  • Way to know if two partitions are in one physical hard disk without WMI?

    - by Alon
Hey. I have those partitions (in Windows) for example: Hard Disk 1 - Partition C, Partition D Hard Disk 2 - Partition E Is there any way in a program language to know if for example partition C and partition D are in one physical hard disk without WMI? I don't want to use WMI because it's slow - for this example, it took for me 0.5 seconds. I need it to be fast. Thank you.

    - by assehj
Good day... I am here again to ask your idea on solving this problem. I have displayed questions using while loop. Each questions have 5 radio buttons each. The problem is, I have to check if one among the group of radio button is clicked. How to do this one using php or javascript? I have here my sample program.. Thanks in advance... $ctr = 1; $partIDTemp = ""; while($rowItems = mysql_fetch_array($resultItems)){ if( $partIDTemp != $rowItems['partID'] ){ if($ctr != 1) echo "<tr ></tr>"; echo "<tr style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight:bold'><td colspan='3'>" . $rowItems['description'] . • I suspect I have multiple version of Python 2.6 installed on Mac OS X 10.6.3; how do I set which one

    - by cojadate
When I enter in python in Terminal it loads up Python 2.6.2. However there are folders by the name of Python 2.6 in different places on my drive. I'm not sure if that's because Python 2.6 has been installed in different places or because Python just likes to have lots of folers in different places. If there are multiple installations, I could really do with being able to set which one should be used.

  • How can I have two web roots on one server, so I can point two domains to two different roots?

    - by Daniel F. Dietzel
I usually ask my n00b questions on Stack Exchange, but now I'm setting up a VPS and have a question. My usual site.com points to my VPS's IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Now I have a different domain, and I'd like to point that to another location, say xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/myname. However, when I try to add that as an "A" record in the DNS settings it won't let me. FYI I'm using chicagovps.net with ubuntu 11.10 and Nginx. Thanks!

  • Possible to detect hash with more than one key?

    - by Sandra
    I am collecting data in a hash of hashes which looks like $VAR1 = { '502' => { 'user2' => '0' }, '501' => { 'git' => '0', 'fffff' => '755' }, '19197' => { 'user4' => '755' } }; The problem is in 501. Two keys may not occur. Is it possible to detect this? Update Fixed typo in hash.

  • How do you make a regular expression that matches a word with one randomly inserted character?

    - by Dfowj
Hey all, i want to use a regular expression to match a word with one specified character randomly placed within it. I also want to keep that 'base' word's characters in their original order. For example, with the 'base' word of test and the specified character of 'y', i want the regular expression to match all the following, and ONLY the following: ytest, tyest, teyst, tesyt, testy Incase it matters, im working in javascript and using the dojo toolkit. Thanks!

  • How would one go about adding (minor) syntactic sugars to Java?

    - by polygenelubricants
Suppose I want to add minor syntactic sugars to Java. Just little things like adding regex pattern literals, or perhaps base-2 literals, or multiline strings, etc. Nothing major grammatically (at least for now). How would one go about doing this? Do I need to extend the bytecode compiler? (Is that possible?) Can I write Eclipse plugins to do simple source code transforms before feeding it to the standard Java compiler?

  • Can Apache be configured to specify more than one docroot per virtualhost?

    - by syn4k
I have a vhost which specifies <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot "/private/var/www/html/cms/sites/" ServerName localhost.com </VirtualHost> I would like to know if localhost.com can also point to /private/var/www/html/wordpress/. This seems like a no brainer but Apache is like black magic; these things are always possible. Anyway, I already know that I could specify a new ServerName entry and set a new docroot. The problem is, both directories need to be available as roots. If I need to provide more info, I will gladly do so.

  • Can I move a copy of Windows 7 from one machine to another?

    - by Chopper3
This is a pretty basic question sorry but I've looked in the 'related questions' and couldn't find an answer. When Windows 7 came out I bought a copy of Home Premium, the retail box with both 32 and 64 bit versions, to install via Boot Camp on my macbook. I've just got a retail (32 and 64 bit) copy of Windows 7 Ultimate that I'd like to install instead-of/over the Home Premium version and it struck me that I should, at least in principal be able to install the Home Premium version on my son's machine - is this the case and if so is there anything I should do first or once they're installed to let MS know I'm being a good guy about this? Sorry it's such a dim question but I'm a serverfault guy really and know very little about Windows. Thanks.

  • How does one view the "inline docs" of a .cpp file?

    - by Mala
I have cpp files peppered with comments such as the following before every function: /** * @brief Set the normal and expansion handshake timeouts. * * @param wm Array of wiimote_t structures. * @param wiimotes Number of objects in the wm array. * @param normal_timeout The timeout in milliseconds for a normal read. * @param exp_timeout The timeout in millisecondsd to wait for an expansion handshake. */ I assume from the format that there has to be some way of exporting this into a "friendly" format, perhaps html, which can then be read in a manner similar to the Java API. How would I do this? (I'm on Windows 7, running MS Visual Studio 2010)

  • make a folder/partition on one computer appear as a mass storage device to another?

    - by user137560
Is there anyway to make a folder or a partition on a computer (Linux or Windows) act like a mass storage device to other computers or devices when connected with a Male-Male USB cable? For example, I have a Windows 7 computer with 2 partitions, C and D. I would then connect that computer to another computer or a Smart TV using a Male-Male USB cable, and the other computer or device recognizes a folder/partition on current computer as a mass storage device. Is this possible? If not, is there any USB switch that can connect an external hard drive or flash drive to both a computer and TV without the need to manually switch them? (I know about some USB switches, but they only support automatic switching with some certain types of printers, not with mass storage)
