this error: undefined method `user' for nil:NilClass If I remove the (:email => @session.user.email) part, everything works fine, so I think all of the code except for this is ok. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for reading!

  • Set environment variable in Ubuntu

    - by Junho Park
In Ubuntu, I'd like to switch my JAVA_HOME environment variable back and forth between Java 5 and 6. I open a terminal and type in the following to set the JAVA_HOME environment variable: export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun And in that same terminal window, I type the following to check that the environment variable has been updated: echo $JAVA_HOME And I see /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun which is what I'm expecting to see. In addition, I modify ~/.profile and set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun. And now for the problem--when I open a new terminal window and I check my JAVA_HOME environment variable by typing in echo $JAVA_HOME I see that my JAVA_HOME environment variable has been reverted back to Java 6. When I reboot my machine (or log out and back in, I suppose) the JAVA_HOME environment variable is set to Java 5 (presumably because of the modification I made in my ~/.profile). Is there a way around this so that I can change my JAVA_HOME environment without having to log out and back in (AND make that environment variable change stick in all new terminal windows)?

  • Objective-C global array of ints not working as expected

    - by Fran
    In my MyConstants.h file... I have: int abc[3]; In my matching MyConstants.m file... I have: extern int abc[3] = {11, 22, 33}; In each of my other *.m files... I have #import "MyConstants.h" Inside 1 of my viewDidLoad{} methods, I have: extern int abc[]; NSLog(@"abc = (%d) (%d)", abc[1], sizeof(abc)/sizeof(int)); Why does it display "abc = (0) (3)" instead of "abc = (22) (3)"? How do I make this work as expected?

  • Is it good practice to use std::size_t all over the place?

    - by dehmann
I have a lot of constants in my code that are unsigned numbers, e.g. counters, frequency cutoffs, lengths, etc. I started using std::size_t for all of these, instead of int or unsigned int. Is that the right thing to do? I started it because the STL containers use it for their sizes, it's used for string position, etc.

  • How can i set isdigit() command as a variable?

    - by Nick
I'm new to python but I caught on to the basics pretty quick and decided to start trying to make a program while I'm still learning, since I learn best by actually doing things. So I'm making a program in python that will add polynomials and I need to see if a character from the parser is numeric im using the isdigit() command. Instead of having to type isdigit() all the time in my code such as n.isdigit(), I want to assign it to a variable t = 'isdigit()' and then type n.t. This doesn't work, so is there an alternative to not typing the whole command?

  • Problem Passing Variable to Submit Form in Firefox

    - by George
In the following example, I have a link that sends a variable to a function which checks if the variable is true and, if so, submits a form on the page. This has been tested and works in IE, Safari, and Chrome, but not Firefox. Trying to figure out what's wrong in Firefox. The function which checks 'action' and then submits form 'login' : function submit(action) { if (action == "submit") { document.login.submit(); } } Link to pass action variable and submit form: <a href="javascript:submit('submit');">SEND FORM</a> When I remove the check and just have the following, it works fine in Firefox: function submit() { document.login.submit(); } <a href="javascript:submit();">SEND FORM</a>

  • log4bash: Cannot find a way to add MaxBackupIndex to this logger implementation

It looks like the issue is due to the following line not working properly: builtin eval export $previousFilenameVar=$filename I have a some theories to explain why: in the original code, functions are declared and exported as readonly which makes them unable to modify global variable. I removed readonly declarations in the above sample, but probleme persists. Function calls are performed in $() which should make them run into seperated shell instances so variable modified are not exported to the main shell But I cannot manage to find a workaround to this issue... Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

  • Inline function and global variable issue in Javascript

    - by Natim
I have some code here : http://bitbucket.org/natim/lo53_tp1/src/tip/part3/camions/medias/js/tracking.js That I use to draw some information about trucks direction. The problem come from a function defined in a for loop like this one : ... for(i = 0; i < nb_trucks; i++) { ... contentString = '<div id="content">'+ trucks[i]['name'] + '</div>'; current_window = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: contentString }); infosWindow.push(current_window); current_marker = new google.maps.Marker({ map: map, position: new google.maps.LatLng(trucks[i]['end']['lat'], trucks[i]['end']['lon']), draggable: false, title: trucks[i]['name'] }); markers.push(current_marker); google.maps.event.addListener(current_marker, 'click', function() { current_window.open(map, current_marker); }); } In this code, you can see the last block google.maps.event.addListener(current_marker, 'click', function() { current_window.open(map, current_marker); }); And my problem is that current_marker in the addListener parameters is different from the one inside the function. The current_window and the current_marker inside the function is overide at each loop turn. How can I get it right ? Thanks

  • Saving data in custom class via AppDelegate

    - by redspike
I can't seem to save data to a custom instance object in my AppDelegate. My custom class is very simple and is as follows: Person.h ... @interface Person : NSObject { int _age; } - (void) setAge: (int) age; - (int) age; @end Person.m #import "Person.h" @implementation Person - (void) setAge:(int) age { _age = age; } - (int) age { return _age; } @end I then create an instance of Person in the AppDelegate class: AppDelegate.h @class Person; @interface AccuTaxAppDelegate : NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate> { ... Person *person; } ... @property (nonatomic, retain) Person *person; @end AppDelegate.m ... #import "Person.h" @implementation AccuTaxAppDelegate ... @synthesize person; - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { // Override point for customization after app launch [window addSubview:[navigationController view]]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; } - (void)applicationWillTerminate:(UIApplication *)application { // Save data if appropriate } #pragma mark - #pragma mark Memory management - (void)dealloc { [navigationController release]; [window release]; [person release]; [super dealloc]; } @end Finally, in my ViewController code I grab a handle on AppDelegate and then grab the person instance, but when I try to save the age it doesn't seem to work: MyViewController ... - (void)textFieldDidEndEditing:(UITextField *)textField { NSString *textAge = [textField text]; int age = [textAge intValue]; NSLog(@"Age from text field::%i", age); AppDelegate *appDelegate = (AppDelegate *)[UIApplication sharedApplication].delegate; Person *myPerson = (Person *)[appDelegate person]; NSLog(@"Age before setting: %i", [myPerson age]); [myPerson setAge:age]; NSLog(@"Age after setting: %i", [myPerson age]); [textAge release]; } ... The output of the above NSLogs are: [Session started at 2010-05-04 18:29:22 +0100.] 2010-05-04 18:29:28.260 AccuTax[16235:207] Age in text field:25 2010-05-04 18:29:28.262 AccuTax[16235:207] Age before setting: 0 2010-05-04 18:29:28.263 AccuTax[16235:207] Age after setting: 0 Any ideas why 'age' isn't being stored? I'm relatively new to Obj-C so please forgive me if I'm missing something very simple!

  • Pass a variable into a trigger

    - by Codesleuth
I have a trigger which deals with some data for logging purposes like so: CREATE TRIGGER trgDataUpdated ON tblData FOR UPDATE AS BEGIN INSERT INTO tblLog ( ParentID, OldValue, NewValue, UserID ) SELECT deleted.ParentID, deleted.Value, inserted.Value, @intUserID -- how can I pass this in? FROM inserted INNER JOIN deleted ON inserted.ID = deleted.ID END How can I pass in the variable @intUserID into the above trigger, as in the following code: DECLARE @intUserID int SET @intUserID = 10 UPDATE tblData SET Value = @x PS: I know I can't literally pass in @intUserID to the trigger, it was just used for illustration purposes.

  • Sharing variable within different javascript file at client side

    - by Aman
I was actually going through this link. which explains how we can share global variable across multiple js. but the point is what need to be done if I am getting some variable into one js and need to pass to another one mentioned in same document after the 1st one. approach which followed was: Script 1 <script type="text/javascript" src="js/client.js"></script> body added some hidden input with id myHiddenId, where values are set using client.js Script 2 <script type="text/javascript" src="js/anotherJS.js"></script> inside script 2 I am simply using $("#myHiddenId").val(); and using for my purpose. I want to know whether I am following correct approach, because that hidden field may have some data which client should not get aware of. is there any other way through which I can pass the variable values across the js files ? Since I am at beginner level hence digging up some resources/books but still no luck.

  • understanding list[i-1] vs list[i]-1

    - by user3720527
Hopefully this is a simple answer that I am just failing to understand. Full code is public static void mystery(int[] list) { for( int i = list.length - 1; i>1; i --) { if (list[i] > list[i - 1]) { list[i -1] = list[i] - 2; list[i]++; } } } } and lets say we are using a list of [2,3,4]. I know that it will output 2,2,5 but I am unclear how to actually work through it. I understand that the list.length is 3 here, and I understand that the for loop will only run once, but I am very unclear what happens at the list[i - 1] = list[i] - 2; area. Should it be list[2-1] = list[2] - 2? How does the two being outside the bracket effect it differently? Much thanks.

  • Variable not implementing correctly from if statement

    - by swiftsly
I have an if statement that is supposed to set the variable $pc162v to a link specified in the MySQL table if content exists in the $vid column of the row. The problem is, the PHP is detecting that there's a link in the MySQL, but isn't setting the $pc162v variable correctly. Here's the variable declarations: $pc162v = ""; $vid162 = '<embed width="420" height="236" src="'.$pc162v.'" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed>'; Here's the section of the if statement: if (empty($row[7])) { $vid162 = ''; } else { $pc162v = $row[7]; } In my web browsers, the part of the code where the variable $vid162 is used, shows up as the following: <embed width="420" height="236" src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"> I have also tried setting $vid162 to: <embed width="420" height="236" src="<?php echo $pc162v; ?>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed> and that just makes the code in my web browser: <embed width="420" height="236" src="<?php echo $pc162v; ?>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"> Hope someone has a solution! Thanks in advance.

  • What is the best method to convert to an Integer in JavaScript?

There are several different methods for converting floating point numbers to Integers in JavaScript. My question is what method gives the best performance, is most compatible, or is considered the best practice? Here are a few methods that I know of: var a = 2.5; window.parseInt(a); // 2 Math.floor(a); // 2 a | 0; // 2 I'm sure there are others out there. Suggestions?

  • Is there any short way to load data to the properties of a class, for each column name matching the properties of the class?

    - by Ugur Gümüshan
I want to load data to an instance of an object using its constructor and I write $this->property=$row["colname"] each time for each property. the mysql_fetch_object function fetches the data as an object but I am not sure if the instance of an object can be assigned to some object from inside. othwerwise I would use __construct($object) { $this=$object; } //doesn't give any syntax error Maybe I should look into iteration of properties and use foreach($object as $key => $value) $value=$object[$key]; or can I assign like $this=$object; within the constructor?
