  • Web app to take screen shot of website and annotate?

    Does anyone know of a website that will take a full screen shot of another website and let users write notes over it then send that annotated photo by email or private link? Basically looking for quicker way to write notes on a site other than taking a screen shot my self and putting it into photoshop. Just an update, I don't need any browser extensions which I already have and do the same. I'm looking for a website app which does this to give to a client.

  • Best strategy to discover a web service in a local network?

    I am currently doing some research for a project. The setup is simple, I have a computer running a service in my home network and any device connected to that same network should be able to discover the service automatically and use it. I have no specific technology requirement whether it is on the server or client side. The client knows about the service definition. Other than that I have no idea what strategy to use, what technology to look at or whether I should go for a SOAP or a HTTP based service. I think going HTTP with REST API is the best for targeting all devices but I am opened to any suggestions. Thanks.

  • java developer who wants to raise skill level for better career growth [closed]

    I have an experience in Java language and in JEE related Framework for about 5 years. In these 5 years i have worked on Core java, Spring, Hibernate, JPA, Struts 1. Now just to be prepared for the near future, i am thinking to learn some new programming language or some new technology, this will help me out to be a more elligible employee. So my question to you is, which new technology or language should i learn, my target is for next 3 years. So just in case if Java fades out (thought it won't) than i can jump on to this newly learned stuff. Where should i start from ? Should i learn some other language in JVM like Scala, Clojure, Groovy, JRuby ? Or should i learn some altogether different language like Python or Erlang, Perl ? Or new technology which is related to NoSQL, like MongoDB, Hadoop, CouchDB. Or learn few current happening things in market like RoR, Node.js, LessCss or Sass, Coffee Script ? For best performance, especially time to open the solution and compiling time, would it be better to install VS 2010 on the SSD or install it on the HDD. If both were on the SSD, loading the VS 2010 files would be quicker, but there would be contention between loading the source and the program files. Thanks!

    Due to financial problems, I couldn't go for CSE in my country and had to settle for a BCIS honors degree. Now, after quite some time, when I want to go for a higher position in software development then I get asked about algorithms and basics that I have missed back in uni. This is affecting my chances of getting selected and I cannot afford that any longer.
