    Hi I'm new to both winsock and bluetooth programming. I need to develop a bluetooth service to run on a pc. Looking at the MSDN library they say to use WSASetService(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa362921%28VS.85%29.aspx) function to publish a service. The problem is that the WSAQUERYSET(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa362920%28VS.85%29.aspx) structure, that has to be passed to WSASetService, needs a binary SDP record and i don't know how to get it. In the Windows embedded section of the MSDN library they describe a procedure to obtain an SDP record using Bthnscreate. I installed Windows CE 6 to use this tool but i can't find it in the install directory nor in the entire system. How can i get an SDP record? Thanks!

  • Can one use polygon() or equivalent in lattice and ggplot2 plots?

    Is it possible to annotate lattice (or ggplot2) figures with elements created with polygon() (or elements created with a similar function) from the graphics library? I'm not too familiar with either library beyond examples of simple graphs posted on the web and printed in Deepayan Sarkar's book. Therefore, while I have code for what I've been doing in R with the graphics library, pointing me to relevant, equivalent functions and usage examples for lattice or ggplot2 specifically would be appreciated.     Is there anyway to have the validates_attachment_size except a dynamic file size limit? Here's an example: class Document < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :folder has_attached_file :document validates_attachment_size :document, :less_than => get_current_file_size_limit private def get_current_file_size_limit 10.megabytes # This will dynamically change end end I've tried this but I keep getting an error saying "unknown method".     I am trying to create a UserControl that is a composite control for entering Dates. It involves 2 drop down controls (one for month and one for day) and a text box for year. It also has a CustomValidation control that I would like the user of the UserControl to be able to set the ClientValidationFunction property and have it triggered whenever the value in any of the 3 date part controls changes. To hook up each of the 3 controls to the validation control, I use teh AJAX ValidatorHookupControlID method.   • Compiling and linking libcurl to create a stand alone dll

    Hi, I've managed to compile a dll with the necessary linked libraries (*.lib) and with CURL_STATICLIB set in the preprocessor section among other settings. I'm using "libcurl-7.19.3-win32-ssl-msvc.zip" package and compiling with VS 2008 express. This has been the first version I managed to get compiled properly with no link issues etc. The problem I have now is that my dll needs libcurl.dll to function and this is not ok. My dll needs to be independent. I have no idea how to implement this. I've taken all day just to get what I've got compiled. I've got runtime library set to Multi threaded dll (debug/release) respectively under C/C++ - code generation. I've a number of preprocessor set - CURL_STATICLIB being one of them. Configuration Type is set to Dynamic Library Use of MFC is set to Use MFC in a static library Additional Library Directories is set to the lib folders (debug/release) respectively. I've noticed there is a curllib_static.lib file which I've tried instead of curllib.lib as an additional dependency but it only compiles with the later. This is driving me nuts! So I guess I need some guidance as to how to make my dll completely static so it doesn't have any dependencies. I notice my dll is currently dependent on: CURLLIB.DLL MSVCR90D.DLL As I'm pretty new to C++ it could be a setting I'm missing in VS 2008 but I'm not sure. One person said I should be using a static library with *.a files (libcurl.a) etc but when I do this I get link errors which I haven't been able to resolve. Any guidance here would be much appreciated.

    My Couchdb database as a main document type that looks something like: { "_id" : "doc1", "type" : "main_doc", "title" : "the first doc" ... } There is another type of document that stores user information. I want users to be able to tag documents as favorites. Different users can save the same or different documents as favorites. My idea was to introduce a favorite document to track this something like: { "_id" : "fav1", "type" : "favorite", "user_id" : "user1", "doc_id" : "doc1" } It's easy enough to create a view with user_id as the key to get a list of their favorite doc IDs. E.g: function(doc) { if (doc.type == "favorite") { emit(doc.user_id, doc.doc_id); } } However I want to list of favorites to display the user_id, doc_id and title from the document. So output something like: { "key" : "user1", "value" : ["doc1", "the first doc"] }

However, I now need to lazy-load Sizzle at two different points in the script, and call a different function either time once it's loaded. How can I modify my function so that I can specify a variable number of parameters, to be passed with the callback function? Or, am I going about this the wrong way? Ultimately, I just want to load Sizzle, then call any function that I need to (with any arguments that it needs) once it's done loading. Thanks for any help!

  • Lucene and Special Characters

    I am using Lucene.Net 2.0 to index some fields from a database table. One of the fields is a 'Name' field which allows special characters. When I perform a search, it does not find my document that contains a term with special characters. I index my field as such: Directory DALDirectory = FSDirectory.GetDirectory(@"C:\Indexes\Name", false); Analyzer analyzer = new StandardAnalyzer(); IndexWriter indexWriter = new IndexWriter(DALDirectory, analyzer, true, IndexWriter.MaxFieldLength.UNLIMITED); Document doc = new Document(); doc.Add(new Field("Name", "Test (Test)", Field.Store.YES, Field.Index.TOKENIZED)); indexWriter.AddDocument(doc); indexWriter.Optimize(); indexWriter.Close(); And I search doing the following: value = value.Trim().ToLower(); value = QueryParser.Escape(value); Query searchQuery = new TermQuery(new Term(field, value)); Searcher searcher = new IndexSearcher(DALDirectory); TopDocCollector collector = new TopDocCollector(searcher.MaxDoc()); searcher.Search(searchQuery, collector); ScoreDoc[] hits = collector.TopDocs().scoreDocs; If I perform a search for field as 'Name' and value as 'Test', it finds the document. If I perform the same search as 'Name' and value as 'Test (Test)', then it does not find the document. Even more strange, if I remove the QueryParser.Escape line do a search for a GUID (which, of course, contains hyphens) it finds documents where the GUID value matches, but performing the same search with the value as 'Test (Test)' still yields no results. I am unsure what I am doing wrong. I am using the QueryParser.Escape method to escape the special characters and am storing the field and searching by the Lucene.Net's examples. Any thoughts?

  • Fairness: Where can it be better handled?

    Hi, I would like to share one of my practical experience with multiprogramming here. Yesterday I had written a multiprogram. Modifications to sharable resources were put under critical sections protected by P(mutex) and V(mutex) and those critical section code were put in a common library. The library will be used by concurrent applications (of my own). I had three applications that will use the common code from library and do their stuff independently. my library --------- work_on_shared_resource { P(mutex) get_shared_resource work_with_it V(mutex) } --------- my application ----------- application1 { *[ work_on_shared_resource do_something_else_non_ctitical ] } application2 { *[ work_on_shared_resource do_something_else_non_ctitical ] } application3 { *[ work_on_shared_resource ] } *[...] denote a loop. ------------ I had to run the applications on Linux OS. I had a thought in my mind, hanging over years, that, OS shall schedule all the processes running under him with all fairness. In other words, it will give all the processes, their pie of resource-usage equally well. When first two applications were put to work, they run perfectly well without deadlock. But when the third application started running, always the third one got the resources, but since it is not doing anything in its non-critical region, it gets the shared resource more often when other tasks are doing something else. So the other two applications were found almost totally halted. When the third application got terminated forcefully, the previous two applications resumed their work as before. I think, this is a case of starvation, first two applications had to starve. Now how can we ensure fairness? Now I started believing that OS scheduler is innocent and blind. It depends upon who won the race; he got the largest pie of CPU and resource. Shall we attempt to ensure fairness of resource users in the critical-section code in library? Or shall we leave it up to the applications to ensure fairness by being liberal, not greedy? To my knowledge, adding code to ensure fairness to the common library shall be an overwhelming task. On the other hand, believing on the applications will also never ensure 100% fairness. The application which does a very little task after working with shared resources shall win the race where as the application which does heavy processing after their work with shared resources shall always starve. What is the best practice in this case? Where we ensure fairness and how? Sincerely, Srinivas Nayak

So I think the act of selecting outside the browser window is causing the text to not be seen by the browser as "selected" any more. Just a theory.... thoughts?

  • Open an attachment for editing and save changes made to it

    My Lotus Notes document has a rich text item that stores an attachment. I want to edit the attachment and after this to save the attachment back to the Lotus Notes document. This is the script that launches the attachment: @Command([EditGotoField];"Attachment"); @Command([EditSelectAll]); @Command([AttachmentLaunch]); @Command([EditDeselectAll]) This script opens the attachment, but the changes made are not reflected to the Lotus Document. One way of solving this is to add AttachmentActionDefault=2 as an entry to the notes.ini. This enables to edit the attachment when double clicking on attachment. Also using the right click on the attachment, and then choosing edit action, produces the same result. In both cases, after saving, the changes are reflected back to the Lotus Notes document. The problem is that I want to use a button for opening the attachment.

    Hi! Weird question, but i need to find an answer. Is there any way, in which i can manage managed beans in JSP? I`ll try to explain, what i want to do: Imagine, i have JSP page, which, for example, is called document.save.jsp. I have some various documents with different types. Each of them have their own bean. For example: BillDocument.java, OrderDocument.java and ReportDocument.java. BillDocument.java in my jsp is #{billdoc}. OrderDocument.java - #{orddoc}. ReportDocument.java - #{repdoc}. Each of them have method save(). In my JSP i want to call this method, but i need to know, which document it is. In my mind this structure is something like: <% String currentBean = ""; if(document == BillDocument){ currentBean = #{billdoc}; } if(document == OrderDocument){ currentBean = #{orddoc}; } if(document = ReportDocument){ currentBean = #{repdoc}; } %> Then, my Button with save method on it, may be smth like: <h:commandButton action="currentbean.save"/> Is there any way, in which i can store data about bean, which will be used in this button?     I have 3 projects in my solution. 1 - client, 2 - server, 3 - WCF service library. Server executable exposes the service provided in the library. I need to add a reference to it, rather than to the library directly. When I open "Add Service Reference" and click "Discover", it only lists the library data, and doesn't list the executable server option. How do I reference a WCF executable service, so the client code would be generated automatically? I use VS 2010. Thanks for your help.

    I want to use a GPL'd library in my C# application, but not necessarily release my own code under the GPL. If I understand correctly linking against a GPL'd library using dynamic linking and not distributing the library in question means I can license my own app in any way I want (the users of my software would then be required to install the library themselves). Please correct me if I'm wrong. My question is: how can I link against a DLL this way in C#? Do I only need to use C#'s using directive and add the DLL as a reference to the compiler? Is the distribution of the resulting bytecode legal?

  • Increase RGB components every Hour (r), Minute (g), Second (b) for digital clock

    So I am taking my first javascript class (total noob) and one of the assignments is to modify a digital clock by assigning the color red to hours, green minutes, blue to seconds, then increase the respective color component when it changes. I have successfully assigned a decimal color value (ex. "#850000" to each element (hours, minutes, seconds), but my brain is fried trying to figure out how to increase the brightness when hours, minutes, seconds change, i.e. red goes up to "#870000" changing from 1:00:00 pm to 2:00:00 pm. I've searched everywhere with no help on how to successfully do this. Here is what I have so far and any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
